is it one of those dynasty warriors clones?

Should I buy it? I really liked 2. Is that tall ice guy still good?

I've played them all and it's definitely the best one gameplay wise, go for it. Haven't tried Aokiji yet.

I'll get it. I just have to decide on PC or PS4. My PC is starting to die and is about 8 years old at this point, but could probably handle this.

From what I heard the PS4 version has the worst loading times

Are there musou games that don't sell like shit? I actually like them as stress relief, but I've never seen them appealing to a broader audience.

I saw a guy stream this game for like 3 hours and holy crap it looks fun.

Unless you are playing as Robin

yes

Is co-op dead on steam or am I just finding fucking no-one at all?

It's really good.

>Are there musou games that don't sell like shit?
It mostly depends on the license at this point.
Hyrule Warriors sold over a million copies on Wii U and "exceeds sales expectations in the west" with the Switch port.

It sold better than 3 did on Steam so I'll take that as a good sign. How do you figure it sold like shit? I hope they keep making them, the next game will probably be much much better.

I heard the Switch version takes like 5 minutes to boot up, PS4 is even worse? lmao it's so fast on my PC. I know the FPS is bad on consoles, 45 for PS4 and 35 for Switch.

I imagine the next game would have more characters and more combos particularly air combos for characters who didn't have any in this game.

>it sells like shit
source?

For example Cavendish was a new character and his moveset is fully fleshed out, but some of the older characters felt half baked. I think more characters will be like him in future titles. I hope anyway.

Who is your favorite. I'm liking Katakuri, Ace, Law and Kizaru a lot.

Luffy, Whitebeard, Zoro, Cavendish, and Hancock come to mind. I've just been grinding so I can upgrade everyone fully then I'll organize all of my favorites. I probably haven't played half of the characters more than once, and I haven't touched many of them.

> niche game in "niche" franchise sells badly
wow what a shock. also source my ass?

from the characters that I've played zoro, whitebeard and franky are my favorites

First time hearing Katakuri say donuts as he heals by eating one made me laugh

I'm waiting for the bikini costumes, and Shanks' Strong World costume as well.

Ivankov is based. I want him to destroy Perospero's candy ass.

I wish Zoro was better but I really like him too. The best strat is to buff the full force thing and special moves, then spam the Dragon Shock move. It's cool and hits really hard and kds/staggers even through armor.

Attached: Mihawk.webm (640x360, 2.96M)

Ivankov is too based

I remember seeing Ivankov mistook 3 of Sanji's brothers as him because all of them have that curly eyebrow.

To be fair, so did Nami and Chopper.

How does the switch port fair, I feel like it's something I'd like to have on there if it runs well just to pick up and play a map quickly. Would play it more in portable than not.

I'd imagine it would feature more transformations for characters that should fucking have them but don't like general franky and all of Chopper.

When you optimize Whitebeard's damage he becomes even more retarded.

It's a great PC port so I'd get it on there if you have one

Attached: Whitebeard.webm (694x390, 2.98M)

Yeah no General Franky and Sulong Carrot was lame, their specials are cockblocks especially Carrots since it's so smooth.

Katakuri, Cavendish and Reiju for now since I'm only using newcomers in Free/Treasure log.

Don't really dig the technique characters like Law, Bege and Carrot. Maybe I'm just playing them wrong.

I didn't buy it after putting hundreds of hours into the previous 3 because of locking characters behind a $30 season pass. I'll buy it on sale eventually.

Checked eShop yesterday and it's 70 fucking euros for the base game and it's almost a hundred with all the dlc.
Gonna pirate it when I crack my Switch.

Carrot and Luffy can stay in the air doing combos for so long.

Play Law like an air fighter and he's much more enjoyable.

>almost a hundred with all the dlc.

You think they'll stop at just one season pass. That's cute.

Why is Jack so fun to bully?

Attached: MFW JACK IS AN ENEMY IN THIS MAP.png (416x341, 161.13K)

He does the same thing in the air over and over though. It's pretty strong but repetitive.

Seriously? I didn't buy it on principle even though I'd like supporting them since I like One Piece. If it was full price with free DLC characters later on I would for sure but...

>make the same game literally almost 100 times
>sells badly at some point
HOLY SHIT WHAT? WHAT THE FUCK? HOW WILL THEY EXPLAIN THIS TO THEIR INVESTORS?

Attached: Luffy.webm (834x470, 2.96M)

Fuck I wish the camera was always this zoomed out

Has any Koei game had more than one?

mods to adjust the fov and options to turn off most of the hud would be great

Carrot not a Straw Hat? Then user no buy.

