Would you Code Vein players recommend this to someone who has like 500 hours in DS3 and 20 different characters?

Would you Code Vein players recommend this to someone who has like 500 hours in DS3 and 20 different characters?
I'm looking for a "souls like" game that just let's me make different builds and characters and that can be trivialized if i don't fell like a challenge. I heard you can play the entire game with a NPC partner, even the bosses, does that help or does it actually make the fights harder?
Also is there a respec option or do i have to look up guides?
I don't care for story or coomer shit, but feel free to dump your waifus if you want. But please also help me decide on buying this or not.
It's 30 bucks on sale right now.

>"multiple" endings
>they're all the same shit
>mc ends up a lone cuck in all of em
>faggot bitch npc jack keeps his waifu and gets to fuck her erryday
nah it's fucking trash

you seem very autistic

it has a demo you know.

sure why not
you can play without the npc if you want
you can "respec" whenever by switching your class and skills, you dont level up stats like dark souls

Its ok.
You can do every build with the same character. There arent any permanent choices with character building. You can 'respec' at any time.
You can play with or without a NPC partner. With the partner the game is quite easy, without the partner it can be harder than souls games.
You should play the other DS games instead of this if you haven't. Other better games would include surge and nioh.

No. Code Vein is only enjoyable if you aren't a fan of the Dark Souls series.
Think about it as an easy, simplified version of a Souls-like.

I thought the Surge 2 was a much better souls knockoff than code vein was.

>ask for advice
>act like a bitch when you get it
retard

It's okay. It has a few good bosses, but nothng spectacular. Worth a playthrough at elast.
>does that help or does it actually make the fights harder?
If you thought using summons in DaS made things easy then you have not seen anything yet.
Using the NPC is pretty much a free win and takes away any challence and fun from the game.
To put it into perspective. There was one boss in the game that I just could not do shit against. I tried and tried and tried and after getting maybe 10-15% of their hp down I eventually said fuck it and used a parter. Then killed them first try with no problem.

Is Surge 2 better than Surge 1?
I'm playing through S1 right now, but I kinda lost interest. Don't think I've got more than 20% left, but it's just a bit too samey.

You can play every build with a single character
When leveling you don't allocate stats, and your stats and build on determined by the class you have active.
You can change your class and equipped skills at any time, even in the middle of combat
The NPC partner makes the game easier and you can play a build to buff them

Overall the game is more like a Bandai-Namco anime game with a souls coating than a full Souls ripoff

can i also create the NPCS or at least change the armor and weapons of him/her?
how does leveling up work then?
thanks, but that's what i was looking for. i only care for seeing my characters grow and gain better equipment.
i said i didn't care for story or coomer shit, yet you called the game trash based on the story and coomer shit

This game has too much dialogue no one gives a fuck about.

The character creation is the most fun part about it, and probably duped multiple people

The actual gameplay is REALLLLY average and it also looks really cheap, like a misleading mobile game trailer

I wouldnt recommend, has he played BloodBorne? You only mentioned "Souls" games but not SoulsBorne

thanks, that's basically all i needed to hear, i will definitely buy it and waste a lot of time during the next quarantine months.
>You can play every build with a single character
doesn't stop me from making dozens of characters anyways, i might be autistic.
i made 12 Diablo 3 characters, 1 for each class and gender and made sure none of the male/female versions share a single skill and/or weapon

fuck you bitch lmao nigga need permission to spend $30 get off welfare bitch hahaha

you have multiple npcs to choose from, but you cant customize them
leveling is just a general power up, you dont choose anything specific

no, i haven't played Bloodbourne. like i said, i'm looking more for build variation and stuff and BB didn't have that, at least not from what i've seen.

I liked it. It's easier than any of the Souls games but still a challenge. It's VERY heavy on cutscenes (the memory system is cool the first 3 times, maybe), and the leveling system is closer to a traditional JRPG than any of the Souls games.

I think hit the nail on the head. It's a fun, but somewhat forgettable anime game that's inspired by Souls.

but do i get level points to spend or something like that? how do i gain new attacks/spells?

