This game is being directed by Nomura and written by the guy who said that Shinra from FF X-2's descendent's traveled to FF VII's world and set up Shinra and immediately started mako shenanigans, despite the fact that FF VII's space technology is nascent and Shinra was a weapons manufacturer for a long time. I don't know why anyone was getting excited about Nojima writing after that.

aus user here. im over 10 hours played and just crashed aeriths church. my thoughts? the game is much more fleshed out. Biggs, Wedge and Jesse get way more character development. Many lines and moments a nod to the original game. Lots of small attention to detail with remaking all the levels as close as possible to the original game and adding more substantial moments and tense battles. Combat is pure kino. Its the Remake I always wanted.

It's some fag who seems to think that everybody complaining about this nonsense in FF7R is an oddly specific group of Nintendofags who both played DQXI and liked the time travel elements that were added in the Switch release of that game

It's possible for a person to not like Nomura and also hope this game is good. I'll probably play this when it comes over to PC because I love real-time with pause and I'm always game for a comfy JRPG so long as the characters aren't fucking annoying. I'll know better than to expect the plot of this game to be worth two flying shits in the end, Nomura makes overly convoluted and poorly paced plots that aren't satisfying. Maybe he and the other dudes in charge of FF were awesome back in the day but XV and KH3 are pretty stark examples of how these epic narratives overwhelm the writing staff.
