Its a good game, but as we all know, only like 0.2 percent of steam users actually own the headset.
Who cares if Brazilians, Russians, Indians, Chinese and Hispanics don't have the money to play it? Makes it all the better.
Not from a sales perspective.
>VRchads have their throne cemented with GOTY
>zoomers and shitters seethe over Doom Eternal
>Bannerbros shattering Gaben's storefront for hours at a time downloading their new game
>REmake babbies put back in their place
Yep, it's been a good month.
>zoomers
>seething about eternal
eh? I remember a lot of zooms becoming interested in the original doom again because of shitty potato laptops.
I was busy playing the game.
Russian reporting in. It was pretty damn cool being able to read all the text and understating all the cultural references.
VR users spend an extraordinarily amount of money on games. Compare this to pancake shitters who only play f2p and abuse server capacities.
i was sucking on a Big Black Cock
I thought City 17 was in Serbia or Hungary.
As opposed to getting cancelled and never being released, just like 95% of stuff Valve did a past decade?
Valve can afford making experiments such as this, because of Steam sales. Not to mention there has been a shortage of Index, their very own hardware because of Alyx.
It's a mishmash of eastern bloc in general.
Mind translating that one?
Most of the architecture is inspired by the designer's hometown of Sofia, Bulgaria but there's a building from Serbia in the game so it's pretty much just "Eastern Europe" officially.
>everyone here wanting another half life game and completely missing the point to why valve makes half life
alyx is to show how good VR can be RIGHT NOW
I've played it through twice and I can definitely say, there's nothing else like it. It makes me sad, even. I have to endlessly replay this amazing game for a indeterminate amount of time before anything else equivalent comes out.
Huh? I bought a $200 headset, Pavlov for $10, and Alyx for $60. That only accounts for like 5% of my VR playtime, the other 95% cost me nothing.
What do you even have to spend money on?
>shitty potato laptops.
to be honest the new doom is pretty impressive with what it can do on shitty machines
70GB is still a fuckton though
that's true for me
I bought the index at the beginning of the month when it came back, and spent another $200 on a bunch of VR games I'll probably never play for more than a few minutes
"A question that interests the prime minister. People. The entire world.
Wallace Breen, who are you?
Breen and «the Black Mesa Disaster»; What happened really? Page 3"
Why did you spend so much on a marginal upgrade if you're not going to use it?
>Why did you spend so much on a marginal upgrade if you're not going to use it?
I didn't have a headset before, and it's the best way to play alyx.
PC CHADS WIN AGAIN
>Game flops hard
>BUT MY PAID REVIEWS
never change valve drone, artifact was highly received as well at the beginning, that's how valve shilling works
Not really. The difference in quality between it and the option that's $800 cheaper is trivial.
Like ordering an extra slice of cheese on your hamburger but paying five times the price of the whole thing for it. I figured your experience would be worsened by the weight of needlessly sinking that much money into it.
the controllers and 144hz is worth it
Not for $800. I'd pay at most $50 for that marginal upgrade. Certainly not nearly a grand.
This guy is an ass for resorting to food analogies, but he's not that far off base. I have an O+ and I really cannot imagine the 700 extra dollars an Index would have required would have been worth it. If you're willing to drop $999 on a headset just so you can have finger tracking (that literally two or three games even support) then you have far too much money or far too little concern about how you spend it.
Anyone getting an Index before VR has a library that justifies one is equivalent to the people who buy consoles at launch and have to wait years before they can actually play anything besides ports.
you clearly don't understand the cost of the technology then
>index sold out as soon as the trailer dropped
>then sold out again as soon as orders openes back up
>still sold out for months (in part because of COVID)
Pretty sure they met sales expectations.
>VR
>chads
Why do you think that?
The games can be as good as they want, as long as VR is not more affordable, it wont catch on. Considering Corona is likely to fuck our economy sideways, I'm not gonna spend a grand on a gaming peripheral. And my job is actually fairly secure.
>paid reviews
Without the Valve bonus, the actual score is more like 44, which is more fair and fitting.
VR is cheaper than a current-gen console. You can buy two flagship VR headsets for the price of a PS5.
>it wont catch on
You might want to look up the information about VR headsets sales after HLA announcement
anything that can't track behind you isn't flagship
name a single game where you have to put your hands behind your body
>a remaster of a 4 year old weeb game has a higher score than HL Alyx
OH NO NO NO ALYX BROS
WE GOT TOO COCKY
All headsets currently on the market can track behind you, either natively or via a $50 generic investment. Even without that investment, those that can't natively can pseudo-track via tricks, like gyro tracking.
What games require you to do complex movements behind your body without looking?
why exactly does Yas Forums care about some arbitrary number on a review site?
that number is meaningless without some sort of context
lol all the vr games have user reviews like that on steam no matter how bad the game and with just 20 minutes playtime.
its like you didn't even look and just pulled it out of your ass
It's because only niche weeb reviewers bothered with it and sucked its dick
sure thing senpai
>Selling out
>What is smaller quantities.
Met some hispanics that do have vr faggot.
>tyler mcvicker
So was the ouya, so was the steam controller so was (insert forgotten tech) they all were cheap being cheap doesn't make you look appealing when you got a group of people not giving a shit.
>can't reply with anything except racism
Hot
Cool now let's see it from a honest reviewer.

So has VR dragged PC down to console wars now?
>it doesn't matter if the games are great, the tech is too expensive
>w-wait, the tech isn't expensive? It's more affordable than other hardware? W-well, nevermind what was said in the reply chain! Now the games suck!
I am not the same user you replied to you fucking retarded nigger.
I never said you were, you absolute retard
>alyx is to show how good VR can be RIGHT NOW
So it's a display of how mediocre and incomplete the VR gimmick is and that the larger populace should just wait?
Half-Life: Alyx is a shitty game with its review score artificially bloated with paid reviews because Valve are spineless cowards afraid of bad reviews so they will buy paid reviews like the cowardly bitches they are.
>More affordable
>wait why isn't the numbers going up
Refer to my video that user had posted.

The price was never the problem.
That's weird. It's almost like I was explaining exactly that to the person I was replying to, who said the price was the problem.
you forgot the USA in your list of third world countries
T.seething spic or europoor
Sorry that your poor ass can't afford a fucking vr headset.

>VR IS THE FU-
OH NO VRBROS WE GOT TO COCKY AND OUR AUTISM BEATEN BY A BUNCH OF FURRIES!
VR would never be the future anyway. Character action games can't be done in VR.
Senua's Sacrifice works pretty well
Doesn't matter destroys the point of vr.
