Or was it just a concept that got gutted and left on the cutting room floor by Miyamoto changing the plot to be about Ganon?
So did this scene ever get explained?
The hell are you taking about!? Context you dumb fuck!
Link rolled his eyes and had to sneeze lol
some trippy dream sequence from Twilight Princess if I remember correctly
If you can't recognize the scene, then your input is most likely meaningless, as you most probably would lack the knowledge to comment.
You're probably on the right track. Game would've been amazing if they just let Zant be the villain.
gannon really did just feel tacked on at the end
would of been cool as fuck if they made gannon a fuck huge twilight beast and make the twilight realm the finale, something akin to void termina's body a big fuck you hulking beast, but then people just compare hyness to zant even more.
There were 2 or 3 scenes with Ganon before the end, including the best cutscene in the game, where the sages try to execute him & he blows them the fuck out with their own weapon which he later uses as his scabbard.
It was an allegory for the events at the very beginning of the Zelda timeline.
Link looks like that because the vision he was receiving allowed him to change perspective to different actors in the allegory. It's meant to be portrayed as a dream, and is surreal in that same way.
I mean yeah but the whole Zelda/triforce part felt like it was the secondary story to Midna and the twilight stuff.
Hell the triforce is kind of a minor aspect despite it being a great source of power, like hell zant wouldn't want some of that action.
>Game would've been amazing if they just let Zant be the villain.
I hated how they not only made ganon the villain, they also made Zant spooky/crazy/whatever, like completely undermined everything about him even though he was so intimidating and cool up until then
Why couldn't he just have been another aspirant for the power of the gods? Nah can't have that, has to be the trifecta
I get the feeling that Nintendo is terrified that if the main character isn't called Link, the town isn't called Hyrule, or the bad guy isn't called Ganon that people won't recognize it as Zelda. I got a similar vibe from BotW with Calamity Ganon. I may have missed something in the story, but there was absolutely no reason that thing couldn't just be called Calamity.
I mean his title was "mad king" so what did you really expect? I kinda liked the insane villain angle but they made him a bit too goofy which didn't really fit the serious tone that twilight was going for, majora's mask did a better job with the villain.
they should of made zant more cult like and less whiny and goofy and expanded apon the twilight realm rather then just having it as a one off dungeon.
you say that like the gba/ds games and tri force heroes don't exist.
Honestly, it felt really forced.
here we have a plot about an ancient group of sorcerers that attempted to steal the triforce in the past and warranted the gods stepping in to stop them, and a story about its Princess seeking to take back her crown--- EASILY a good fit for the cutscene with it being a warning about her seeking power for the sake of power and Its possible corruptiveness if she loses sight of why she's seeking that (for the good of her people rather than herself).
BUT THEN we get a really random new plot, COMPLETELY unrelated to what's been going on, showing us Ganon being imprisoned and killing the people who tried to execute him.
its very obviously another new plot being shoehorned into a pre-existing one and the people making the game told to make it work.
It's just explaining the lore for the Fused Shadow which is the big macguffin for the first half of the game (and the source of Midna's powers).
>you say that like the gba/ds games and tri force heroes don't exist.
They bombed
Probably leftover from some beta version of the game. I still think Twilight Princess is great, I can play through that game any time. I hope we get a direct sequel one day.
yeah twilight princess is kind of a mess in terms of story telling, it had in an interesting premise to say the least but squandered on because "lol gannons here now go fight him"
they could have at least made him look corrupted by the twilight realm and more beast like in his human form.
How does that have anything to do with Ganon being involved or not?
>you know I was really interested in this game, but then I learned they didn't have my precious pig/arab and so now I'm not interested
That shit does not happen.
Incidentally Phantom Hourglass sold more than A Link Between Worlds. Sales have nothing to do with quality though.
It was the backstory of Midnas hat to put it simple.
Yada yada people live in prosperity.
People get tempted by the Triforce and turn on eachother. (Visually presented by Ilia being about to kill Villager Link just for him to kill her first.)
the Twili (represented by 3 Shadow Links) use their freaky hat to kill Villager Link before he can claim the Triforce, and then gets BTFO'd by the gods.
The eye white ning was indicative of the people throwing away their humanity in pursuit of power.
I think Zelda's inclusion is pretty pointless too.
I think it would've been better to use princess form Midna (but just call her the Twilight Princess) and Zant as the new version of the triforce, but just as an implication or something hinted at rather than a direct thing that's shown with the triangles on the hands
And then there'd be a plot twist where you find out Midna the imp is actually the Twilight Princess and there was some parallel realm/time shenanigans that allowed them both to exist at the same time
wasn't that one cut-scene the reason why the game got a mature rating or is that a crock of bullshit?
That Link took Urbosa's strap on.
>Triforce heroes
nobody gives a shit about the plot of the multiplayer games.
Fuck, nobody would remember Vaati if it weren't for minish cap.
Controversial but I love this cut scene, one of my favorites in Zelda.
I think people forget that this was “the most cinematic zelda” at the time. And also Aunouma being a huge fan of twin peaks fan contributes to this dream sequence with a lot of potential meanings and interpretations. It’s kind of cool and bizarre for a series that gets a lot of flack for its straight forward story telling.
Little hints like this make twilight princess so weird. Like it’s a game trying to be ocarina and escape it
that'd me a far more interesting idea, if zant was power and midna wisdom where would that leave courage?
I think you'd reverse them for Midna and Zant actually, with Midna being so powerful she couldn't be killed and could only be forced into a lesser imp form because Zant has so much magical wisdom
Link's model being used as a stand-in to explain what's going on in the vision
ahegao foreshadowing
>I hope we get a direct sequel one day.
