here what i DO KNOW....
in 2013 the day before the consoels sold....the base was 51/49 split...
SONY did however manage to sell alot of PS2 in the 2006-2013 window so the PS3/xbox 360 51/49 sales base DID NOT FULLY REFLECT THE REALALITY OF THINGS...
PS3 sales where only slighty ahead but PS2 and PSP sales combinned did hide the fact SONY was very strong going into PS4..
you think it was close....51/49 but it kinda was not....
for early buyers yes.....but for later buyers SONY had a massive advantage for the fact the older PS2 sales durning PS3 time line hide the fact sony base was MUCH MUCH HIGHER...
this is why most people saw it as close....
when it was really not.
SONY had a massive advantage in player base going into day 1 of PS4 sales...
THE SAME RULE WILL BE TRUE IN 2020...
107 million base right now vs 46.7 million..
that will be close to 115-120...(was predicted but with covid could be lower) VS 47-48 million.
new volume sales show PS4 at a solid 3 to 1 to a near 4 to 1 buyers advatage for 2020....
3 out of every 4 next gen buyers will be SONY based...

micorosoft would have to get those SONY base PS4 owners to buy a xbox...

and AT BEST.....you never get the HARD CORE PS4 user to use a xbox controller or like the UI or get used of xbox controlls in games..
young teens might change sure...BUT NEVER ADULTS...

at the very best...all it could ever mange to do is .......REMAIN THE SAME...
keep the base they have and not loose any more market share...
thats the best case outcome....
because SONY PS4 is far too strong and many left xbox FOR GOOD...

there no reason to buy a series X ...if your on PC...
game pass is 3 X cheaper on PC then it is on console...
and with FREE GAME PASS with PC hardware....all the time..
there just no reason if you have a PC or a laptop to buy series X....

what the point of paying $500 pr $600 plus a min of $150-250 for a 1 TB xbox memory SSD card.
