the internet and it's bandwagon drones can go fuck themselves. But of course i already knew this since RE5.
I think the game is pretty good though it is not without it's flaws so i'll start with what is in my opinion the biggest one: The game can be very cheap, it puts you into a lot of overwhelming situations that require inhuman reaction times and on the fly reasoning for someone who is experiencing it for the first time and that results in your death. This mainly happens with setpieces, it almost feels like the game kills you on purpose just to show the death animation. I don't like this at all and i have no idea why they felt it was a good idea, the game already has a steep learning curve to begin with. This is my main complaint with the game, other than that you do fight a bit too many enemies with guns but maybe i just don't know how to deal with them yet, and also they got too stingy with invincibility frames, especially on recovery.
I like the gameplay quite a bit, it has the best control scheme in the series and by far the most complex gameplay, it's a true action game. All the guns and attacks feel satisfying and they look and sound great. There's a lot of cool and varied enemies to fight and all but those faggot snipers and machine gunners are fun to fight. The story is the usual RE kinda contrived business but it is elevated by the pure action schlok kino that is the direction. I love the way cutscenes were made, the direction, voice acting and motion capture are all top tier. I really like the intersecting campaigns structure. I like all the characters and their portrayal, they are all superbly acted and the ensemble cast aspect is pretty fun, too bad about no Jill and Sheva, they could have made an all girl campaign with them. The setpieces can be frustrating because of what i previously mentioned but they are fun in their own way, if anything for the spectacle. There's also a lot of game, basically 4 in 1 and you just can't knock that kind of value.
No, of course not, and neither is any RE game that was ever made.
Jason Ward
The main issue with this game is that it looks like a piece of shit. There's an area in Ada's campaign that's so fucking ugly (literally a fully brown area with red cages or something with a bunch of the same fat enemies with the same outfits) that I had to stop playing. Even Resident Evil 4, a game from a generation before it had more detail.
Ryder Russell
TL;DR
Easy enough to tell you're retarded, OP. RE6 is a very dark shit stain in the series. But you, of course, enjoyed it because you have shit tastes.
Hudson Brooks
The game looks amazing. I can't even imagine what kind of turbo autist you must be to think it looks bad.
>Even Resident Evil 4, a game from a generation before it had more detail Ok, you are a full blown retard.
Justin Baker
Appreciate the post. I preordered the game, had fun with it, a lot of fun, and I was shocked when I finally sat down to read the reviews. Its just a given among the "community" that RE6 is apparently one of the worst games ever made and I really don't see it at all. Its very fun. I still like it. I appreciated it more when I finally got down all the counters and dodges and the fact you can "bounce" on knockdown. The little nuances of the combat.
Elijah Russell
>no arguments >muh popular opinion
I literally start the thread with telling you to go fuck yourself. Why did you make me repeat myself?
Kayden Reyes
As someone who probably has more hours than you I can safely say that there are areas with the ugliest textures one has ever seen. Namely the buildings in the first chapter of chriss campaign.
re6 mercs is good too. only game i ever platinumed.
Brandon Howard
I feel like the whole thing is just one big circle jerk. I am not surprised at all that the sales do not reflect the bullshit and the game did very well.
>looking at wall textures with a magnifying glass I never understood this autism. But speaking of Chris's starting building, the skybox is actually glitched in that area.
Thomas Foster
>Being unable to harm zombies playing dead sucked
The gameplay is great but this is a fair argument. Doesn't this just mean that E6 id the only game where the "dead body on the floor" meme actually works? In any other RE game you just immediately probe them to see if they get up rendering the whole thing pointless.
That does get me every fucking time i boot u the game. They had to have done it on purpose.
I have yet to play it but it's probably fun. I've seen some gameplay and it looks like it has a better gameplay loop than RE5 mercs which is all melee all the time, usually the same melee move even. The only thing i hate about mercs is having to learn and memorize route layouts for the time bonus.

as a nice contrast to the people reeing about REmake 3's short length now, i feel this games length being too long is one of its main detriments. just feels so bloated and convoluted, and like 3 stories going on at the same time. which i mean yeah theres 4 playable campaigns but they don't feel all that connected, like theres the fog/smoke that turns people infected, AND also theres Ustanak that has fuck all to do with anything, AND theres eggs that make clones so theres an Ada clone running around. i only played this for the first time in December after years of hearing how shit it is, but i had an absolute blast with Leons campaign, and the ridiculous shit happening made me laugh. i had more fun with that than i did the entirety of RE5 single player . then i did Ada>Jake>Chris, and by the time i got to Chris, i was practically begging it to end because it just was being dragged along for so long. i think it honestly is better than 5, its funny in how dumb it is and how completely far removed from original Resident Evil it is. i'd say it does get more shit than it deserves, but i'm still not itching to play it any time soon and probably won't for another 3+ years
Oh i should have also said that i fucking hate, HATE that they put those fucking objective markers on the screen at all tmes and you can't get rid of just them. They even have a mechanic in the game to guide you along and it's much more organic and less intrusive then the fucking wayponts. You can tell this was a last minute panic decision by some suit after retard playtesters got lost. As a result i ended up playing the whole game with the icons/HUD off and auto reload disabled, which definitely improved the immersion.
