Terran I guess. I haven't played that many RTS's admittedly, and do wish to get more into the genre. I'm also not very good at it, but booted up Starcraft for the first time in years and have been making a conscious effort to improve.
Favorite games so far are Starcraft and Warcraft 3. Haven't played Starcraft 2 yet... Besides those, I've pretty much only played Warcraft 1 and 2, and the first Command & Conquer: Gold (which kicked my ass).
I'd be interested in something similar to Starcraft with a faction that plays similar to Terrans, but with more than just combat (e.g. more 4x elements, diplomacy, shit like that). Is there anything out there like that?

yeah that was weird, i'm guessing it's because there's no ork equivalent in starcraft 2 for relic to copy so they had to be more creative, since starcraft 2 seems to be the only rts any of the dow3 devs played

Core is a faction of robots that decided that all biological sentience must be forcibly moved to the digital space. Arm are biological humans that don't wanna get killed by the robots. Neither of them are particularly nice after OVER FOUR THOUSAND YEARS OF TOTAL WAR, but I think it's clear that the Core is supposed to be the evil one. They also try to destroy entire galaxy in the expansion.
