Reminder that the original is still a based great game with universal praise. This is what you nu-fans deserve for not wanting us to go back to fixed camera horror.

Why does it have universal praise? Its one of my favorite childhood games but I always thought it was kind of worthless. Not a single thing that happens in 3 has any impact on the universe. Its a borderline spin off
Brilliant game. The travesty of this new D3make makes me appreciate it even more now.
>Why does it have universal praise?
Because it is a good game.
It's a fun game. It's ok for a game to just be fun.
They nuke Racoon City
That wasn't in 2? That's not very impactful anyway. You know it happens
>The game introduced the NE-a Type
>Introduced the UBCS
>Contained tons of lore on Raccoon City
What are you smoking
>RE3
>Praise
The fuck are you on, it got the lowest score of the main entries games, and not that many fans ever put it on their favorite.
Who pay this chills?
Still my favorite RE game, but I'm going to enjoy the remake even if it's missing some shit. RE2 disappointed me on that front and I still ended up squeezing 100+ hours out of it.
Seeing all the leaks and reviews made me replay the OG RE3 and my god its sad what they did with the remake...well time to get back playing the superior version.
And none of that is ever mentioned again anywhere.
In REmake, Lisa Trevor was injected with it.
>pc version 2001.
you picked the shitty one, no one likes the pc version.
Reminder that RE3 received very positive reviews.
>Upon its release on the PlayStation console, Resident Evil 3 received very positive reviews from critics. GameSpot editor James Mielke considered it the most sophisticated and accomplished Resident Evil game in terms of graphics and gameplay. Official UK PlayStation Magazine called Resident Evil 3 "a modern-day classic", concluding that the game "creates a believable environment, populates it with a host of evil adversaries and uses Raccoon City's urban sprawl to enhance the fiendish puzzles." Computer and Video Games (CVG) remarked that the game preserves the best features of its predecessors and adds "some exciting new elements". Similarly, Edge described it as an "engrossing" game despite its similarity to its predecessors, and viewed the mercenaries minigame as a valuable addition to the game.
>The game's pre-rendered backgrounds were credited for their rich details and dismal art style. According to IGN editor Doug Perry, "Crashed cars, rubbish and rubble, totally destroyed city streets, and scattered broken glass and debris, all are housed in a suburban area that truly looks devastated in the worst possible way." GameSpot felt that the 3D modeling of Jill Valentine was greatly improved when compared to the "blocky" models in the original game. The music and sound effects received similar praise, with GamePro remarking that the game "keeps the action hot by hiding what you shouldn't see, but telling you about it through the audio." The introduction of the Nemesis creature was highly praised. Official UK PlayStation Magazine described the first encounter as shocking, while CVG said that the creature increases the tension level "to an insane degree" because the player never knows when he will show up.
What a legacy
Plus the user score is way higher than the critic score anyways.
>Metacritic
>PC version
PS1 version has almost all 10/10's
You guys really are sad poeple
User score is much better on each version. Either way, you are a fag that has been BTFO.
>Reminder that the original is still a based great game with universal praise
RE3 (original) is just a shittier version of RE2 (original). The series really started going down the toilet after the very first game. The first RE had it right: very few enemies, focus on puzzles and exploration. As soon as they started focusing on combat the games turned sour, and that focus started at RE2.
SO the insane screeching of that one guy who, it seems, turned out to be right - yes yes you were right haha moar like demake enjoy your orgasm -
What actually DID go wrong with it? I'm hearing it's basically rushed out, lacking both the content and the polish of the last one, and Nemesis lacks any big differences from Mr. X?
Looks like tacked on multiplayer killed another game?
How about you post the score for the PS1 version since that is clearly the one that matters.
The reason the ports got shat on was the fact that they had no improvements over the original.
So what's wrong with the remake other than designs?
All the development effort went towards Resistance.
Hmm, you are missing the PS1 on that image, the one that most people played.
Tons of cut content in a game that was already short to begin with. And Nemesis, the main attraction of the game, is just a shitty Mr. X ripoff.
