i don't think it's the stream. it looks like they put triple effort into making it look "flashy", like the screen shaking every time a critical is delivered, how cloud and aeris to like 4-5 flips every time they attack or do something, how it slows down for dramatic effect. i just hate how it looks

No, Shinra blow up the bomb so that the player don't have to feel bad about the level of destruction a blown reactor causes. The remake does everything to remove agency and meaning from Avalanche's terrorist attacks, by making Shinra the main source of the resulting damage.
