Nobidy ever explained what the game is even about and you can't tell from looking at it. It looks like a kinda bland, confused mix of ideas with no real hook, like a time waster.
Also the look feels like an imitation of skull girls, without the soul or Charme.

the love for VP is 99% nostalgia. the game was never very good. the combat system was shallow trash and the sidescrolling/platforming gameplay was a complete bore.

It had very little of what made Skullgirls good, very little of what made VP decent, and offered nothing beyond "A mediocre VP clone made by the Skullgirls guys with a brand new cast of shitty characters no one cares about"
If they really wanted to make an action-y combat fighting game platformer why not just use the Skullgirls IP?

I heard a lot of the problems with the combat came from the fucked up difficulty curve that removed all challenge. Did they finish patching the game to address that? Heard they were working on it.

Amazing, it's like they changed their minds halfway through development and wanted to do an action platformer instead but they had promised a RPG so they begrudgingly had to make one.

The game has no identity of its own. It was a VP clone, it was a fighting game, it was an RPG-- and yet, it failed to grasp any of these points' strengths. Which, when I think about it, is what makes Indivisible such an ironic existence, since its failure is based on these divisible assets. By turning the individual into a melting pot, you rob them of what makes them shine. A VP clone with abysmally boring terrains to explore and forced back-tracking makes going through the world a chore. A fighting game with no combo list, inputs, or differential hitboxes (i.e., low, mid, high), isn't a fighting game, and the "combos" are only used to churn out the highest numbers anyway. An RPG with no actual RPG mechanics such as leveling, equipment management, town exploration, etc., is not an RPG. There's leveling, sure, but its superficial since the game itself graces you with set points in which your numbers increase.

The backer characters littered throughout the game make worldbuilding non-existent (or at the very least inconsistent). The voice acting is atrocious, and the only good one is the secondary antagonist who fucking dies halfway through the game. The narrative is barebones, inconsistent and a poor excuse to thread the protagonist through the game. There are only two good soundtracks in the entire game. I'm still salty about some of the character designs being changed and a large number of the characters being outright removed. A lot of the characters themselves aren't even fun to play since a few of them involve pointless micromanaging in a combat system not suited to micromanagement.

Indivisible is a solid example of what happens when your studio has no focus on what they want the game to be. It had one foot in the grave when the Lead Artist got fired, and I'm surprised that LZ can even continue updating and supporting this dumpster fire.

Aside from the obvious progressive stuff, the game's artstyle clashes a lot between the characters and backgrounds. Also the fact that LabZero had to extend the funding campaign THREE times before it barely reached it's goal even with all the crossover characters. Gameplay's also pretty bad and only AOE characters matter.
