Yeah, the extreme reliance on team play while having zero measures to enforce team play means every match is a coin flip where you hope that your team is less retarded than their team. One person can easily tank the match with no recourse for the other five players. Combine that with not being able to play the character you want due to the meta and role lock and you've got a recipe for players hating each others guts.

In that past being a flexible player meant being shoved into the role nobody else wants to play, so after a while everyone gave up on being flexible and just insta-locked their favorite character. It's a team game that actively develops a "fuck my team" attitude in everyone who plays. OW devs are laughably incompetent.
