The moment you invite the 6th from the campsite you can put down the plot nooks sells you and recruit the 7th from islands. But you have to wait a day after you recruit the 7th before you can recruit the 8th even though it lets you put down another plot of land on the same day.

Pick a game/book/movie/anime you like and then think about locations described in enough detail that you can recreate them in AC. THEN think about places that would be "appropriate" to remake given the tools you have at hand.

For example, I'm doing Lake Shibire, which is a real place in Japan but was featured in Yuru Camp.

The real location is basically a circular lake with buildings at the North and South ends, so I'm trying to keep my buildings in AC as close to the southern edge as I can. I'm also stocking up on Cedar trees and leaving weeds where I don't expect the lake to be. Once I unlock terraforming, I can make the lake and start putting things into their final place.