>universal praise
That's how i know you are full of shit
>And Nemesis, the main attraction of the game, is just a shitty Mr. X ripoff.
this should be emphasized: Nemesis is actually worse than Mr. X. Mr. X functions like Nemesis used to, almost. Nemesis is entirely scripted in ReRe3. He doesn't hunt you, he doesn't wander around, he doesn't kool-aid man through windows. It's 100% Scripted chase sequences and cutscenes and boss battles
RE3 was considered a good game at release but inferior to RE2 which as we all know is a really bad problem to have. RE never stopped declining after RE2 and RE3 introduced problems that already hinted at the inappropriate direction the series was heading, giving you waaaaay more ammo than RE2 and adding the dodge mechanic, which made the game feel less survival horror and more actiony than the previous entries.
Nemesis, the monster, was great tho
I just replayed the PC version last night and it's a great port. Easy to setup a controller and you can skip door animations.
>he doesn't kool-aid man through windows
I noticed this. In the original he smashed through the window of the RPD. Cool as fuck. There's none of that unpredictability in the D3make.
the main issue is with nemesis, since the rpd and clock tower chase has been removed, he apparently only has 2 chase segments, which one of them was highlighted in the demo. reviewers are also saying he's more scripted in the other encounters outside of the 2 chases.
it's been confirmed by multiple reviewers all his encounters are entirely scripted
>game with universal praise
[citation needed]
Yeah I know. What a retarded design choice. Shows out of touch Capcom is.
Good. An invincible tank following you around is anti-fun. The entire idea behind Nemesis is gayer than sucking dick.
The last of the great RE games, before everything turns to irredeemable shit with RE4, RE5 and RE6.
At least RE7 managed to save the franchise, and first-person was actually really good for the series.
>Reminder that the original is still a based great game with universal praise
user, let's not kid ourselves.
Yeah, it was solid. But it was hardly a perfect game and it certainly did not have universal praise.
RE2 had universal and deserved praise. RE3 made some strides forward in some areas but also made several strides back in others.
Why'd they cut the clocktower and rpd encounters? I was fuckin hyped for this because Jill is my favorite character and she looks retarded.
>An invincible tank
I never even played Re3 as a kid and I know this isn't true, people would literally farm him for items
REmake is what brought the series back (in terms of quality), which released shortly after RE3 and Code Veronica.
>The reason the ports got shat on was the fact that they had no improvements over the original.
So then they are just as good as the original at least. Therefore review scores are dumb and don't matter. No wait they have never mattered. No wait, this is Yas Forums. Cringelords like to bait rather than enjoy good games.
>The entire idea behind Nemesis is gayer than sucking dick.
So you're slagging off Terminator 1 & 2? Very unbased. Fuck off.
>RE2 had universal and deserved praise.
yea cause they had shit taste.
I always liked the OG RE3's almost conspirator like tone that some of the collectible memos give off. It seems the letters and documents in the remake of this one sound like they were written by pre-schoolers though form some of the footage i have seen.
original was great, yes. i am so so mad and sad that they didnt do it justice with the re3make cash grab. holyyy shit, actually depressing that they wasted this opportunity for a cheap cash grab. sickening really.
>le false equivalent
Kill yourself.
Yeah one of the reviewers mentioned how so much of the memos are written like they're trying to be way too funny and it creates a dissonance with the seriousness of the outbreak.
It is releasing a year after REmake 2, based on that alone you know it was made by the "B team."
Zoomer alert
i tried to replay original before remake and it's boring as fuck
i stopped playing just before second worm boss fight.
Those were Dreamcast, Gamecube and PC versions. You fucking zoomer.
but it was being made along side re2r, they were suppose to release together but re3 needed extra time.
whats wrong with the pee cee port?
yea youre high if you believe that PR bullshit
The problem with this is that the original relied on the fixed camera to make these moments more memorable. It wouldn't be as surprising or spooky if you can actually see him burst through the windows.
>Not a single thing that happens in 3 has any impact on the universe.
What are you talking about? Nemesis infecting Jill and her subsequent vaccination is one of the most important things to come out of Raccoon City.
The entire Reason Uroboros was even so effective is because Wesker had Jill to use as a guinea pig, the mutated progenitor virus present in her body made her one of the few people on the planet naturally resistant to Uroboros, which made her an ideal test subject and furthered Weskers goals more than anything else.
That vaccine basically made Jill to the T-Virus what Sherry is to G.
