Before 2007 games were entirely apolitical. Games like Deus Ex and the 2D Fallouts could tackle deep social issues without any political propaganda. Japanese games are mindless nonsense not even worth mentioning.

Since 2007, video games have been infected with propaganda, becoming little more than political tools to inject destructive leftist political ideologies to children in there formative years. This was not present when oldfags were growing up.

Only a small fraction of gamers today are redpilled enough to have their own opinions, rather than the ones installed in them by modern SJW games. Thankfully most Yas Forumsirgins fit into this category.

deus ex has a strong libertarian bend to it, at least thats how ive interpreted it

These threads will always be tranny cope

Be as political as you want, just accept it comes with its own baggage. You make your bed, you lay in it.
The only problem with political games is they intentionally don't follow it thru to its logical conclusion.
Leftist politics are fundamentally destabilizing, the game should focus around the ruin of society and the abject suffering of all involved.
Right politics are fundamentally about preservation in the face of change, the game should focus on that hegemony being strong but transient.
Both sides of the spectrum think they've found the golden road when they both practice an extreme that cannot support itself.

At the end of the day people just don't like being preached to about failed leftist ideology, they do enjoy what most right leaning politics represent.

The weak will always fear the strong
The strong will always conquer the weak
Be as upset about it as you need to be, you can't undo the truth

>Leftist politics are fundamentally destabilizing, the game should focus around the ruin of society and the abject suffering of all involved.
>Right politics are fundamentally about preservation in the face of change, the game should focus on that hegemony being strong but transient.
Gee, I wonder which way you lean!

So can anyone name a game that actually preaches left wing politics at you, rather than merely triggering right-wing cucks by the inclusion of something that their worldview cannot abide?

I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal. I just don't lie to myself about the real world consequences of large scale political motivations or endpoints.
Go be gay if you want, go parade in the street. I don't care. But I also don't fault people who do care and don't want to see you marching down the boulevard with dildos strapped to your face.
I have no problem playing a game with a liberal mindset, I listen to people that are themselves liberal online, as well as conservative. Its almost as if a different viewpoint works over the other in different scenarios.

But look how indignant and pithy you got at the mere notion that I was some bogeyman you perceived. The problems we all face stem from you and the way you responded to the truth.

lol, you sanctimonious """"centrist"""" prick, look how little it took to trigger a complete rant about the superiority of your totally objectively rational correct opinions at the merest hint of contradiction. The only truth here is that centrists will always be insufferable.

I'm not a centrist. I am extreme in my stances, I just have a different stance for a different scenario because things aren't the same or created equal.
Go have your pride parade for a month, but the second I see you "educating" a minor on it I'm buying fuel for the chopper.

You seem positively unhinged.

You want to bust out the fascist death squads but I'm unhinged?

>Japanese games are mindless nonsense not even worth mentioning.

Kojima's games, kinda.

If you choose the libertarian ending in 1 you cause the Happening, if you choose the libertarian ending in Invisible War you cause nuclear Armageddon. Also, the original design was that you would be able to join Bob Page but it would have been too hard to develop. If anything, the game favors the JC-Helios option.

My favorite "leftist" games are Red Faction, BioShock 1 and Abe's Oddysee.

Lmao mate, you're the only one positively unhinged. Go back to your containment board.

>entirely apolitical

Attached: Richardson.png (1024x768, 464.44K)

>mfw obvious leftists' portrayals of their enemies make them look cool even though it's supposed to be satire

It's like the Starship Troopers movie.

Attached: unnamed.jpg (512x186, 22.57K)

/m/ isn't a containment board.

Just look at shit like nu Wolfenstein and Man in the High Castle, the left tries to portray it all negatively but they utterly fail at doing so and they don't even see why.

Deus Ex is fucking red pilled on globalism.

>entirely apolitical.

this is retard nonsense. even framing yourself as "apolitical" means you endorse aspects of a political status quo, and is inherently a political action.

why should I care that leftist politics ruin society? so what? why should I care that children are being "educated" about gays?

>deus ex was apolitical
>it totally wasn't against surveillance, global one-world governments, totalitarianism, and governments lying to their citizens to control them
I don't know how you expect to "btfo" the left when you can't even make your point correctly.

the head writer behind Deus Ex is very left leaning and he used early 2000's conspiracy theories to influence the writing of Deus Ex, which means he didn't believe into the message of Deus Ex but found it rather interesting

>I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal

You're fundamentally a right-wing lib and you've just gotten all your ideas from being passively inculturated.

In a Warren Spector interview he described the concept for Deus Ex as being one he had had for along time - and that it was based on "right wing conspiracy theories."

that's not because the creators are left leaning but because the creators are all the same nepotistic retards who have collectively the same ideology and same social circle, which causes a feedback loop of them praising themselves and getting incredibly out of touch with the rest of the world

Right politics are about preservation of money, nothing else.

yes, Spector was a nerd who witnessed the early days of the internet, just because he was really interested into the ideas of those conspiracy theories doesn't mean that he believed in them (at the time where the game was being created)

Kaiserreich has an obvious lefty writing for it
But god damn do I love uniting my country under syndicalism.

