I feel like I am the only person on the internet who would be happy with Ribbon Girl. I played the game and I was surprised at how much I liked her, her double jump is really fun and suits my playstyle well. Plus her voice is really cute because it's a Japanese person speaking in English and she says ribbon all the time, and I like her cheerleader aesthetic. I don't know how well she would translate to Smash because her double jump would not be particularly unique there, but then again I'm not sure how most of the characters would work in Smash because ARMS characters really do not have a lot of moves to work with. They're going to have to either be very clever, or make up some stuff.
Don't get me wrong, though, I'm fine with everyone because the entire ARMS cast is cool to me, even the so-called boring ones. I feel the "boring" card is overplayed anyway. People spent weeks trashing Terry as a boring pick and then he turned out to be one of the most interesting characters in Smash.
I'm also excited by the ARMS character because no matter what, one of the rules is going to be broken. If it's Spring Man, the "no Assist Trophies" rule is toast. If it's literally anyone else, the "main characters only" rule is broken, and if it's Spring Man, Ribbon Girl, Min Min, Twintelle, or Ninjara, the "no spirits" rule is done. Picking any of the non-spirits like Max Brass or Dr. Coyle would confirm once and for all that the spirit/AT rule is a hard rule and we'd finally know for sure that we're locked out of getting certain characters, but it would still be a win for breaking the main characters rule.
Whoever it is, I'm sure some people will try to twist themselves to explain how it's somehow an exception, but most of us will know the truth. And yeah, I personally understand that there pretty much were no rules to begin with, but it doesn't stop other posters from clinging onto them as if they were written down somewhere. This however would stop that once and for all.
user you're taking this smash shit too seriously. You don't need to be writing essays explaining why you think a character is good. We have no sway over these picks. Nintendo has already chosen. All this stupid ass speculation is a waste of time.

There are 3 options for how this turns out - it's gonna be multiple characters in one - they'll announce a poll for people to vote in shortly - its going to be a new character from unannounced DLC or a sequel. I wasnt sure who i'de want when I was looking at this because so many of them had bad ass designs, but I am really hoping it will be Dr.Coyle. I love her design, her human teeth punching glove aesthetic and ability to float and villainous stature really helps set her apart for me. Honestly would be happy with a cgi trailer (or gameplay trailer) of mario getting the Springman assist trophy to beat down on bowser and other Nintendo villains, only for Dr.Coyle to come down and beat the two down herself. Just want that end trailer shot with all the villains laughing together. The only downside would be not being able to include Porky in it.

She has even less character than Springman, who actually DOES have some character, believe it or not. She has a regular anime ass face in a game that has its own visual style for the faces of every other character. Her design lacks originality or a theme, in favor if “generic idol girl” dress.
All the other female characters look and feel so much better than ribbon girl. Coyle and Twintelle especial run circles around her in every way.

Man I am glad I'm not the only one who had the idea that they might actually put Octoling in this pass. Everyone thought ARMS' time had passed but here it is getting a fighter so it's not too late for them to put in a fighter to represent Splatoon 2, since Inkling only uses Splatoon 1 weapons and they could easily get another moveset out of the weapons from 2. I don't see why they would put in another Inkling though, what name could they possibly call it? Inkling is already taken. Yes I know we have two characters named Roy but they aren't from the same franchise.
