It's very good, GOTY contender.
A bit lacking in replayability. The final part of the investigation kind of comes out of nowhere and it's pretty gay that you're blocked from going to the island before the tribunal.
That being said the writing is very good, it's dripping with SOUL and I'm eagerly anticipating a sequel.

Very solid game. It's going to be divisive because it talks about politics which triggers people like nothing else, and it's very light on actual mystery/detective work that you can solve properly. You do get to solve individual parts of the mystery which is nice, but the mystery at large is railroaded. However, for me that was made up for by stellar original writing and style, great OST and a nice concise playtime that wasn't padded by anything. Really solid characters, unique gaming experience.

All the lore/plot revelations, some of which required huge skill checks to pull off (The Pale) had zero involvement with the culprit's motivations.

It's a good game. It offers multiple viewpoints, and truly lets you roleplay which one you want to. If you want to be a sensitive commie you can. If you want to be a violent racist drunk fascist you can be.

The developer actually talked about this, only for twitter. He said that online, people technically "read" things all day, but no one really *reads*, they just look at the text and pretend to have read it. It's why the dialogue system is based off of twitter and why a lot of it is meant to be provocative or instigative (for example, everyone calls you a "pig" in the game)

It's fantastic, but I wouldnt replay it for a good year or so if I ever did. The guy you play develops depending on what choices you make as him - which is why you can get people in this thread annoyed that they ended up a commie or whatever.
