Half-Life 2's remaster, HL2 Intercontinental Edition, will release alongside global Steam client

>Half-Life 2's remaster, HL2 Intercontinental Edition, will release alongside global Steam client

>In a move likely to help call attention to its other initiatives, Valve has two major events to unveil alongside Steam. The developer will release a Half-Life 2 remaster, dubbed the Intercontinental Edition, to select regions for free.

>With modders porting VR support to HL2 in the past days, there's an extremely high likelihood the Intercontinental Editon fully supports the developer's Valve's VR push out of the box.

what the ever living fuck?

what

Steam is done for. What the fuck are they thinking?

1st of April?

>After the critical success of Half-Life: Alyx, releasing a less graphically taxing version of Half-Life would be a great idea. The release should coincide with the Steam client's release while Valve and Nvidia join forces in a global community event. Users will be able to choose a charity to represent in the normal complete with prizes to win and teams that fans can join and compete for.

what the fuck does this even mean?

You all should've known Valve would fall for the subscription meme eventually. I guarantee like a year from now sales are going to be even worse and more sparse than they've been in recent years because they want to push people onto services like this rather than having them buy games outright.

>win.gg
That aside, subscription based Steam option would make sense.

>win.gg
but where is the evidence

more like incontinent edition LMAO

Calm down user look at borealis fanmade game

>Tyler's brain explodes

This is just going to be a glorified mod selection / upload interface for VR.

>Updates deployed to Dota 2 confirm that the Steam Client is coming to MacOSX, Linux, and Windows XP with native support.
>windows xp

can't wait to dab on favela monkeys playing at 5 fps

>the Steam Client is coming to MacOSX, Linux, and Windows XP with native support.
That's...... always been the case though

Reminder that Saber Interactive wanted to remaster Half-Life 2 back in the day, but Valve turned them down. (Then approved Hunt Down the Freeman.) And before some wanker knocks Saber, they're flavour of the month now because their Witcher 3 port for Switch is absolutely kino and also WWZ is good.

gaben’s gone full fucking kike again

>subscription service

Haha no

Surely this shit is gonna go down as well as paid mods

>will release alongside global Steam client
I hope they just mean the non-China version as opposed to re-uniting both clients together under censorship

Or down as the worst April 1st joke.

Who?
Also what the fuck is steam global client? Chinks already have access to steam, how much more global can you get.

XP CHADS RISE THE FUCK UP

THIS IS OUR DAY!

it will be curated only, only top games get put into sub service because they can generate enough players

and they will most likely be paid by how times the game gets downloaded by unique user

Is this translated from chinese or something ?
Seems really wierdly worded like those emails you get when buying stuff from chinks on Ebay.

is there any other news on this or is this some nigger tier bullshit?

Attached: 1522642003120.png (655x703, 233.01K)

It's the same shit as EA is pushing: catalog of games for a paid monthly price. Whatever, doesn't really change anything.

>subscription service
Alrighty then, GoG it is.

Users will be able to choose a charity to represent in the normal complete with prizes to win and teams that fans can join and compete for.

isnt steam already on those...?

so they revive windows XP support?

Just what this gweilo needed. Thanks Chang

What brand of monkey wrote this half english article?

Thinking HL2 needs a remaster when this amazing masterpiece exists.

Attached: maxresdefault.jpg (1280x720, 75.88K)

its fake, from a literally who retard. There is so many grammatical errors like its written by a kid.

consider the source and be consoled you retards, there's a 0.01% chance this isn't some ESL lie written to generate clicks

Attached: d0aca7f6f2123fc72f05fcf2f1b4fc26.jpg (550x550, 199.52K)

knowing valve, they would do something like this. They're so detatched from the real world. Remember when they announced that card game and they were confused on why people didnt like it? Yeah valve is just fucked.

>The release should coincide with the Steam client's release while Valve and Nvidia join forces in a global community event. Users will be able to choose a charity to represent in the normal complete
It’s just random ESL garble

>fell for the vr meme
>valve getting over confident.

Attached: a51.png (834x998, 145.76K)

They fear the pirate.

>Their inclusion comes with something gamers have never ever before, especially from Valve: a brand new Steam subscription service that offers players access to Valve's entire game catalog. It's not just Valve, either. Noth Ubisoft and EA have their own subscription packages that users can pay for.

Netflix for gaming has arrived

>the amount of retards and steam forum trannies defending valve for almost anything they do
>they do it because is innovative and because is good and evolution for gaming.
Have you ever gotten an urge to choke these type of people anons?

>no sources on any of this shit

This is the source.

This. Honestly, Valve doesn't have a big enough cataloge to justify a subscription service, though I can see them offering their old games for free. They likely would need to remaster or at least ADJUST HL2 to release in China. EA and Ubisoft have their own markets where they could offer their own damn subscription servives.

What might be happening is this is a china only thing, because it's hard as fuck to get into China, and the game culture is just different - nobody is dropping 60 bucks for a title. So these companies might be going in with Valve for a crack at the chinese market.