Just break all of the time bonuses before you attack any enemies so you don't mess up your combo bro also RE6 is nice in that you can slide into them so you don't have to watch the animation
Jace Barnes
>likes 5 Yeah, you would be tasteless enough to like 6. To each their own, though.
Adam Price
>game too long
Literally never a detriment unless you are just copy pasting content and the campaigns don't feel connected? You can literally intersect your story with random players online. yeah, different things happen in the story how is that hard to follow? Have you never played RE? There's like 20 different viruses that make 100 different monsters.
Kayden Rogers
RE5 is hands down one of the best games in the series. For now like it more than 6.
Justin Morgan
>fucking objective markers on the screen at all tmes and you can't get rid of just them You mean the ones you can turn off in the options menu?
Jose Cox
yes user, agree I played it when it came out and enjoyed it very much. I kinda like how it can be campy and over the top. I like the cheese, especially when it is done well. Also the controls are snappy as fuck, sound effects and visuals on point.
This game is fun, period. And I am an original-fag RE kind of guy. Played 1-2-3-veronica, more than five times each.
Wyatt Russell
>replying to a post halfway through reading it We got ourselves a genius over here.
Adam Hernandez
A game can be too long if the gameplay doesn't hold water for long enough. Alien Isolation is a good example, it's great for like the first 15 hours but then the last 5 run on fumes with no interesting new ideas. 6 is kinda the same way except the structure lets it down more than the gameplay, after a while the CoD tier spectacle gets old and that kicks in before the 30 hour mark.
James Parker
The car chase sections looked straight out of Sonic Adventure 2 at times.
Chase Bell
Couldn't disagree more. 5 is not only my least favorite mainline RE, it's one of my most hated games of all time. Not even out of it not being muh horror RE, I have just never played a blander game in my life that I wanted to end sooner. I tolerated 6 better because at least that had more character despite being 3 times longer. Never in my life have I been more relieved to see a credits screen than after beating 5, goddamn it was such a bore.
Connor Reed
but that is not the care with RE6. The gameplay has plenty of depth and there is a large variety of enemies and settings, not to mention that it is broken up by setpieces.
>CoD tier Have you actually played either this game or CoD? This is a dumb buzzword term.
>HEY EVERYONE PLEASE READ THIS WALL OF TEXT ABOUT MY SHITTY TASTE IN VIDYA the internet has made sure that this heap of trash will never happen again. you can rightfully go fuck yourself though
Carter Howard
>RE5 >boring
I don't understand you.
Joshua Lewis
>ARGH ACTUAL ARGUMENTS AND OPINIONS IN MY SHITPOSTING FORUM! MY HEAD! ARGH IT HURTS!
>You just can't get rid of them >Then I got rid of them It wasn't worth the read.
Ryder Brown
Adas campaign was a complete afterthought. I dont believe it was planned but they just quickly slapped some shit together
Andrew Smith
And I don't understand people that like RE5. I'm sorry, after I killed my 6th wave of enemies I was ready to do something else. Instead, I spent the next 6 or 7 hours pushing buttons but feeling no sense of personal enjoyment. Shit was soul crushingly repetitive.
Levi Morris
>and you can't get rid of just them >get rid of just them >just them >JUST >THEM
Nothing is worth reading when you have no reading comprehension
Carter Jackson
nothing is more boring than Revelations 2
Owen Allen
RE6 is fucking terrible
Caleb Wood
yeah bro, they just slapped together a couple of voice lines and motion capture data they had lying around. You're an idiot
Zachary Baker
I liked Ada's the most because it played the least like a co-op campaign.
Kayden Taylor
It had some good parts, Did you only play the first episode? The parts with the invisible enemies was nice.
Ethan Turner
Are you sure you didn't just have an haemorrhoid and or your cat died the week you played the game? RE5 is so much fun.
This is the only mainline RE game have yet to play. I liked Revalations 1 well enough, will i like 2? Is it gonna have shitty enemy feedback like REV1?
