I feel bad for Kubo. Finished the series the way he wanted after Aizen, but the series was too popular and he was forced to asspull a way to get Ichigo his powers back in a quick filler arc. Then got tossed aside because the Quincy arc that Jump forced him to make wasnt as popular as planned. Given 10 chapters to finish up an arc that was suppose to last 100 more chapters. And he was constantly sick due to the deadlines ruining his health.

I think there was an interview somewhere where he said something along the lines of sometimes he just draws characters with no actual plan to use them at first, but then he ends up liking their designs so he tries to come up with a way to fit them into the story. Don't know how true that is since the interview was just a transcript posted on Yas Forums with no direct link to the original, but if it is true it would make a lot of sense.

Somewhat. It's a really mixed bag. The last 26 episodes are the arc where Ichigo tries to live his life as a normal human but gets caught up in some superhuman shit. It sounds dumb but I know people who like it. I think it's nice considering how it actually fleshes out karakura town again.

It served as a pretty good epilogue. The first couple of episodes tackled the whole 'What does Ichigo do now after he's lost his powers'. But ultimately, Ichigo can't go back to being a normal human after being a Soul Reaper so the arc tackled the issue of him wanting to go back to that life pretty well.

Honestly don't mind the lack of backgrounds in most cases, especially in the fights cause it's just unnecessary fluff except during scenes when their surroundings are getting destroyed. Sometimes do d it hard to follow what's going on when too much shit is in a panel and the lack of backgrounds in bleach makes it easier to follow along and makes the character expressions during the smaller scenes more memorable