Mind you i'm sure if it's successful they'll try to bring it over here eventually. But for now I suspect this "subscription service" is a china only thing if it exists at all

watch the latest gabe interview, he acknowledges the failures of artifact and the steam machines.

this is a braindead argument, you're literally saying that because you feel like it should be true, it is even though the only info on it is some article made by a 3rd grader ESL.

fake and gay

I'll wait for an official update by Valve themselves, thank you.

>inb4 it's okay when Valve does it

>frog poster
Opinion discarded.

>half life
>graphically taxing
???

Epic just keeps winning.

FUCK VALVLE AND FUCK GABE

user april 1st is tomorrow...

Sounds like a load of bullshit. Fuck off.

are the niggers in this thread just baiting by acting like they believe this ESL site?

Which one of you fucking faggots used a monkey's paw

Okay Yas Forums.

Steam now has a monthly subscription fee.

BUT.

The orange box 3 comes out. every single valve game 3 comes out on source 2. it's glorious, the games are constantly updated, run on vulkan and look and play gorgeously. that includes but isn't limited to
> Team fortress 3
> Half Life 3 which isn't the golden god it's hyped to be though
> Left 4 dead 3
> portal 3
the monthly fee is 10$ USD and steam now loads a lot smoother and sales are slightly better like they once were, commissioned by steam. do you accept this fate?

Attached: 1558858706252.png (687x651, 698.24K)

You're a retard if you think it's a bad thing.

didn't they give HL2 it an engine overhaul in an update?
that's technically a remaster

sorry it was me, really dropped the ball on that one. Don't worry though I used my last wish to remove China as a competitor in the manufacturing industry

No I do not. Microsoft and Sony have a subscription and their servers run like dogshit. Also Steam make fucktons of money enough to fund servers for a 100 years.

>blast through the entire orange box in under a month
>cancel subscription

You son of a bitch

Attached: 1584879791533.png (765x803, 713.16K)

How is it a problem? Don't use it, problem solved.

No, I grew out of valve games

The word "remaster" has lost all meaning, it can pretty much be used in any context now

> blast through TF3 and left 4 dead 3 in a month
bruh?

Assuming Valve becomes devs again and the sales return to their former glory I think I'd eat this dick

I wouldn't do it for any other video game 'service' though

Remember that time Gabe Newell got downvoted as fuck on reddit because he was defending paid mods or someshit. Even reddit dont want to put up with Jew shit.

Attached: download.jpg (1280x720, 71.94K)

Other publishers have had optional subscription services for years, why is it suddenly a problem when Valve does it?

>selling your soul
bruh

I don't give a crap about valve games. As long as they can make jap games come out faster on steam, I don't give a damn even if it means they scamming out of their own fanbase.

tyler would have said something about this

>Steam now has a monthly subscription fee.
No it does not. Why are you talking out of your ass? Read the fucking article, retard.

Wait what would the subscription offer that isn't already there?

Because Valve is suppose to be exceptional. People get angry when they chase the new trend like they've been doing for years now. Paid mods, lootboxes, E-Sports and paid subscriptions.

oh shit nigga big brain move

Attached: 1582376084021.jpg (647x450, 491.63K)

Nah, subscription for entertainment is cancer aids.

>gone
Always was.

it'll only go down like paid mods if they remove features

I do not make purchases from companies that do not act in my favor. And subscriptions are not in my favor, so I will make purchases from companies that do instead.

not always, you can tell he doesnt have his heart in it anymore. I mean why should he even give a fuck at this point, he can do whatever he likes he has enough money that he never has to work again.

Welp guess iam an epic games drone now
Where can i sell my steam acc?

What I don't get is that people think this is something new. GabeN was open about his desire for something like paid mods years before it was a thing, and about exploring new sources of revenue. Dude's an ultra libertarian. Plebs didn't know this and suddenly acted like Valve were changing when in reality they were just realizing those decade-long ambitions.

Can I still buy the games?

Why would I subscribe to things I don't care for?

Cunt's former Microsoft that really showed his true colours in '04 - the rest of it has just been underlining it.

Remember Gabe Newell was praised for being a nice guys out for consumers? Yikes how that hasn't aged well.

Support for XP and Vista was dropped in 2018.

they literally just gave you a new half life game

looks like free games raping valvo santo, tick tock give it 2 years and steam is dead

Attached: whatwentwrongwithnuvalve.jpg (584x2334, 307.17K)

What does a subscription get you? Any game in the steam library?

Hey, this is Gabe Newell. NOW LISTEN HERE YOU LITTLE FUCKS! I own all of you, you are all mine. I can do what ever I fucking like. I want all of the money, not lots of it, I want all of the money in the world!!!! How else can I afford my private jet luxurious life style? I need to find new revenues, I need to find more ways to milk cash out of mindless Valve drones. I hated it, I hated every fucking second of making video games and pretending I like them. But look to where it has led me! Exactly when I planned. Now I can do what ever I like, I could ruin the industry if I wanted to. Fuck you all give me money!

Attached: download.png (600x800, 621.56K)

well if its something like the gamepass that'd be alright, don't think theyd do this though, would cut into their margins pretty hard
