You mean like 1v1?

Are there rooms?

yeah

no idea, i assume theres a way to 1v1 online.
might need to add on switch first

Yeah I think friend codes are needed but I have never really checked out anything that isn't the party mode.

Whats your friend code? I'll fight you if you're still on

4203-1244-9049
ill make the room once you send

You know how to set it up? If not I can. Either way sent the request

sorry was in a match.
made a lobby on arena mode. dunno if thats the right one
holy shit dude, you have almost 1000 hours in the game

Yeah OG player. I'll go easy on you

damn dude. couldn't even touch you

You just gonna play for the trial? Or you getting the game after?

highly considering it. a lot of fun so far. though ill probably wait for a good sale
how are you getting out of rushes so easily?

I can teach you if you're gonna keep playing. You have a discord? If not we can just talk in the thread. It'll be slower though

Any ideas what they could add for a sequel outside of more characters and customization? I never got into arms because I heard how shallow it ended up being, but I really wanted to because of how visually awesome the game's world and characters are.

no discord , sorry
id appreciate any pointers

It's not as shallow as people say. Most people are just bad at the game

Haha not even sure where to start because you're so new. There's a ton you don't know yet

Adding another mechanic or attack to use during battle would be nice, maybe one that's character-specific. The game is already less shallow than people think, but having more actions available mid-battle would help make it feel like there's more to it than picking arms/characters/stages to counter the opponent for new players. I am kind of worried that would be too much to keep track of at once though since fights can already be pretty hectic.

is there some kind of trick to quickly retracting arms to dodge or counterattack or shield?
and sorry must be boring for you

Guess I'll start with the usual. A technique I call twitching. It's when you press dash immediately after a punch. You'll see your character move to the side a bit. This is a very crucial technique to learn. Its the foundation of advanced movement in this game

ive been doing that
saw your post about it in a previous thread

Good good. Then you'll likely have realized you can twitch multiple times after a punch depending on how you're timing your punches. What else do you remember from last thread? So I don't have to go over it again

Can I join?

thats about it, and i think dashing after blocking a punch. sorry I shouldve saved it

I can play with you in a bit

Makes me wish I had given it a shot. But I guess I also waited quite awhile to get a switch. Missed opportunity I guess

i dont mind turning it into a party room or something if you add the fc above

How do you use that? Is it just so you're not totally immobile when punching? Does it refocus the camera and make the punch you just threw home in better?

It's used for reacting to attacks and repositioning

I'd join that too.

You getting off for now?

left to add the other user

Much better lobby system, it being stuck to friends only is fucking gay.
Proper campaign, doesn't need to be Splatoon campaign level, but maybe a career mode where you get to manage stuff besides just fighting?
They NEED to get Naganuma to do the music for the sequel, his music would fit so fucking well, and it's needed after the music for the first one felt so generic.

damn you guys are both really good, that was fun to watch

damn bro you opened me up lol

Based ARMS wanderer.

I just sent a request now.

gonna leavw again to add another user

try joining the lobby im currently in. otherwise ill remake
only been playing for a bit and this lobby system is way better than smash

Did you DC?

Is there a place I can get more comprehensive advanced tips on this game? I couldn't find any on youtube beyond the braindead obvious tips.

It's better than Smash for sure but having to add people to do lobbies and stuff is annoying. Should just be able to name rooms and set passwords like other fighting games.

Some guy has a Twitter dedicated to tips. Jbpro I believe it was called. Not sure if he still updates it

Does anyone else not think a sequel is a forgone conclusion? It’s rare for Nintendo first parties to double up on a console. Splatoon 2 was quick but that’s only because they killed the Wii U prematurely

This guy? His youtube channel's got some nice tech on it too.

og guy, gonna head out for tonight. just realized its 3pm
hopefully you can keep playing in the lobby.

See you, man ggs

Good game bro

How the fuck do you download the trial only the demo seems free?

ggs. ill try and setup rooms a couple more times this week if people are up for it
eventually ill be able to take half the health off one of you lol

Thats the spirit. Keep going

Do you have an NSO? Head to the NSO section of the eShop, I'm pretty sure it's the first thing you'll see below

Haven't played in like a year, but I'm pretty sure there are.

That hammer really seemed like it should have hit you out of that flurry. I wish I knew how to play this game effectively.

I used to be better but I haven’t played in years

THE FLIPNOTE LEAK CONFIRMED THAT ITS RIBBON GIRL

HOW THE FUCK COULD WE LET THIS HAPPEN MIN MIN BROS?

I can teach you guys but it would really be easier on discord since there's no delay to post

Lets not do this in this thread

What controller is everyone using?

Pro controller

Pro controller - Jason

Looks I'm the only one with the joycons.

Pro controller. How about button layouts? I'm using the default with these face buttons:
X - Dash
Y - Dash
A - Guard
B - Jump

Not sure if it's any good or not yet. I had A and X switched for a while, but it was too much trouble to guard like that.