Absolutely never happening.
link cooms
What is Majora's Mask
>Trust no one, not even yourself.
that does work better plus it'd throw people off expecting the power one to be evil when really wisdom is.
courage could be missing from their world and that's why midna and zant would seek out the light world so they could gain power, zant to take over the world and midna to protect her people.
Wasn't there some spooky YouTube Poops with jumpscares made using this scene?
toon link is the cuter trap.
90% of people here lurk and it always come off as gay ass nerd shit whenever people bring up something fairly obscure and act as though everyone should know what they're talking about, Like when people talk about the different routes in FE3H and refer to them by the chapter title, why are you even doing that? The game's class names are said constantly and anyone who played the game will remember Black Eagles, Blue Lions, Golden Deer but nobody is going to remember Crimson Flowers, Azure Skies, and Verdant Spring or whatever hte fuck the chapter titles are. The names only come up ~10 times in your 40+ hour playthrough.
anyway the point of this autistic rambling is that this behavior is gay ass nerds pointlessly gatekeeping, even subconsciously
Literally Zelda Gaiden
Even normies aren't that fucking stupid. The reason they don't change the formula ever is because autistic ultra virgin neckbeards would have a shitfit if their precious zelda game was changed in any way. Also Nintendo never changes anything about their games anyway, they rarely ever experiment with their IP's.
i'm all for pointless gatekeeping - we have to keep women out of our games somehow, user
Zelda Gaiden became Master quest while majora's mask was a rejection of that idea, at least according to what Nintendo has gone on record as to saying in the past anyway.
Anyone read the TP manga?
then they need to make Link a chad instead of a twink.
which one? I've heard there's at least 2 different ones.
Reddit may be more your palcr6 normalfag.
Hero of Winds is a Chad though. Unless you're talking about any other Toon Link.
>tfw playing gamecube version of TP on dolphin in widescreen with high resolution
Fucking god tier.
A rushed game with reused oot assets they had to push out in roughly just a year.
I mean, it turned out good, but unless the team is being forced into that situation they stick to the formula.
>fairly obscure
>Game from one of the most popular and well known game franchise in existence that sold 10 million copies
Maybe you should just lurk more, retard.
I can understand why wind waker got alot of hate but really it isn't a bad game, it was just trying to be too cutsy which people didn't like.
plus aryall (aryll? arill? fuck.) was an interesting concept, she proberbly inspired linkle in a way.
Miyamoto took back control after someone dared make a better Villain than him.
Midna's going to get Link's babies, even if she has to wait 1000 years!
I'd argue majora's is a better game then OOT from a story telling perspective, it actually makes you care about NPC's with the time travel where with oot it was just "go do thing k bye" then "you did thing have a colored pog k bye"
Wind Waker is the second best game, with the best Link. Also despite the cutesy style, it went pretty hard. Exploring this vast and great sea is just fun.
Link having living relatives is a concept I hope gets explored more in future titles.
This absolutely. Majora's Mask is the better game, especially because of the story-telling.
You leave link alone, Twink's being fought over by an angry harem is my fetish.
No and it's really annoying. It's supposedly evil but then it turns out they're actually good and only work if Midna learned a lesson about caring and Midna can use it with zero ill effects besides turning into that big monster thing.
So Lanaryu was full of it?
>tfw I'm a twink
Can I get this happen to me?
Posted this in the "comfy switch thread" but it's moving slowly and haven't gotten any responses. So perhaps one of you guys could possibly help me out here:
I have a question about BotW:
I've recently started playing the game and I've been having an amazing time so far. I've also somehow avoided pretty much all discussion and review of the game (and I've never played a Zelda game before) so I'm really going in blind. I've also played the game "how I want to" which I've been told is possible with how they made BotW.
So I haven't upgraded Link too much. I have 6 total heart containers and two stamina upgrades, and this is after defeating two of the Divine Beasts. I also have ~130h put into the game so far. And I like the slight handicap this puts me at and I enjoy playing with this few hearts -- if I have to increase them because I'm dying too easily, I will.
>However, I seem to have potentially hit a barrier.
I've just made it to Korok Forest and I've completed the three Master Sword Trials. However, each time I try to pull the Sword out of the stone, I die because I only have 6 hearts.
Now, if you guys are aware of a way in which I can get the sword out without adding more heart containers, just say "there is another way" and leave it at that. I'll try and figure it out on my own.
However, if there is no other way, and it's really just based on how many heart containers I have, then I guess I have no choice but to upgrade.
I'd appreciate no spoilers if possible.
There's no way, you need 13 hearts
You can get the sword, and switch your hearts for More stamina tho.
You need 13 hearts so get ready to grind
You need twelve hearts to get the Master Sword, but I'm pretty sure you don't need it to beat the game.
There isn't another way.
No, you need the heart containers to get the sword, but you don't need the sword to beat the game, and there is a mean to change heart upgrades into stamina upgrades.
The other way is to not use the Masters word. You can March to Hyrule Castle whenever u want
>tfw you never be the cute hetro twink that the girls fawn over.
such is life.
Thanks, guys!
I actually won't need to grind since I have more than enough spirit orbs to get the needed 12/13 heart containers. I've racked up ~130h so far by exploring each new area I uncover pretty extensively, so I've found a good chunk of the shrines (I think around half of them).
I want to get the "full" experience of this game so I definitely want to get the Master Sword. Perhaps on a second playthrough I'll skip it. But this is my first experience with any Zelda so there's no chance I'll be skipping the sword.
Also, that's a good idea regarding the swapping of heart containers for stamina upgrades. I'll probably do that as a means of making sure I'm not too OP.