Honestly I think you're going to be disappointed and you should avoid the game.
It was one of my favorite games of 2019 and I consider it to be a genuinely solid game, but it lacks the content, length and polish of a From-made Soulsborne game and If you want to play a Soulslike you should play the other Dark Souls games, Demon's Souls or Bloodborne instead.

If you insist on playing Code Vein have on mind the following:
- Instead of allocating individual stats, they're governed by your blood code. The blood code is pretty much a class that can be equipped at any time.
- levelling up only increases your stamina and maximum HP
- The only weapon classes are two-handed swords, swords, halberds, hammers and bayonets
- The only gear you equip besides your weapon is a blood veil, pretty much armor. Depending on the blood veil class your drain attack changes.
- The gameplay is centered around using gifts: they're either special attacks, buffs or passives. You start with a fixed amount of ichor (pretty much MP) and obtain MP by attacking enemies with your weapon or draining them with your veil.
- The NPC companion can be summoned at any time for no cost. You can play solo too.
- The game is on the easy side, even when solo.
- It's a 30 hours long romp.

you get exp that you use to level up
you get new spells/skills by getting new "classes"
you can master the spells and equip them on any class

Leveling and buying equipment both use the same currency you get from beating enemies.
You’ll unlock new classes as you progress, either through story shit or finding pickups in certain areas.

Your crazy if you think bloodborne isnt build variant, and uniquely so with all those trick weapons. Unless you mean you want to wield multiple different weapons despite stats?

You can do that if you level and spread your points out, which you can do pretty willy nilly if you have no care for pvp.

got it, thanks for the help.
last question: if i unlock all classes with my first character, can i start a new one with those new classes?
also will exploring areas be rewarded and are there different routes through the game or is it completely linear?

I played a little, I think it is more similar to Dark Souls 2: several enemies throw in a small area because "muh difficulty xD".

What soulslike games would you guys recommend after beating DS1, DS3 and Bloodborne? Tried Sekiro and DS2 and couldn't get into them, and code vein is shit.

>give bad advice
>call someone else the retard when called on it

I too played DS3 albeit not for 500 hours but soloed everything all the way to silly old man.
>different builds and characters
In CV builds are flexible and can be changed at any given time because they work on "codes" which are fixed classes, the character's appearance can be modified at the base too, some skills once mastered can be used with any code for a broader customization.
>can be trivialized if i don't fell like a challenge
Yakumo or Io both turn the game into a cakewalk, the AI in this game is pretty good at fighting and can revive you too, they truly trivialize the game, maybe a little bit too much tho.
>look up guides?
Game is pretty straight forward, only place that will keep you confused is cathedral and that fire place.

there's ng+, but if you start a new game you have to unlock the classes again
it's not completely linear, you can do some stuff in different order and there's some optional stuff

>bad advice
prove me wrong faggot io dies io become a fucking statue or she turn in to a fucking tree there your bitch ass "multiple endings" lmao it's all the same fucking shit mc's a fucking cuck but that faggot jack gets to keep eva cause the jap devs are fucking cucks pushing their fujoshit cuck fetish so fuck you bitch

>Think about it as an easy, simplified version of a Souls-like.
Shit is harder than any DS if you play it solo.

Its linear as fuck user, and most of the items are honestly pretty meh. The game lacks verticality as well. There are only a couple areas where you're uncertain as to where to go but everything for the most part is laid out painfully obvious for the player.

You can start a NG+ after beating the game. In fact it’s required if you want to get all the endings and skills. Raising the difficulty is optional, and you can always lower it back down.
If you want a new character, you can start a new playthrough, design a character then save the preset to use with your NG+ save.

>Being this bad at video games

>See enemies waiting to ambush you
>Hit them with a dagger
>They fall to death
>Only have to fight 1v1
git gud

it's very easy with a partner on NG
on NG+ and up you can get killed in one hit by things that don't look like they do much damage and get hit several times by things that look like they should kill you in one hit
the balance is all over the place as expected of the devs behind GE1 and 2
you can freely change around your build and skills though which is pretty cool

It's worth a pirate. But keep in mind that only STR + 2H is viable, you will do a fuckton of damage and be able to use your 2Handed weapon to block a lot of attacks without taking damage or losing too much stamina.

>last question: if i unlock all classes with my first character, can i start a new one with those new classes?
No; characters are independent from each other. There is an NG+ mode and you keep everything.