>I'm fiscally conservative and socially liberal
Literally plagiarized this phrase word for word from Philly DeFranco and a few other e-celebs. It's the go to catch-phrase for sheeple these days. Just say "I don't want niggers taking advantage of welfare but I don't care if faggots fuck each other in the ass". At least you won't sound like a robot.

??? those are the terms to describe those things user. If I worked on automobiles and said I was a mechanic would you say I plagiarized that idea from Henry Ford? No, those are the terms for those things.
Leftist policies in society harm the individual on a personal level, so I reject them for stable conservative measures (that still amount to change, just at a slow enough scale that the human mind can safety integrate it).
To go back to the teaching kids about prolapsing. It is dangerous to a young mind to even incorporate those ideas into their mind, as children. They aren't equipped to handle the ramifications or the reasons why it even exists. They will come to a warped conclusion.
They can learn all about it when they are prepared for it, they aren't prepared when they are 8.

I've got assets in the market, I just focus on low yield gains that have low probability of falling out from under my feet. Small incremental growth is proven to be successful. Large leaps forward always collapse under itself.

I have no problem with liberal thinking, just the rate at which they are injected into semi-stable structures that are upended by their inclusion.
Slow and steady is proven to work. Accelerationism in the manner we see today has lead to nothing but turmoil.

LOL

>that actually preaches left wing politics at you
Night In The Woods

>at least thats how ive interpreted it

And someon else interprets it differently. That's good writing because it doesn't tell you what to think, but explores the topic for the player to come up with their own conclusions.

Darth Vader looks cool, but you don't root for him in A New Hope

>tongue in cheek jab

Wow such politics. It would be a completely different thing if that part of the game featured mentally delayed large orange mutant named Grunald Drombt, and your player character would only be given dialogue options that sided with the writer's political bias because the writer forgot that he was supposed to write dialogue and not a blog.

>Deus ex being libertarian

Are you retarded?

It really bothers you that so many talented people who are capable of creating something spent that energy to call you stupid, huh?

Attached: mariochair.png (500x445, 222.82K)

When people say they want politics out of video games they don't mean they want political themes out of video games. They mean they don't want playing and buying video games to be considered as political action, and believe me there are crazy people out there who believe that consuming media they deem as unpure means you are a bad person, like in some kind of Orwellian nightmare. It's the kind of mindset that made crazy people think movie goers are sexist because they didn't want to go see Ghostbusters 2016, because obviously there can be no other reasons to not want to see a movie than sexism.

He says in the OP, every game after 2007 you dumb nigger

>needlessly confrontational and completely foreign in concept to the character in the game but intimately familiar to the one playing it
user...

Political radicals will straight up say "Everything is political." I know a lefty who was a commie agitator in the '70s who told me every single movie has an indoctrinating message. I think he was insane, but when it comes to the big budget, widely promoted stuff he's probably right.

Are you surprised that 90s Fallout games have edgy 90s sense of humor? There is a South Park reference in Fallout 1.

You probably don’t care because you’ve taken cocks up your asshole, maybe even right now

everyone in invisible war was awful
you pretty much have to play like a creepy psychopath to make it seem vaguely consistent, which isn't so bad cause it's fun

But you're the one who's concerned people are going to think something about you because of if you buy something. You're just as in the soup as they people you're saying are crazy.

Nobody in the real world cares if you saw a movie. Nobody is going to reflexively call you a bad person when they found out you never saw Captain Marvel. People have forgotten that the real world does not work like fucking Twitter.

>Only a small fraction of gamers today are redpilled enough to have their own opinions, rather than the ones installed in them by modern SJW games
This isn't true at all and you come off like a massively obnoxious and pretentious loser by saying it. Games are games, enjoy whatever you want.

>taking Yas Forums seriously
you dun goofed

Leftists reject the notion of agency. They think if something has a message that you as the individual are incapable of not integrating it into your world view. They don't understand the concept of seeing something and saying "that is stupid."
They think you are an automaton that will respond a specific way to any given stimulus, coupled with the notion that only one way of seeing it is "correct."

What if I want to enjoy fucking your mom and sister at the same time

Politics is cringe

stop getting identity "politics" mixed up with real politics

I'm saying in that specific screenshot the character in the conversation has no idea what a republican is so the insult makes no sense, but the player does know what that idea is so it being there makes sense if for the player.
It being needlessly antagonistic is a cut and dry sign that it is coming from a specific side and purposefully lambasting the other. It is political in nature, and preachy as it talks directly to you the player while you are role playing as someone else.

>There is a South Park reference in Fallout 1.
wait really, aren't the release of South Park and Fallout 1 just a couple of months apart?

