ill admit the manual blocking is getting to me, but i think i thought up a neat replacement system: weapon durability

lets say to go from 100-0 durability itd take 3 back-to-back long-ish battles, and that blocking drains it quicker than attacking. theres 3 stages of damage

first stage you get a slight damage penalty
second stage you get a somewhat larger penalty and can no longer block at all (or just manual block perhaps)
third stage the damage is halved and changed to blunt (since your sword is too dull/axe head broke off/etc by then)

you can repair it in towns or villages (villages might be cheaper but cant repair to full or something) and you can repair it yourself with crafting. and maybe have a toggle to disable this system (as well as autoblocking) on a per-save basis

It's all the funnier because early game Bannerlord is categorically easier than early game Warband in almost every single department. Its easier to acquire troops, there are far more small enemy parties to take on and it takes FAR less time to become a vassal. Sieges are also far easier.

really, easier? imo the big filter for mountain blade is the combat itself and thats undeniably harder due to removing autoblock (i.e. garbage players cant rely on it anymore)

Since everyone is giving a meme answer, here's a real one: lower the settings from realistic to easy or very easy.
It's sad as it's just a repost anyway, and OP is just pretending.

I'm playing on a 3570k, 16gb ram, 1070 gtx just fine with settings on high/medium. I haven't done big battles yet so I may have to lower more settings depending on how that goes.
