Ryu has the better projectile and also kills earlier

I thought Ken actually killed earlier with his shoryu, and that his better movement speed outweighed Ryu's projectile.
Did the latest patch change up Ryu's kill power that much?

The list is bullshit but they're more even with the recent patch because all of the buffs both shotos received helped Ryu more than Ken
The DSmash isn't really that interesting of an option for Ken, he can get potentially from tilts into command normals. But it is good for Ryu who essentially just got a stronger combo extender by 10%: Where his bread & butter used to be the likes of aerials -> light dtilt x2 -> strong dtilt -> tatsu/shakunetsu, it's now DSmash which deals 10% more or so.
The Tatsu buffs helped Ken but I'd say they helped Ryu more because True Tatsu kills early & has leg intangibility to beat small projectiles. It also opens up kill confirms from a wider range than Ken because the likes of Down Tilt from further away would still combo into true Tatsu when Shoryu doesn't combo

The fact of the matter is that Smash Ultimate is a game where almost everyone is pretty good but the ones that are less good are bad by comparison.

ZeRo played Smash with a hacker and apparently a bunch of weird stages are playable without the game crashing. Also they modeled some pretty interesting stuff that you cannot see normally in the game, like the castles in the result screen floating on crystals. It makes it feel like they modeled stuff in the game specifically with the intention that people would rip the models and use it to make their own stuff. Now that is soul.

Oh no doubt his Nair is godly, down tilt is a great combo starter, Up B out of shield isn't bad, also neutral B is pretty good for edge guarding. The problem is his game plan is just too damn one dimensional, there's a reason Ike saw big success early on and then fell off over time, and then fell off later. He's very predictable. And very punishable. He is "Nair the character"...

What the fuck kind of tier list is this where mid tier is 2nd to last? Trying not to step on any toes or some shit? Top 10 should be top tier, still top tier and high tier should be merged into high tier, borderline high tier should be mid tier, mid tier should be low tier, and low tier should be bottom tier.

someone finally said it. I'm tired of people pretending he's midtier. Mostly accurate list. Would move G&W, Ness, and Lucina higher but otherwise solid.

Pretty much the whole cast is viable. MkLeo plays Mewtwo and Byleth sometimes and gets decent results. I've seen Plants do well in certain matchups. Bayonetta does decent in bracket sometimes too. You can easily win locals with any character, and you often see mid tiers in top level tournaments

I wish we could trade Ike's ridiculous nair for a more well rounded kit in general, but Nintendo wouldn't revamp a character like that.

Corrin doesn't live up to any other character in the game-- Corrin doesn't have any great neutral tools and can't kill for shit. They're not terrible but almost literally everyone else has more going for them which is why so many (me including) think they're one of the worst in the game.

If a tier list only has, say, an A tier and a B tier, it suggests that the gaps between tiers are not particularly large. If a tier list goes all the way from A to F tier, it suggests the gaps are massive.
