I just beat Haruspex of Pathologic 1 last week. Shit's whack. Going back to the Changeling in another month or two.

I love how everything in the game has an opportunity cost, like the main ingredient in the panacea, when consumed raw, replenishes hunger, exhaustion, thirst and health, so if you have enough schmowders to save everyone by day 10 you can live off the stuff until day 12 instead of using it for panacea. If you don't, you have to make a choice to either gamble on the sick surviving another day or finding time to sleep and get food
the fact that just about everything in the game has that give-and-take design makes every desicion so weighty.

They revamped the script because the old translation was hard to read, at the cost of an added layer of surrealism

It's the translation. The english translation in the original was outsourced to some cheeky breekies, and quite insane. Like a russian version of engrish that's been run through a dozen automated translators.
The HD version has an actual, competent translation done by IPL themselves.

The Haruspicus knows the body is similar to the Universe.

It'll get you out of a tight spot in the Abattoir if you got slapped around by worms a lot but I can't remember if it actually eats into the max amount of panaceas you can make.

IIRC, inside the abbatoir there's one more source of blood than you get bottles from the worms. So you can drink it once without losing out on panacea.

that was my third playthrough though. The game's easy to cheese if you just horde walnuts and b-line for little girls at every playground

Pathologic 2's narrative is like a comic book compared to Classic.
I don't know if the Russian version was better written, but as much as I liked P2 I really did feel they completely lost what made the writing in the first game so enjoyable.
It's much more accessible and easy to understand, but lost all of its narrative flair if you'd played the original imo.

The artifice of a theatrical production and drama and tragedy in the Greek sense is absolutely hyped up in Pathologic 2, bleeding all over the dialogue and presentation of everything. It's still very effective, just in a different way than Pathologic 1. If you think it cheapens the game, as your condescending "comic book" reference makes me believe, then the problem is your taste getting in between you and the game, hindering. Get over it user.

Don't worry, Alphyna left so it's back to Dybowsky flair again. However I do think her writing added a lot to the Haruspex' playthrough, since hos route isn't about metaphtsical utopian bullshit or metagame narrative bullshit, and instead about just taking care of some kids and forming a community. Simple, soulful writing that brings across actual characters instead of metaphores upon metaphores is just right for him.

Don't know how it is in your country, but in the USA you can find supplements marked as such. You can also get a decent amount from fatty sardines, herring, etc..