Isaiah Jenkins
The mechanics have depth but next to no harmony with the campaign design. Half the game's setpieces are too cinematic to have fun with the mechanics and the other half are frequently hampered by shitty stage and enemy designs. There's a reason people celebrate Mercs in this game but shit on the campaigns.
Justin Lee
Shut up, DSP. The controls being good don't excuse the game itself being the worst parts of RE 4 & 5 with a story that's bad even by RE standards.
Evan Stewart
Look at this flaming queer
Cooper Reed
>bad even by RE standards That's rev1.
Zachary Walker
You clearly have nothing to say on the matter. RE5 is a one trick pony and I didn't like the trick. That's all there is to it. The game is hardly running with some universally appealing formula, you either like mowing enemies down ad nauseum or you don't. Same reason why I can't stand playing musous for longer than an hour.
Brayden Gomez
>yeah, different things happen in the story how is that hard to follow? its not, from what i remember it just feels like they all happen along side each other without having any real bearing on each other. >You can literally intersect your story with random players online i don't know what this means though, again i played it single player. i know stuff like you fight Ustanak in Leon's campaign etc, little bits of each story trickle into each others campaigns, but is there something else to the online component that connects the stories in a more meaningful way?
i think overall i would have just preferred a single 12 or so hour campaign that focused on one or two of these story aspects instead of trying to be 4 games at once.
Yep, you sure sound like Buzz Buzzington, i have heard all of this before playing the game and it does not hold true. The only mechanic i did not make extensive use of was counter because i really suck at them. The campaign has a good balance of melee and shoot bang, you make extensive use of dodging skills, quick shot is very useful, cover is very useful, counter is very useful if you know how to do it. I have no idea what mechanics you could be talking about.
Samuel Hughes
>You clearly have nothing to say on the matter
and you do? Let me know when it happens, wouldn't want to miss it. Musous? RE5 has the most dangeorus enemies in the series after 6 by a long shot. Did you play on easy like a bitch?
Henry Garcia
played the first ep, pirated the rest
was thinking of replaying it and buying it for real this time since it's on sale but the fact that I don't remember anything about it is not a good sign. The videos on youtube make it look even more dull than I remembered.
Probably worth a playthrough but it's so forgettable and miserable. No comment on the enemy feedback unfortunately, been a while.
Jacob James
The only fun mechanic in that game is the hand to hand combat and it's locked to one character it's garbage
Dylan Morales
I would actually like to sit down and appreciate RE6's combat and mechanics but the campaigns themselves are so fucking boring and scripted that I just turn it off an hour later every time. RE6 definitely feels like a "Too many cooks" situation where you can tell that the people working on it had no clue which direction they wanted to take the game. Instead of tight, arcadey level design that would compliment the more over-the-top style of the combat, we get Uncharted/TR 2013 esque escape sequences, walking sections, boring key hunts that badly try to imitate the exploration from the classic titles and fail, WAY too many fucking QTE and vehicle sequences (people complained that the former in RE4 but RE6 just goes off the fucking rails) and so on.
Thank god I've already beaten it so I can just play Mercenaries 'til the end of time.
Dominic Jackson
>I like the gameplay quite a bit >the main issue is how the game looks It plays terribly and it has terrible design. It was a mediocre action game that was glitchy. I don't give two shits about the rest of the series when saying this, this isn't about it vs other RE titles. I put down this game quickly because it is offensively bad.
I really do contend that anyone who did enjoy this (and not just the multiplayer, which I am not commenting on) was a literal child when they played it.
Evan Cox
>its not, from what i remember it just feels like they all happen along side each other without having any real bearing on each other. Nigga, did you even play this game? The whole shtick of the story is that the characters do things that directly influence the outcome of what the others are doing.
>i don't know what this means though Whenever campaigns intersect, if you are online and there happens to be a player playing through that same intersection at that same time the game will match you together for seamless on the fly co-op. Like for example in that Jake/Sherry segment where they are fighting the chainsaw monster i the river while Ada is secretly sniping from the shadows to help them.
Christopher Morgan
Missing the point. I didn't enjoy killing wave after wave after wave of enemies for 10 hours straight. It's not that the game isn't mechanically competent, but when you're used to RE being a mix of puzzles, exploration AND action you kinda wonder where 2/3rds of that formula went with 5. Even 4 had enough non-action bits to make the next action setpiece feel exciting when it does show up. 5 goes almost all in on the action and burns out early as a result.
Christian Murphy
It's horrendous, but the core combat is good, so mercs is a fun time.
Jace Carter
I'm old enough to be your father, come back when you have anything besides ad hominems
