Why does Star Citizen need more funding?

Why does Star Citizen need more funding?
How is $250 million not enough to finish the game?

You know how VRfags keep talking about how their shit is the future of gaming? Cloud Imperium is actually making that right now as the standard fare offering. No one will be able to compete for a decade once SC launches. It will be the game to end all games. It is the harbinger of the end times for gaming as we know it.

>he thinks they're still making the game
user it's either been finished for a year or it's not coming out

I can’t believe people are still caring about this scam

>finish the game
It will never be finished

imagine getting paid a fraction of one dollar to post this.

I have not given them a cent of my money but
I WANT TO BELIEVE

History repeats itself once more.

I paid $5,000 to reserve the in game name, Star Citizen Kane. When I enter a new zone I'll announce that Star Citizen Kane has just arrived. I paid another $2,500 for the global chat license to be able to do this.

>Bannerlord came out before scam citizen

Fun Fact: There is not a single crowdsourced MMO that has ever made it out alpha/beta.

Even if it does come out how popular could it be? Are space sims known for selling a lot? Seems like a niche genre.

You can already get a feel for the game with the modules, it plays like shit and the space combat feels no better than Elite. Fucking cope harder even if the amount of content they promised actually gets made itll still have a mediocre skeleton

Will never come out. But by all means keep throwing money at it retard.

But the game is already playable!
It's on the verge of being released, they're following a professional calendar now, you can see what's the stage anytime you want, it's all in their s8te

What a fucking idiot you are. Unless you're full of shit.

they need $500 millions to finish the game. $250m was just for the tech demo.

Post yfw you had an ounce of common sense and didn't fall for scam citizen

At this point it's more profitable to not finish it and Chris knows it.

Attached: hqdefault.jpg (480x360, 11.01K)

at least you can play the game right now. most kickstarter mmos don't even let you play them or they have an alpha that only lasts for a few days.

Its a new monetization model. They will never release it but will keep building it, maintaining the hype-filled dopamine cult that has formed around it. The symbiotic relationship will only grow stronger and pull more people in until all currency in the world is owned by cloud imperium at which point society will collapse back to the fuedal age. That being said cant wait.

Please shut the fuck up

Its a miracle it even came out at all

I have Elite, thank you very much.

Is it close to being done? What’s taking so long? Also why would people still invest after so long?

TWICE
IN
A
DAY

you're probably lying but i like you either way

That faggot Chris is going to get 900 consecutive life sentences when his entire scam falls apart.

No
They're still making money
Dumb simdads who want to escape their shitty life

Holy shit, and it would cost just $2 billion to go to Mars.

hey, i like you too user, you can be part of star citizen kane's cabinet

Sorry, but I'm not interested in playing a game where people have paid $20,000 for a ship when I'll only ever pay $60 at the most.

This is like a government project without the government.

People are stupid, and when I say stupid, I mean really fucking stupid, especially when they have actual money to burn. They're far less inclined to do some actual research on the game before dropping cash on it in the hopes of getting the perfect space game.. that will never actually come.

On that note, post >yfw you didn't fall for scam citizen

I just checked youtube and there's actual let's plays of this game, doesn't that mean it's already out?

>post yfw
okay

No, but you're allowed to interact with the game assets for a bit.

They're both in early access right now. Which one will be out of early access first is an open question.

How exactly does this game work. Is it like EVE Online? Can these people who spent thousands on ships lose them if they get destroyed?

Whenever I feel like I did something dumb, I just read the wiki page on star citizen and think of all the people who spent so much of their money on it and, to this very day, still defend it thinking it'll come out and it's all been worth it.

Then I feel less dumb and more happy,

It's nothing like EVE. You can actually play EVE online.

I put 600 euros into this... And, of course, now is not the time to go to the grey market because of all those desperate Americans trying to sell their shit to survive.

it's like an MLM scam but for autistic people instead of soccer moms

sad but true

hahahahahahhahahahaha

you spent $600 on a single game

and one that doesnt exist at that

ahahhahahahhahahahhahahaha

>He thinks this money laundering scheme is actually going to be a video game

how does it feel to know you're a gullible idiot? I've always been curious

Pretty much this.

The space sim genre has been hanging by a thread for decades, and Star Citizen was supposed to literally be The Best Damn Space Sim Ever. Not only was it meant to be a trendsetter, but that it would also revitalize the space sim genre as we know it.

Nine years later and.. not much has happened. It's really unfortunate.

They want to make a game to compete with EVE. It takes infinite money to pull off.

how do you waste so much money on a make believe game

Attached: 932858AD-C988-456E-9AD1-3346C41E7327.jpg (550x309, 40.63K)

Yeah this has to be some kind of money laundering scheme

It's not a real MMO, though it has multiplayer. It's the same type of game as Elite or Freelancer. If you blow up you get your ship back through in-game insurance, regardless of whether you bought it with real money or in-game currency, so nobody ever really loses anything much.

But why?

>Shenmue 3
>Devil May Cry 5
>a new Half Life
>probably System Shock 3 and even Battletoads

I'm more suprised by how it continues to get funding

No. EVE is a pure sandbox. SC is basically a PVE game with a few players thrown in the mix. The economy will be entirely controlled by CIG

pyramid schemes always need influxes of cash to keep the whole thing flowing

You say that like it's a bad thing.

So what, is it closer to Destiny than EVE?
