3 years late and 2 hours in. Why does this feel like an ubisoft game with a Zelda skin on it? It doesnt feel like Zelda at all.
3 years late and 2 hours in. Why does this feel like an ubisoft game with a Zelda skin on it...
yeah I bought a switch for this game.
I got bored after 3 titans and 20 hours in an bought Xenoblade 2.
It feels exactly like a 3D version of the first game.
Anything else isn't core Zelda so it can't be used to determine whether or not it feels like one.
The towers and a boring empty world. That's why.
It feels like a 3D version of the first game with a walk through walls code turned on.
It's garbage.
It feels like a great Zelda game, brilliantly tightly designed, with flaws that doesn't really diminish the want to continue. As far and best as they have been able to take the Zelda formula.
>PEGI
Lol.
>501728816
Pretty loose thing to claim when it plays exactly like every other open world game on the market. Do they all play like the original Zelda too?
...
garbage opinions by utter faggots
Because it is. People only called it ground breaking because it was a Nintendo game.
No it doesn't. The original Zelda had proper dungeons and your entire goal was to complete those dungeons. Botw has you just powering up enough to beat Ganon but none of that shit is required.
cope
You are wrong.
Is the virus bullshit gone? What a crap april fools'.
Cause it really is. Nothing about this game is unique and everything about it was a quick grab. People praise this game, and even game developers saying "We should all learn from Nintendo" as if this is their swansong moment. It was a shitty farcry, just cause, assassin creed, been 100 times before. They brought nothing new to the game and ruined the flow of zelda games.
You know, they kinda botched that whole thing, even if it is a cool concept, because it does screw up the progression. I mean, you can beat SOTN at low levels, but you still have a lot of game to get to, if you want an ending that doesn't suck.
Still a fan of Breath of the Wild though, as though the world is empty, there's so much cool shit you can do. Using time stasis to hit stuff across the map, doing some crazy shit with the enemies, messing with the weather, it's just all very cool stuff.
What I don't like is the shit story, the cryptic way you have to find memories, but overall it's a great game.
Not my favorite, but I'd say in terms of open world sandbox games:
GTAIV with mods>GTA:SA>GTAIV>BOTW>MGSV>GTAV>Kinda don't have much other stuff on my mind right now>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>Poopie-soft games
Don't take opinion seriously though, because most of the time, I like linear, more well-focused games.
t. brainwashed nintendo babbie
This. Also no Mario game with moveset more advanced than a singular jump is core Mario and Nintendo should get back to making 2D Mario games with only a single jump available.
>there's so much cool shit you can do. Using time stasis to hit stuff across the map,
How many times can you do that before you get bored? Once you hit 3 bokoblin camps with well aimed boulders there's no point doing it anymore.
>doing some crazy shit with the enemies,
Like what?
> messing with the weather,
Oh yeah, using electricity arrow during the rain was fun. First 3 times
Name 15 fun things you can do in BotW that are not the things above.
And so I don't have to move goalposts, I don't mean any quests, shrines, anything that is world design in general. What I mean is actions, like the aforementioned stasis throwing or shooting electricity arrow at a puddle to kill everything in that puddle.
I was ridiculously underwhelmed by the entire experience. It didn't give me what I'd want as a Zelda title (which is ironic since the original Zelda is my favorite and they were trying to 'return to their roots' with this one) and as an open world "TES" style RPG it felt extremely bland and pointless. I honestly never once enjoyed myself playing it and that's depressing. Other than A Link Between Worlds I haven't enjoyed a Zelda game since Twilight Princess.
Just finished playing Majora's Mask for the umpteenth time. That game was truly fabulous. It had everything you want from a Zelda game
>dungeons filled with combat and puzzles
>collectibles
>weapon upgrades
>secrets
>in-depth side quests with interesting characters
>interesting story
>appropriate tonal shifts; lighthearted moments amid a backdrop of sinister and foreboding evil
Not one ounce of this game is wasted. Everything, from the overarching plot revolving around the end of the world to the small details like the relationship between the skull kid and the four giants, makes this game truly memorable. It succeeds where so many other games try but fail, which is to say that it successfully elicits a range of emotions from within the audience and truly makes you feel like you want to be part of its world. It is earnest and genuine in its portrayal of humanity, despite that it's somewhat simplistic and easy to digest, and not emotionally manipulative like so many other games try to be.
The characters and scenarios in this game are charming and unforgetable, and I think that's an irreplaceable component of Zelda; at its core, it's a third person "action-adventure" 3rd person melee combat dungeon crawler with light RPG elements, but it's nothing without an ensemble cast that gets into a variety of scenarios that speak to the range of human emotions.
You help two farm girls trying to make it on their own fend off an alien invasion and rival bandits.
You help two lovers overcome their doubts and ultimately receive each other's hand in marriage.
You help the mailman realize that self-preservation is more important than duty.
You help the twin dancers learn a new routine and place the soul of a master dancer at ease by passing on his moves to a new generation.
You help lift the curse on a researcher who transformed into a horrible monster and reunite him with his daughter
And so on and so forth. Does BotW have memorable characters and moments like this?