>RE7 saved the franchise
Yeah no you're retarded because 4 did. 4,5, and 6 are terrible horror games but they're fun as fuck. 7 is devoid of any replayability, has the shittiest scripted intro, did nothing for the storyline even though RE's story was retarded anyway, they shouldn't have brought back Umbrella by making them trying to right their wrongs, should have made "Redfield" Hunk because that would have made more sense, and just terrible design choices overall. Molded were a terrible idea and should have added some hallucinations based on Ethan's infection and it was just wasted potential overall.
I actually don't think Molded themselves were a terrible idea.
The idea of weaponized fungus integrated into a soft-hive mind is actually terrifying on paper. The execution of it was just terrible.
So, first: I never played RE3 as a kid, I couldn't handle SPOOKS when I was young so it never showed on my radar. I'm entirely a secondary coming into RE with 4 as my first, and then these remakes. I was interested in RE3 as a chance to experience the hype.
Second: I haven't played Remake 3 yet, cause it just came out and i'm busy with Doom and quite frankly it looks like i'm going to wait for a sale based on what i'm hearing. So my information gathering is entirely secondary.
All that said, here's what i'm finding out: History has repeated itself. The original resident evil nemesis was never intended to be Resident Evil 3 - it was meant to be a spinoff/secondary game, and Code Veronica was meant to be Resident Evil 3. But then a new console generation happened, and Nemesis turned into RE3.
Squint at PS5/Xbawx3 in the distance now, user. Oh yes.
>Content - including whole area's and puzzles - have been cut from the game. This isn't like the other remakes missing certain enemies, this is literally entirely cut environments
>Area's from REmake 2 are revisited. They are literally cut and pasted, no changes are present in the environment
>No forking paths, only one ending - entirely linear 5-6 hour run through action set pieces and chase sequences to the end (puzzles mixed in, obviously). This is a huge departure from every RE game prior to 4 I think?
>Nemesis is less interactive than Mr. X, doesn't roam or hunt the player and doesn't appear randomly, appears at scripted points and fights/chases the player
>Game is more action oriented but it's mechanics have not changed from 2, resulting in some chunkiness. The sole addition is the dodge button which actually doesn't offer much, and an infinite knife that's greatly downgraded from the Re2 knife
1/2
so I should just believe some retard user pulling shit out their ass? nah
>6
>good
4,5 and 6 are trash.
It also drives further how fucked up Umbrella is in some of the the letters and environmental storytelling you see in the Dead Factory area
Nothing, it's a really good version. It's free on myabandonware and doesn't even need to install. Just unzip the folder and play.
2/2
Outsiders analysis: Remake 3 has been greatly truncated for two reasons, possibly 3.
First, the imminent launch of the next console generation made Capcom wary of spending too much in the way of resources on a game designed for a lame-duck hardware phase. We know the new consoles are coming in a year or so. Most modern AAA games are supported for 2-3 years, with the intent to wring further income out of players with trickle down content and DLC. Capcom likely simply didn't want to invest further resources in 3.
Second, the addition of the multiplayer mode - which I will remind you they announced BEFORE Remake 3 suggests someone at Capcom wanted to try and catch the asyncronous multiplayer lightning in a bottle, and mimic the 'success' of other games like Dead by Daylight. Multiplayer modes are an extremely effective way to extract RMT's from players, they also have a notoriously draining effect on singleplayer games. There was a period where publishers would absolutely not back any games without a tacked on MP element, and this ruined more than a few titles, ex. Spec-Ops the Line.
Tentative third, Capcom wanted to recoup the costs of developing the Remake2 engine, and invested comparatively little in 3 to save money, especially in light of the first point.
What I suspect happened is development of Remake 2 and it's engine cost Capcom more money than they would have liked, and this combined with the upcoming new console generation meant that 3 and it's multiplayer mode - which were originally meant to be stand alone experiences - got rolled into one project and one budget, with the intention that multiplayer would function as a 'value added' modifier to the title. A value added product being when you take something that would otherwise be scrap and adjust it in such a way that you can sell it at a higher price, like a butcher using scraps to make sausage.
And that's what REmake3 has become. Scraps, ground into sausage.
>4,5, and 6 are fun as fuck
How the fuck does retards like you have the brain capacity to post your shitty opinions on the internet, let alone breathe?
absolute low IQ posters should be banned from this thread, they clearly cant understand the wonderful sholock and completely over the top story arches that RE has had since the start. Go take your mid-brain and dump it down the toilet you absolute scum.
