Man, this game has so many guns I like that I don't know what guns should I use.
What's your favorite guns, Yas Forums?
Man, this game has so many guns I like that I don't know what guns should I use
Guns are for plebs
Nice
I wish this game had better shooting mechanics cause the weapons and especially Vault 34 are /k/core.
Ratslayer and This Machine are kino guns, as well as Light Shining in Darkness and Survivalist's Rifle
Barring uniques, I'd say Police Pistol is my favorite generic weapon, followed up by the 9mm pistol because the Hi Power is the sexiest handgun ever made
Which should I pair with my hunting shotgun, Yas Forums?
Scoped hunting rifle is the most optimal, but also the most boring and ammo is quite heavy.
Trail carbine has light ammo so I can carry in bulk.
Hunting revolver is the coolest.
Or fuck it and use This machine + hunting rifle since they share ammo?
Anti-Mat with a .50 Cal Explosive Round.
Bozar with AP
Hunting Revolver for Ironus Maximus
The ones that go PEW PEW
the mod with modern rifles is pretty fucking rad
Yeah, it's a huge revolver.
Medicine Stick (Or Brush Gun)
Ranger Sequoia (Or Hunting Revolver)
me like Rebar Club because it hit hard!
based
unarmed is the only way to go
even at its time graphics and shooting mechanics were shit
but its not soo bad because the story and writing is makes up for it
That's what I want, but I'm only level 15 and still don't have jury rig perks so I'm going t o have trouble with repair and ammo
this breaks the fuck out of the game with the right perks.
for me, it's the bozar.
Perfect choice.
I like that gun
60% more damage with explosive? haha yes please
for me, it's the All-American
Please for the love of god bros give EVE a chance makes energy weapons actually compete with guns
you fuckers are making me want to play fonv again
I think I kept this weapon around all game.
Just use it to ass blast cazadores then unload it on the gunrunners
I didn't spec into explosives but still used explosives I found instead of selling them. So keeping this lightweight launcher in my inventory was useful. Ended up really liking using explosives and the weapon.
>Mfw trying to use this against deathclaws with my Bomberman run
>Mfw no face because deathclaws fucked me so hard my face ran away crying
Send lube pls
I'm so temping to make ammo weightless right now, but it would defeat the purpose of hardcore mode.
I know it's not particularity strong, but I really like the look of the basic service rifle.
upgrades and variety of guns is one of the better part of this game. You never see it anymore, why are developers so lazy nowadays.
It's just an AR-15 with wooden furniture.
hunting shotgun
I'm using it right now.
Fully modded Hunting shotgun + shotgun surgeon
+ and stay back is really strong. But I can't decide what the other gun I should use.
I also know it's shit but have this urge to use it with the relevant perk and steady aim trait (?)
M1 Garand
Lever actions are fun too, just less practical due to reload time (I don't use VATS)
>8/10870
bump
Anyone know any good modding guides/lists for this game?
>weapon textures conflict with weapon animations
i just used whatever had the highest damage & browsed wiki on the areas i was in to hunt for unique variants.
Any suggestion? I think the trail carbine looks pretty good, very durable, respectable damage with hand load ammo and has scope for long range. Also .44 magnum is cheap and plentiful and light weight ammo is always good.
hardcore mode is a meme, only thing it really does is triggering my OCD, making me spend more time in various inventory menus than actually play the game. Wish it took me less than 1500 hours to realize.
Fallout New Vegas was the last good RPG ever made.
Always thought how New Vegas felt like an isometric Fallout game that was adapted to 3D, in a good way. Especially get this feeling in Freeside
stupid fucking weeb
>Yas Forums is full of scrubs, casuals and cheaters
color me surprised
Hunting rifle is good but they nerfed it from the beast it was in Fallout 3. I'm sure there's a mod that could up it just a wee bit.
Hunting shotgun and 44. Revolver for me.
>they nerfed it from the beast it was in Fallout 3
nah, they just made other weapons useful
Why .44 revolver? it's a close range weapon ever with scope and at close range hunting shotgun is better.
Has the potential to gain a 95% base crit chance. Eats through ammo, but it's worth it.
fav runs across 20-30 playthroughs over the years:
this machine
survivalist rifle
ratslayer
riot shotgun
two step goodbye
industrial fist/chainsaw/etc with a max crit build
chance's knife/blood nap
old glory
war club
thump thump
mercy
holorifle
fully modded laser rifle/tri-beam
ycs
mfc clusters
for me its the grenade machinegun crippling every limb in a 2 kilometers radius
357 revolver is ideal if you have a critical hit build, but .44 can unleash insane amounts of DPS with the right perks. I was able to kill the Legate in 2 seconds with it while under the effects of turbo.
Haven't played FNV in a while but am I misremembering - the base game energy weapons feeling really slow compared to Fallout 3 and 4? I remember playing 3 for the first time and being so excited to start using the Plasma Rifle and Harkness' A321 or whatever it was called. In New Vegas I almost always stuck with normal gunpowder weapons
riot shotgun is really a mainstay for me too
New Vegas has more fully-automatic energy weapons than 3, but perhaps they toned down the attack speed on the rifles for the sake of balance.
>chance's knife
Based knifechad
They all feel janky. My favorite run was getting chemmed up to hell and playing golf with Nelphi's Driver or the Saturnite Fist.
you aren't misremembering. I made a run with energy weapon skills and you don't even get a real energy weapon for a dozen hours or so. It is a wildly unbalanced game.
Also, fallout sucks because of Int being necessary or you are intentionally playing the game shittily.
I like to abuse the agility exploit and make the punching go absurdly fast.
>hunting shotgun + Dragon's breath shells
Why would you need anything else?
Hunting shotgun + shotgun surgeon is god tier, almost broken.
>weapon + weapon related perk is god tier, almost broken.
They all are like this.
>you don't even get a real energy weapon for a dozen hours or so
You're speaking of Fallout 3 or New Vegas? You can find a laser rifle and plasma pistol in Nipton.
Also, high intelligence isn't necessary unless you want a surplus of utility skills.
Which ammo other than slug?
THIS is taste
FNV and Red Dead 2 have made me want to impulse buy a levergat so fucking badly
there should have been more guns with green lasers. they're much more pleasing to the eye than the red ones.
The one that you can have the most of, and DB, a lot of DB
This bad boy
>unless you want a surplus of utility skills
You do, that is the problem. No other stat matters even a tenth of what Int matters. It warps all gameplay around it needlessly.
4/0 Buck Mag hand loads for the overkill
Hunting Shotgun and Thump Thump
simple as.
The shooting mechanics are pretty good, tho, if the animations bother you just mod that shit.
It's nice to have extra utility options, but they are never necessary or essential. A courier with 1 intelligence can complete the game just as easily as a courier with 10.
>You do, that is the problem
i never really needed that desu
if you want to minmax in a roleplaying game that is your fault
>just as easily
No, its possible but it isn't as easy. You essentially have to have played the game already to make it feasible.
No one would complete the game blindly if they did 1 INT.
Toaster-pilled.
Patiencia is my favourite rifle, carry shotgun next to it and have been using a caravan shotgun or dinner bell.
As for my gun, lucky.
I always perk for high critical damage and rate so patiencia is buff as fuck on a critical hit.
