I think it'd be a shame to miss out on how well the artists did with the limitations at the time. I would totally dig a remake but the original is amazing. And I have no nostalgia for it since I never had a psx as a kid and only recently emulated it.

SH1 is precisely one of the strongest examples of masterpiece that DOES NOT need remaster or remake.

Giving it higher fidelity in graphics would kill the atmosphere. Although higher resolutions with an emulator are ok in my opinion.

It controls fine, shooting and hitting feels fine. There's enough healing items to compensate for the retards who can't grasp the control (too many I'd say). The puzzles hold up to this day.

Mount the ISOs of 2 & 3, and then run their installers like always.
DON'T use W10's own virtual disc app! It will not work.
Don't install under C:\Program Files\ ! This will cause issues.
The "Enhanced .EXE" is also the no-CD crack!

The SH1 is a PS1 rip that you gotta emulate using ePSXe or PCSX-R.
Follow the SH2 widescreen fix site's instructions to the T, and you should be fine.
For 3 & 4, check the Guide.

I took it October two years ago while playing through the series
was getting something out of the attic and the moonlight felt kinda creepy and with the toy piano and everything it just seemed perfect
wanted to get the moon in the shot but it wasnt cooperating

I legit just played it yesterday. It has aged like fine wine, and if you hate its gameplay, you automatically hate rest of the games.

Not to mention SH2 has terrible pacing that shines through with replays. Some newbies even get tired of the first couple hours alone, and I don't blame them.

For the first time will definitely go with defaults but might try something else on other runs.
I don't worry about disliking gameplay since I'm into shit like dorf fort, factorio, souls, underrail and such. Meaning I like getting used to mechanics, whatever they are and however old they are.
