when I have a free slot for a new villager to move in, how much time do I have until Nook sells the property to some random villager? murphy randomly moved to my island so im not mad at all, but couldve been worse

I’ve used 4 nook miles tickets, 3 of them took me to the same island and another took me to a new one but all 4 of them had no villagers on them. Am I just getting really unlucky or can I not get more villagers at the moment, I have 5 and the upgraded residents services so I’m curious if I’m story locked to 5 right now.

The same day you buy the plot.

Note that you can only get 1 villager from islands per day, so if you buy 2 plots in the one day, you can only choose the first villager and Nook will choose the second one.

Replying to you in case this helps others. If you're trying to invite an Amiibo card to your campsite, you need to do it three times (three days). On the third day, build the plot first, then invite the Amiibo to the camp site, and it will accept your invitation.

If you sell a plot of land, somebody random eventually moves in if you don't invite a villager from a mystery island fast enough.

If you have Nook miles to burn your best bet is to keep going to Mystery Islands until you get one with rain and a waterfall. Bring plenty of bait.
