>enter a 1v1 without a shield
the single most important skill in the game is Athletics, it lets you run out the enemy easily so you can have long 2h or polearm weapon and just strafe around/backpedal without enemy able to reach you, while you hit them

LIFE LIKE REALISTIC COMBAT

I did shit like that in rpgs when I was too stupid to realize I had to grind more. Is that really the optimal strategy for a game? It sure isn't "fun"

>the single most important skill in the game is Athletics
lmao just get a horse

nah, theres million strategies

You can be mounted archer, can actually learn how to parry and block, just command troops without entering battles, wear full plate and lol at people trying to hit you etc. The polearm+runspeed is just easiest if you don't want to bother learning fighting, but want to kill ppl

i bet most newfag horsefags don't even know that to raise athletics you have to travel on the MAP without horse even. And thats the skill that directly raises your HP too...

>enter a battle with a less than 2:1 troop advantage
You can easily win battles with 1:3 troop disadvantage if you only use archers, and without taking any casualties too

>fight opponent with shield
>randomly get hit because the shield isn't in front of you because of directional controls
Why did they added directional controls for shields exactly? All it does is randomly make a parry to not work, and kinda force the habit of spamming overhead swings for extra measure.

>And thats the skill that directly raises your HP too...
Its as if being a lazy fuck who rides a horse all the time is bad for your health.

>Is running around like a retard truly the most optimal strategy?

t. I'm a shitter

>bowmen during tournaments in Warband had a dagger
>despite not being able to parry, being careless would often result in receiving some pretty nasty damage
>bowmen during tournaments in Bannerlord have a short sword
>the weapon is so bad you barely take any damage without wearing any armor
Balance

>ask to defend town from group of bandits
>they show up
>number says 14
>i have 22 guys
>fight starts
>they have over 40 archers

does anything in this game work?

git
gut

Did you never play Warband, OP?

>multiple recent save files all corrupt when I was finally taking back the land of my almost defeated empire setting me back an hour+

I feel like I should restart the game despite pouring 24 hours into it already... I didn't even finish the main storyline because the dude I had to talk to was in jail.

well if you havent fixed the bug that makes half the armor not show up in shops you may as well start over

How fix bug?

Wait... do you need to start a new save file for the new patches to take effect?

Im glad they got rid of autoblock, it forced me to get good. I was missing out on how fun it is to manually block shit.

The snowballing of power seems like the biggest issue the game has now, it makes long-running games basically impossible. You have about a year or two before one of the factions just dominantes the whole world now, and then there is literally fuck all to do.

Bandits will join up with each other dude. Did you think you were the only one who could do that?

Yeah, it's great. What you thought we liked M&B because it was a power fantasy?

damn thats crazy

But I don't need to be in shape. I can just hire people to do the fighting for me.

The 45 reload corruption should be fixable by them, the game cant load games which are too large. So you can play that character again soon hopefully.

I feel like the reason why this happened was wood shops, it gave factions millions of coins to abuse by accident. Because the AI can own, profit and sell wood shops themselves, and unlike the player they have multiple starting from day 1.

stay on horseback

These are the the kinds of people who are leaving negative reviews and shitposting on Yas Forums. Look at him and laugh

Agreed but bannerlord has some heavy janky delay on blocking movements which makes it very hard to deal with two of even the most basic troop in close combat.
Also can't change the block direction while holding right mouse down.

yeah haha its wild af

>first time playing M&B
first rule of war is never fight fair
live by it son

>enter a 1v1 without a shield
>die
This is definitely a git gud situation. I could destroy you in 1v1 without a shield even if you had one. The rest is you still being in the early game. Bandits are stronger than early tier faction recruits so yes you'll lose 1:1 until you can consistently recruit tier 2-3 troops in large numbers. With that being said, recruit bandit troops into your army constantly, they're a godsend

turkish game design

Have you thought about you know, fighting with armies.

God damn, its not a 1v1 game, fighting is basically for self defence not the method of winning. Winning comes from good troops and having some basic tactics, even hiring companions is infinitely more powerful than one player.

Is there full plate in Bannerlord? I've only seen mail and lamellar so far

No its inspired by a time period before plate was a big thing

Have you ever done a bandit hideout? If you ever get to the end you've pretty much got to do the 1v1 or else you get slaughtered

My woodshop only gives me +120 gold

What does the eye icon next to some towns and villages mean?

>you've pretty much got to do the 1v1 or else you get slaughtered

objectively false

git gud

No, why do you twats keep doing broken content, after the first one I realised it was broken and didn't touch it.

This. The only thing the surprises me about the hideout problem is how some autists clearly can't get past it. Most people see the problem with it then realize it's broken and stop attempting them for now, but you see dedicated autists everywhere sperging put typing in all caps and you just know their ego can't get past the loss and they've just been reloading a save retrying for an hour.

>he bought?

>have 3 millions denar
>only own a shitty castle with +70 strong garrison
the scale used for money in this game is immersion-breaking desu. You'd be richer than the ((( Venetians ))) if this was real life.

Bring a bow and three rounds of arrows and pick them off one by one, and if several rush at you, you call over your little gang to mop them up before you continue going solo.

The only issue is when the hideouts start having 50+ raiders in them.

No, it's definitely AI lords being retarded, being stuck in a loop, starving their troops until they all leave and constantly getting destroyed by bandits (the non looter bandits cause insane casualties in auto battles, they have no problem slaying t5-6 troops when outnumbered 10 to 1) in certain areas, letting neighbours roll over them with ease.

devs for some reason never set the AI to hold their shields up when facing the enemy like in warband

Have they fixed this yet?

Attached: balanced.png (1812x990, 3.56M)

the aimbot bandits need fucking fixed. Especially in hideouts or at night

>can't win battles even with a number disadvantage
Have you not been upgrading any of your troops and using solely recruits or something
Also
>complains about the game being too hard
>doesn't turn down the difficulty
You have only yourself to blame

>"ugh, what could've been..."

I am surprised how fun the Battanians are. They feel like the new comfy Rhodoks and their cities are super convenient and close. Not a fan of Vlandians, their troops are trash until you've heavily upgraded them. Imperials are OP but fun. Sturgians look great, but its a one trick pony of axes and shields. Havent tried horse fuckers or sand people yet.

They are fixing it slowly each patch. Wait a week and ask again, but the game should improve a lot over the next few weeks.

I wouldn't give even half of a fuck if my cumanomongols had aimbot too

Forest bandits are op
If you don't have ~2 times more charge cavalry than they have archers you are dead

I dont understand what do you mean "fix" this image is perfect.

Quit playing on easy.

Imagine this except the city name backround is red instead of green and you have my map. I basically wen't on a spree of capturing a dozen castles only for them to be retaken before I abandoned the save.
