No VN company is doing well or has been for years. The industry has been in a decline for over a decade for various reasons but gacha money is looking like it'll set in motion the death throes.

The biggest VN/Eroge companies are migrating to Gacha and mobiles in general, Type-Moon proved it to be the most successful case, Lilith Soft barely releases titles at this point, they went full mobage/mobile.

Dude, Mages didn't make Steins;Gate. It was a joint project between Nitro+ and 5pb. Mages was just a publisher, and they got into the mix relatively late, the initial 360 and Windows releases were published by 5pb and N+ respectively, with Kadokawa Shoten handling the PSP release.
I'm not sure if Mages actually owns the Semi;Colon series at all.

I first go into VN/eroge by downloading a bunch of shit via hongfire in the late 2000s and slowly bought physical shit in the early 2010s.

Pretty much what said. Long story short, this has been coming. Started back when visual novels became more story driven, which caused the rise of the light novel market, which were both easier to make and buy, which lead to them being the prime source for anime adaptions.
These days visual novels are just mostly being adapted into H-anime. Only way to stay in business is to have small niche that you cater for(fetish porn) or branch into other mediums(like what Nitro+ and Lilith are doing).
Few years ago I would've said that the devs could also try to start making stuff with basic gameplay, since that's immediately more approachable than something that's just entirely a visual novel, but with Softhouse Chara going under, I really don't know if even Alicesoft will survive.

Adding to this, the days of visual novels spawning insanly popular brands like Fate are long gone. Forget 500K copies sold, these days the devs will be lucky to move 50K of a full-price title.

I'm curious to know the current state of physical copies 0f VN and H-games.

Back in 2010, I remember going to Akihabara and seeing a bunch of shops selling rows and rows of VN/H-games. I vividly remember the shops were packed with otakus and whatnot.

Now, I'm guessing that we won't be able to see these anymore?

Not that guy, but C;H was enjoyable just for the sheer absurdity of it. Playing an unreliable protagonist that is absolutely delusional was a wild ride, even if the story overall isn't amazing.

There's still stores(or floors of stores) that specialize on visual novels and eroge, but if you go to Gamers for example, it's mostly manga and light novels now.

you know I've had this idea ever since I was in grade school about something like a slice-of-life Gundam series

it's about how the world is now at peace and no more wars are being fought
but now there's a huge surplus of mobile suits and gundams being unused
so some of these extra mobile suits get sent to schools to be used in performances during parades
in the new year at the MC's school, this model of gundam that no one's ever heard of gets sent to their parade committee that he's a part of as one of the mobile suit parade pilots
throughout the year, schools everywhere compete against each other, by trying to show who can pull-off the better parade performance with their mobile suits
and so, the MC, along with the members of the parade committee, go through a school year full of growth and friendship, while improving their piloting performance skills
there's almost no twist or anything, it's just straight up parade competitions between different schools using various mobile suits in formations

I call it "Parade Gundam"