>also will exploring areas be rewarded and are there different routes through the game or is it completely linear?
The game is completely linear except at the beginning, when you can choose between two areas; after it is a straight line.
That said, exploring is required to get the normal and the good ending due to both endings being dependent on certain items hidden on certain levels.

It took me much less effort to kill Midir on solo with a bow than kill invading executioner solo.

>git gud
What the fuck, nigger? This shit game is easy as fuck, my complaint is that it has extremely boring gameplay, just like dark Souls 2

ok, but how hard is it for someone who never beat Friede and Midir without a summon? Friede with the Gael NPC summon, if that makes any difference.

Save your money. Only reason this game gets talked about is because of coomer shit.

He is right you fucking dumbass. But the game is hard because of the atrocious combat, it is fucking clunky and janky, i-frame for dodge roll is garbage even with light weight.

He sounds like that guy that bitches about Nioh 2 because your character jumps backwards after a clash in a cutscene.

Never had a problem with any of these, beat this shit without breaking a sweat. You're all just shit.

He's wrong and so are you.
Code Vein is way easier than the Dark Souls games, but it isn't a bad game in the slightest.
Granted, it's not Nioh levels of fluid but you need to play more videogames if you think it's clunky or janky.

>good ending
there ain't no fucking "good" ending lmao it's all the same shit io dies and mc gets fucking cucked

>how hard is it for someone who never beat

They are gonna break your mental sanity if gilded hunter didn't do it already, that is if you go solo of course, which you should.

you sound like a DBSpic

As someone who has played all the Fromsoft Souls games and Code Vein, I would not recommend it if you're looking for a similar experience to those Souls games. There is a lot of story, constant dialogue, constant cutscenes. You will probably be mashing buttons continually to try and skip stuff to get back to the gameplay, but are still going to spend 30% of your playtime being forced to slowly walk down the same dream hallway listening to overwrought narration from different characters as you stare at non-animated ash sculptures.

The gameplay is objectively worse than Souls games, you don't have to devote yourself to any builds as you just unlock everything and socket it into ability slots as needed, the weapon variety boils down to "big slow weapon or little fast weapon," the special attacks your armor gives you are clunky and boring. I was able to enjoy the game myself, but I openly admit to enjoying weaboo coomer shit, and if you're just looking for a good gameplay experience you won't find it here.

Vein was saved, most of the cast reunited with their beloved ones and now the team will explore the world outside
It sounds like a good ending to me. I don't give a shit about Io because Rei Ayanami expies are one of the most boring cliches in Japanese media

>coomer
Stopped reading here. Anybody who uses this word seriously has no opinions worth listening to.

Bullshit, I bet you used either casual journey, an AI or lie in the internet.

The bosses of CV are much faster and are balanced around the player having an AI, the ones of DS aren't and can be shield stalked to death even the ones in DS3.

>mc gets fucking cucked
Nope, there is Mia.

I played the game completely solo and didn't use Final Journey, companions and summons.
The only tricky boss is Cannoneer and Blade Bearer ; for that fight I just used a fuckton of elemental defenses, making the fight doable. It was definitively easier than EVOLUTION fag.

i love souls games and i couldn't get into it really. i might give it another shot one day. i don't know. if you're looking to scratch that itch like somebody else said i'd play the surge and nioh games first. i'd even play 2d games like hollow knight, salt & sanctuary, death's gambit, etc. before playing this one.

Demon's Souls.
None of the non-From Soulsborne games come even closer to From's games.

>you don't have to devote yourself to any builds as you just unlock everything and socket it into ability slots as needed, the weapon variety boils down to "big slow weapon or little fast weapon," the special attacks your armor gives you are clunky and boring
but what if i want to devote myself to different builds? like even if i can switch them on the fly, i will still use the fast and/or range weapons to my female characters and the big ones to my males, juts to name an example. are they viable?
can i make a pure STR, a pure DEX, a pure MAGE, a pure GUN and a mix of all of these? that's basically what i care for.
to explain my roleplay autism further: even if range weapons were all the same, but they had rifle and pistol skins, i would make 2 different characters for them.

Yes but don't bother with the dlcs. Wait for a sale if there is one.

nioh has much better combat though
