as a millenial who grew up both kind of sheltered and kind of poor, I didn’t have a lot of games during my childhood and I never found out about piracy.
So I grew up with the PS1, PS2, Wii, but as I only played a handful of games on each console (and usually shit like Disney or Star Wars or LEGO liscensed games). So now I’m a neet incel adult and I have the opportunity to basically play all of the classic games I missed. There’s so many to choose from. It’s kinda great. Only real problem is I get called a secondary fan, which I guess is true, but I’m astrologically cursed to be a loner for the rest of my life so it’s not really other people’s fault that I can’t relate to them.

I was obsessed with Iji for a bit, because I've never played a game where the player character became mentally unhinged from killing people.

I mean MGS4 had the thing where Snake throws up if you kill a lot of people for some reason but it never effected the plot really.

I usually don't mind younger generations talking about older games. But when they start spewing buzzwords and shit memes left and right, it actually irks me a bit and start ignoring them.

I was watching everything in release order, and G was the first series that I made me drop the franchise for a good while. I hate everything about it, Domon has superhuman strength and agility, can catch bullets like a fucking DBZ character, and can somehow hold back a mobile suit's beam saber with a rusty katana. Its not a war story anymore, it became a full on shonen.

I still want to get through the entire franchise, but the only way I could stomach anything in G past episode 11 or 12 was to just leave on as background noise to listen to while I do something else.
The story is impossible to take seriously, and I don't like a single character in the show, not even Domon.

The only redeeming factors are that the Shining Gundam theme is nice and I like Mark Gatha as a VA. But other than that, this is easily the worst Gundam for me, and one of the worst animes I've ever sat through.

sweet spot is long enough before the revival that the older games are not yet marked up due to a resurgence in popularity, but still close enough to the revival that you don't have to wait a million years to see it.

G is the only one that this applies to that I've seen so far. Nothing else has been shonen, and pretty well grounded in reality, the only sort of super power thing that ever happens was shit with newtypes, and that's explained well enough, the move into space has caused man to evolve and gain heightened sense and shit.

I guess I can see how you can feel that way if you go into G Gundam not knowing what it is. I was already well aware of the wacky shit like pic related before watching it, so I knew that it was going to be stupid fun.
Don't know how you felt Victory was good though. How you feel about G Gundam is how I felt watching Victory. The single worst experience I've had watching through an anime.

I picked up dbfz and me and my buddy have been playing/learning together.
I'm actually at the stage where I win some matches online and nothing has ever felt as satisfying to me.