Bamco's popular games recently have been having double or even triple season passes to squeeze out even more money. DBFZ, Tekken 7, Xenoverse 2, Naruto UNS4, Soulcalibur 6 off the top of my head, and maybe a couple others. Of course no second season pass has been confirmed yet (and may not be coming since the base game hasn't been selling too well), but the fact that only some, not all, of the cut characters from PW3 were included in the datamine is a worrying sign.

Dynasty Warriors 9 has three, Hyrule Warriors had two. But that's not too relevant, since Bamco's the publisher and will have the final say on the amount of content that gets made.

just pirate it bro

First quote meant for

>it sells like shit
proof? i was hoping to wait for 5

>finally get the gameplay right by adding separate transformation modes, a fun skill grid, jumping combos and dashes making everything much faster paced, much needed buffs to weaker characters and no stupid tagging in partner stuff
Half of the cast got butchered really hard by the new combat system. Fuck you.

I wonder if they realize that people are pirating their games and all the DLC because they're making so much DLC. I guess they think it's worth milking the goys, but I wonder if it is.

Attached: Donuts.webm (640x360, 2.96M)

No, no no. It's going to be more like "hmm, people are pirating our games for making too much DLC, we should milk our remaining customers even more to even it out"

>Garp's soiface

They'll make anothero ne for sure, it'll be years away though. 2 at least.

Pirate Warriors games have always sold at least 2 million copies.

>sells like shit
It's already the fastest selling Pirate Warriors game, and all the other have sold at least 2 million copies each. Cope nigger.

Atlus does the same thing and it drives me nuts, because I have no idea why retards keep buying these costumes, in-game soundtracks, announcers and cheat items. People obviously do buy them because they keep making them, but it's really annoying when I have to pirate DLC just to feel like I haven't been jewed on the purchase.

Exactly the opposite. Source is Siliconera.

Attached: One-Piece_-Pirate-Warriors-Sales-Japan-Famitsu.jpg (600x371, 33.43K)

That's such a bummer. I actually feel bad pirating it since I played the fuck out of it but I just can't afford to support this nonsense. No way I'm paying for unfinished games then paying for the rest of it.

Feels bad. The waiting does as well.

>Japan sales
LMAO. Japan is irrelevant.

>Physical sales during coronavirus lockdown
Ok? The game has already over 1400 reviews on Steam.

>People obviously do buy them because they keep making them
Don't look at it this way. There's no(?) evidence people are buying them, and there is reason to believe publishers simply cut off finished parts of games to sell as DLC. Or release games in unfinished states to finish them later and sell the patches as DLC.

That chart isn't looking good for this series.

stop feeling bad because the publisher aren´t sad you played their game and the devs won´t see shit since they got paid by the publisher.
but your worse offense would be buying the DLCs,bring back unlockable characters and a full game like back in the days.

The DLC hasn't been made yet
It won't be up for purchase for 4 months, at best

Pirate Warriors 3 has sold the most so far, Japan sales don't matter.

imgur.com/a/7Hmdgoi

And that's not counting Steam sales.

It was just bad timing. Launching right after and around big games, most peoples income getting fucked because china and a warriors game is hardly a must have even if its improved

It's selling really well so far, don't listen to OP.

>Don't look at it this way. There's no(?) evidence people are buying them

I disagree. Cramming this trash into a game's store page will undoubtedly lower a customer's opinion of the game before they even play it. These publishers have access to sales data that we don't, and (though it's sometimes easy to forget this), they're generally ran by competent people who are very good at making money. The companies that hold the data have decided that the profit gained from the inclusion of all this DLC is worth the PR hit from selling it, which means people are buying it. Even if it's just a handful of brainless otaku who see 'franchise I like' on a store page and rush to the 'buy all' option the instant preorders open.

PW3 sold over 345,720 copies on Steam and going by Steam Charts, PW4 likely sold twice that.

Attached: stay below.jpg (1920x1080, 856.71K)

On top of having sold over 2 million copies on PlayStation alone and thus becoming the best selling Pirate Warriors game, Pirate Warriors 3 also had 350,000 owners on Steam as of July 2018.

arstechnica.com/gaming/2018/07/steam-data-leak-reveals-precise-player-count-for-thousands-of-games/

I feel bad because I love the IP but I haven't spent a cent on it.

Then that's why it sold like shit. How much new content could they even add to this from pirate warriors 3? A proper conclusion to dressorasa and WCI with like one quarter and another made up ending for wano. They should have just waited until wano finished before making this game.
