Apparently there was supposed to be a love triangle forming if you chose a mixed gender party (since it would always be 2 girls and a guy or 2 guys and a girl), so all guys or all girls would have been the only way to avoid romance. But they changed their minds and only left in some hints of Angela/Duran and Riesz/Hawkeye. And the Riesz/Hawkeye stuff mostly happens when they are NOT in the party together.

I actually haven't experimented with ninja jutsu stuff yet. I'm pretty sure shuriken will scale with Luck just like all the other thrown weapons and traps but I'm unsure if the elemental ones will scale just the same or use INT for damage like in the first game. I also don't know if magic skills can crit like thrown weapons in this game. I guess I'll plant some seeds try them.

Not that hard in the original either, but atleast they could destroy you if, had no idea about enemies countering L2-3 techs/magic or how broken stat-ups/downs are.

Not him, but while I hate that Kevin is a furry, I find him to be the most fun to play. I'll play him the most in combat, but he won't be the selected main character because he is a furry.

If you can get to lvl 7 by full metal haggar that probably means the exp curve is pretty different in this game. I'm guessing that you might actually be able to class change around the time you get to tzenker which is alot quicker than before.

I used to grind to level 18 in the wind corridor to class change at that point many years ago. Now I haven't even considered it while playing it on the Collection of Mana because of how long it would take. I think I might have used the fast forward option on the emulator when playing the fan translation all those years ago.

So, if you only stay on the main path, don't really explore, and only fight enemies that are directly in your path, you end up being between around levels 4, 5, or 6. Level 7 takes a minuscule amount of grinding.

I really want the game but not for $50. The game looks and feels too cheap for anything above $30. It feels like I am playing a PS Vita JRPG. I will get it eventually but not at launch.

While I see your point and I agree it's not quite AAA quality, I think comparing it to a Vita game is a bit much. Maybe 40 bucks would have been a fair price.

I mean, I liked the vita. Best handheld console. Just, while I did enjoy the games I played on it, games like Ys: MoC, had this cheap quality. Ys: MoC and ToM give me the same kind of vibes.
