No. This hud crap that Skyrim popularized is pure garbage. The charm of games like those were exploration and using your damn brain based on descriptions you got. It was what made games fun in the first place. THINKING! This shit is made for brainlets that hate exploring and thinking for themselves.

Tifa was never a super unique character. She was a bartender that did martial arts, had a reasonably large chest and was a girl next door childhood friend.

Didn't play the demo as I like to play the game fully once I boot it. Demos are basically blue balls for me as they end when it's most fun.

It's been a long time since I played Skyrim, but I don't recall that being the option you could do. The closest to it would be to open console command and type "tm" but that thing disables everything.

You can't disable it unless you install mod for it. Console command 'tm' is only good for screenshots, as it disables every ui that exists.

Nope. No option to disable it without the mod to do so. Closest to doing it old school way in vanilla game would be to uncheck every quest in your journal so that there is no gps navigation that shows you where to go.

Issue with Skyrim is that it doesn't have writing needed for quests to work without navigation (as lame as it is).
In games that don't spoonfeed you with giant gps track marker, you usually have quest journals to help you out. Journals would give you details regarding quest that are needed so you could figure out where to navigate without getting too lost. In case of journal being useless with its description, quest giver would give you needed details where to look. Skyrim doesn't have that. ANY OF THAT!
Most of Skyrim quests in journal have simple description that doesn't say anything useful to you at all. Quest givers are also mostly useless as they act as generic mmo quest givers that tell you "Do my quest for me." without describing much regarding it. So for most quests in Skyrim, you would be utterly lost without said indicator of where to go since they lack descriptions necessary for you to figure it out on your own.

That ONE quest in the very beginning of the game where the shopkeeper's sister comes outside and shows you the way to the dungeon to get the golden claw back is such a fucking bait and switch. They clearly just did it in that one quest for the E3 demo and then never even tried to do it in a single other quest in the whole game.
