When DOA was popular (original Xbox era), it was the visually best-looking fighting game out there. That was the selling point, it just looked really good and the mechanics were "acceptable". DOA can't ever be a real horse in the fighting game race unless it reclaims that niche, and in order to do so they need a dedicated engine. Trying to cheap out and recycle Dynasty Warriors trash doesn't cut it.

Who ever it was that fired Itagaki. Ninja Gaiden and DoA died with him.

Venus Vacation will outlive 6. What they need to do is two things. 1. Make a decent fighting game (somehow they fucked this up with 6) and 2. Go all in on fan service and connect it to venus vacation.

So they're leaving the select screen with a massive hole in it. With how much of the game is a complete recycling of DOA5 to the point of reselling dlc costumes you would think they' at least bring back Gen-fu and Leon to pad out the roster.