No it doesn't because Zelda 1 still had decent dungeons and combat gauntlets. BotW's sorry drip feed of dungeoning with the shrines and divine beasts, plus how inconsequential pretty much all combat feels that isn't with a guardian, lynel or hinox is nothing at all like Zelda 1. Just because the game did the whole "walk out of cave and now you can go anywhere" shtick doesn't make it Zelda 1 in 3D. A Link Between Worlds was a more accurate return to early form and obviously that wasn't perfect either.
go watch some movies
this guy has good taste.
why is botw the most popular case "finally played this game and uhhh ITZ FUCKIGN SHIIIIIT????"
I swear I've seen this shit about 500 times now, why are people STILL trying to bring this game down by falseflagging and pretending to be unsuspecting new players then go "game bad" ?
get over it holy shit
>Why does this feel like an ubisoft game with a Zelda skin on it?
Because Ubisoft copied Zelda's older formula.
>with a walk through walls code turned on.
What the fuck are you even talking about.
Maybe you hate it because it doesn’t follow the same story and temple beats as Twilight Princess and Skyward Sword, and instead has you being able to travel anywhere 15 minutes in. It’s refreshing, and I take an ambitious open-world Zelda over another safe copy-paste Skyward Sword, but when it does get to very Zelda-like themes like temples, it’s underwhelming.
>consider this game a masterpiece
>still can't get into it because of retarded weapon durability
BOTW2 won't have that, right?
>BOTW is like Zelda 1
No dungeons means its not a true Zelda. And those shitty divine beasts don't count since they're too short and barely had any enemies inside.
Good thing there are more than just the divine beasts huh.
Also if they don't count for that reason then the dungeons in the 3d Zelda's don't count either.
>Why does this feel like an ubisoft game with a Zelda skin on it?
Its nothing like a Ubisoft game. In fact Ubisoft are making their games to be more like BotW.
>they don't count because I don't want them to
That's not how it works.
I agree they should have been tougher and longer though. Even redoing them with the limited gear when doing Champion's Ballad was piss easy.
>No dungeons means its not a true Zelda
It does have dungeons though?
>nonononono those don't count!
Ok lol
new horizons should clue in
Zelda - a series reknowned for its sense of exploration and adventure.
Majora's Mask - exploration is actually stressful because you have an onscreen fucking time limit.
No thanks.
MM is a spin off at best. Not a real Zelda. And James Rolfe already tore it a new asshole. And quite right too. I played this in 2000 and hated it after OoT. Figured it was just me so I bought 3DS remake a few years ago. Nope its still a fucking mess of a game. I'm sure it has its rabid fans buts its poor Zelda. And the dungeons and bosses are fucking garbage too.
>hey, I personally don't like this game
>YOU FAGGOT ARE WRONG FUCK YOU
I hate BOTW fans with a passion.
>MM is a spin off at best.
Bait. Discarded opinion.
it goes the other way around too, don't act like it doesn't, cunt
you may have been being facetious, but I think you're unironically onto something here....
I'll never understand how this is hailed as game of the decade, 10/10 across the board, masterpiece, "Best game I've ever played in my life". What is this bullshit?
>Reeeee no dungeons
Divine Beasts are your dungeons.
Shrines are mini dungeons
Legend Of Zelda
Doesn't even have Zelda in it.
Yeah MM is a spinoff.
>I'll never understand
Yup.
No, it doesn't.
>cunt
Thanks for proving my point.
How long until Doug gets here? I want to see arguments that devolve into literal nonsense.
>I personally don't like this
>FUCK YOU IT IS THE BEST GAME EVER
Other way around:
>BotW makes everyone seethe lololol it is 10/10 and game of the decade
>I don't think so, I miss dungeons and items like hookshot. Also I don't like items breaking, I think it is a solid 7/10 even with those flaws. I just wish it was more like Wind Waker or Majora's Mask
>FUCK OFF SNOYBOY! FUCKING SNOYBOYS IN DAMAGE CONTROL LMAO
>tfw you've never played a Ubisoft game
Are they all as good as BOTW?
You mean like how BotW is a bad gsme because too many people like it?
Yeah that guy is a schizo.
It's funny to watch someone be so sure of themselves when they're so wrong.
This board has a massive hate boner for this game, if you say that you like it you're just asking to be crucified.
I'll make a thread right now praising the game and you watch what happens.
lmao I wish any ubisoft game felt this good. Ive been so lonely for 3 years.
I'm sure that little strawman sounds more realistic in your head, champ.
lmao seethers are already shitting the thread up.
He's hilarious but I also absoutely hate the raging autist that he is.
I didn't even bother downloading the emulator, it really is an unlikable game for unlikable people
B-B-But TERRARIA!
There is a difference between not liking a game and attacking someone because he doesn't like it.
also >this thread won't be filled with false flags
you should've linked it AFTER you got the replies user, like this, this is not evidence for anything.
>I hate that game that I've never played!
>it really is an unlikable game
how does one make an "unlikable game"?
the only way I really know how is to implement a character like aloy from horizon zero dawn
Bullshit, Zelda 1 has content on nearly every screen and enemies are an actual obstacle you have to get through instead of just taking a wide berth around.
It also has more than twice the dungeons and significantly more enemy variety.
>There is a difference between not liking a game and attacking someone because he doesn't like it.
and people always get attacked for liking botw
based retard who never played zelda 1. you’re just parroting what they said about their inspirations
This might be bait, but MM really is the second worst 3D Zelda (SS is worse still)
>m-muh 2D games tho!
user we have to stop or we'll summon him.
Is there actually anyone in Botw that people can have a hatred for? Being neutral about, sure. But none of them seem outright unlikable.
