Character has 1 hp left

>character has 1 hp left
>can still function the same as when full health
Any games don't do this?

RO2? Some role-playing games maybe?

Dank holes

from a gameplay stance, becoming weaker with less health is just horrible
becoming stronger with less health however, is extremely fun

Any game with limb-based health like Deus Ex and Fallout is sort of like this I guess.

Sekiro

RE 2 and REmake 2.

Advance wars

Depends on the game. It would suck for Quake but it fits in perfectly with Deus Ex or maybe Mount and Blade.

>tfw you play better the less health you have

Health isn't actual health, it's just a representation of your character's luck
All the hits you take while you have hp are non-canonical to the story, only the killing blow actually hit

now I understand

>still no game that unironically adopts this nomenclature

Theres a tactical rpg on steam that literally has luck as your health mechanic. Called uhh Hard West I think

In Monster Hunter the monsters get tired faster and start limping. Breaking parts also weakens their attacks sometimes.

in l4d2 you limp and run slower making you not able to outrun the tank and eventually getting votekicked

Advance Wars

Bushido Blade

In Call of Cthulhu Dark Corner of the Earth but it's limp based as said. The sound of you walking with a broken leg is really disgusting and well made.

In the last spiderman game you don't lose health, you lose instinct or some shit. Basically spiderman is dodging everything but the last bullet that kills him.

Tarkov

Space station 13, you get slowdown and eventually fall unconscious and slowly die from not breathing

Uncharted does this. Him dying is his luck running out

snake eater

Resident Evil, the lower your health the more your character's movement degrades. At critical health you're limping on one leg and are even more likely to be killed.

Unironically
Borderlands 2, Low health bandits will limp and move slowly, altough they still deal the same damage because:Guns, but the same deal with melee and wildlife
But at least it's visible that they are wounded

you stole that from Uncharted

Any games that do this? Sounds mad

The Banner Saga did this, it's a Viking themed turn based RPG I think, I played the first one a bit but got bored.

Dark Souls if you decide to do a red tearstone run (item that boosts damage significantly when at extremely low health, can be acquired early in the game right after the tutorial zone)

You have several skills in Nioh for this. If your health drops beneath 30% you become stronger, have more endurance or take less damage

Getting stronger with less health ? Nearly every mmo has a berserker-like class. some fighting games do that too like Tekken 7. A Lot of games do that.

>not adding a skill that reduce all incoming damage by 99% and the only way to activate this skill is having 1 hp remaining

Fear and Hunger

Dead Space. Your animations change, at least. Not sure if it actually affects mechanics.

Would be better if the skill gives 99% chance to evade instead.

Kenshi

You're slower. It mostly affects aiming speed and your melee if i remember right.

hollow knight has a charm that lets you do that, not very practical in normal play but it allows for some insane speedrun strats.

Weird that you're only talking about RE2 when I think every RE game does that.

It's always fun when it's an enemy. It can be fun if it's the player, depending on the game.

In recent memory Banner Saga and Tarkov

kek, glad i played it back when it was played for fun

not nearly all of them, though they all have a different idle/running pose for when you're in caution or danger. RE2 has you limp instead of actually running and it can really fuck you over if you don't have healing items for whatever reason.

most rpgs have something like this

Full dharoks set in RuneScape has this as an effect if that counts

most pointless skill you could make, unless the game rounds down and most attacks are under 100 or 50

In the first Assassin's Creed, taking damage was explained as you losing sync with your character because he never got hit

That's kind of cool honestly.

Brothers in Arms Hells highway is exactly that.

And the luck is granted from the cursed gun his father game him.[/spoiler]

Sif in Dark Souls 1 loses moves and gets shittier versions of normal moves when you it below half health or so.

It's the same in RE1, you're slow when hurt a lot.

Darkest Dungeon, Mechanicus and Dota got "gurt yourself to deal fuckload of damage" gameplay

Add me up on osrs. Grandslash

That changed idle/running did the same thing in every mainline re game. Hell even changing the equipped weapon changed run speeds so speedruns would remove weapons or equip the knife outside of combat for faster running.

Everyone knows you run faster with a knife.

>localized damage
>if your legs get fucked you crawl on the ground
What games does this aside Deus Ex?

Attached: 1584528756435.png (451x475, 260.21K)

>but you die to a single stray attack right before you beat the boss because you have no health

Fear and Hunger. My first playthrough, I lost both my legs and my character was crawling on the ground agonizingly slow.
It's an RPGMaker game though.

I always thought that's how Uncharted worked. You take 'damage' despite bullets missing, its more so an abstraction of enemies focusing their aim, your luck, and yeah maybe a bit of actual physical well being.

>everyone is a robot
>player character physically breaks down as he takes more damage but it doesn't impact gameplay
>enemies take limb damage that dramatically impacts their functions
>blowing their head off makes their targetting go to hell, destroying their arms renders them unable to attack and their entire torso can be destroyed which renders them a pair of wandering legs
This game was a fucking blessing

I had a thought for a skeletal ranged enemy in a game whose bones are both health and ammo. It grabs its bones and throws them at you, hit it and bones break off, its mobility is determined by remaining bones. Let it live long enough and it will end up a skull being drug around by an arm. Or maybe it should throw its skull at you and end up just an arm.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance... once you're bleeding and with almost no health, you can barely fight

And if you don't finish them off, they grow up to become Nito

Dwarf Fortess
Kenshi
Cataclysm DDA

Robocraft
You would design your bot to stay as functional as possible while sustaining lots of damage. It's easy to make design mistakes and 3 of your guns get blasted off with one smg shot because they were all treeing off of one exposed cube. Making sure to effeciently use sheilds since they were the only way to regenerate health
After all the updates they kind of fucked that up, can't really point to where.

I was just making funny looking shit. Like that time where I made a huge dick and my friend a huge cunt and we tried to put the dick in the cunt the whole game which was super hard because the designs weren't effective at all.

Runescape

I can't remember well but i think 7,62 does it unless it was one of the mods that comes with the game, talking about this game, it was awesome the way it handled HP you have regular HP points that dictate how much damage you can take in general before dying plus bleeding damage and then you have body type damage, if you take damage on your legs you can't run, getting shot on the arms you can't use 2 handed weapons or hit anything in front of you, getting hit on the torso and you loose most of your max carry weight, and getting shot on the head makes you see white wich is the worst because it blinds a character.

Lost kingdoms 2. you would limp when low on health

Paper mario Mega rush badge. Basically if you are at 1hp you do mad damage