I think well-made media with a political message is enjoyable and thought-provoking even if you fundamentally disagree with its message. A lot of what people call "leftist" these days has nothing at all to do with the common good and quality of life of the lower classes or alternative economic systems. Instead you get weird sexual/lifestyle shit forced in your face - it's more like exhibitionism. I mean, I love quarter ton ladies but I don't put fatty porn in my content unless it is in fact porn. It's rather tasteless and probably actually puts people off to the demographics you're "promoting."

I shot Nicolette in the face with a Mag Rail as soon as I could, and Chad was still all up on my dick. Now that's loyalty.

One word
Arcanum
Fuck off you gay redditor

To be fair a guy that watches A Serbian Film for fun is fucked up wether he's doing it ironically or not.

Hot take here. Games were not apolitical and they were just as political in the past as they are no. The main differences from then and now are simple.

One, they are presented thoughtfully, with Fallout giving you stuff to explore and putting stuff on your plate for you to chew on. Modern games are not presenting you with a plate of food you might not like though. They are force feeding you. They are not happy woth expressing their point of view. They want to force it down your throats whcixh should cause any himan being with any rationality to go hungry rather than be treated this way. Your hunger pangs will go after a few hours, the indignity of swallowing this treatment lasts forever.

Two, the politics they have chosen are pseudoscience and lies. Transgenderism is a pseudoscientific belief system. My body does not define my gender but if my gender is different to what I was assigned at birth, then I must change my body to align with my gender... because my body does define my gender? Pure nonsense. I can take Fallout's criticism of American culture even if I admire America, as it is a valid point of view. Tramsgenderism is unsupported nonsense. That is why people are repulsed by the presence of it, it is not because they don't want politics, it is because they want grown up politics.

ODDWORLD games are leftist only in a sense that.. i realised how dumb is to write this

That to be leftist is to be pro nature and clean enviroment

but year the main theme in ODDWORLD games is NATURE vs CORRUPTION

This is an important distinction. Identity politics are cancerous.

bruh

youtube.com/watch?v=249vWCD2neQ

it's not even about their political stance, the significant difference is that you can complete Fallout 2 by shooting Richardson in the face while not even talking to him because he's to you some evil dictator who stole your whole tribe and not some parody on neocons, meanwhile in the Outerworlds, you have to endure the PooInTheLoo who is "asexual, well not really i'm a lesbian now and you PC are friendzoned thihi".

There is a difference about being subtle with your politics and being pants on head retarded about it

>But you're the one who's concerned people are going to think something about you because of if you buy something.

You laugh now but there are still places in the world where you can get jailed and at worst even executed for holding on to forbidden media so it's not fully unreasonable to be concerned of groups like that. I'm not a public figure so I don't have much to concern myself with such things, yet. But what I am concerned of is mobs like that getting a choke hold on media, and they already have slipped in mainstream.

Ok schizo

Wanna know how I know you never played Fallout 1 and 2?

That is literally what VP Bird in Fallout 2 is.

You haven't played the game have you user?

Funniest thing is that Deus Ex was meant to be liberal but turned out conservative

If The Hub police Kenny dies in Fallout 1, the player character will say "Oh my god, they killed Kenny! You bastards!"

Attached: 1583881263646.jpg (3335x1403, 1.16M)

>this is what Yas Forums actually believes

Attached: 1582939194873.jpg (544x549, 58.23K)

so the writers guild of america striking caused a incredible decrease of quality of media which in term caused more and more progressive shitheads to get into writer roles because nobody else was there?

To be fair SP was popular right out of the gate

Its like those libs that write about right wing ideology and do nothing but support the claims without knowing it.
When a lib argues that voter ID law is racist they are just admitting that black people are too stupid to handle something all other people handle naturally. They don't even realize they are doing it most of the time.
Same thing with calling niggers "people of color" and thinking it is any different than saying "colored person."
They are bigots who don't realize it.

I have played it, probably before you were even born. Anyone who is not fully anal retentive can enjoy a good jab at anything. You'd have to be an idiot to think that republican joke offended anyone, because anyone who played Fallout 2 had to experience hours of sex and violence to get to that point in game.

That was my first point, subtle versus pushing it down your throat. Ir not even that, just subtle versus hamfisted and gauche. But I stand by what I said, if you seek the politics out in Fallout 2 and you are a Republican yourself, you can still enjoy it even if Richardson is a dickhead. Because it is, one, presented as a meal to enjoy and not a force feeding, and two, it is a legitimate criticism to say Republicans are dummies sometimes and most grown up people are fully accepting of this criticism. They just don't want pseudoscience and childrens politics in their games because they aren't overgrown manbabies.

>that one KR patch that made it overbuffed syndies to the point that even the best players couldn't stop the red tide
Ah the good old days, back before HoI4 was even a dream.

man what a train wreck of a year that would bring fourth a train wreck of a decade after it, 07 really is when everything went tits up

>You'd have to be an idiot to think that republican joke offended anyone
The user I replied to seems fairly assblasted about republican jokes tbqh.

>Fallout 2
>subtle

Attached: 1414262902376.jpg (200x200, 14.15K)

I just miss when things could be interpreted more than one way
instead of having talking points directly slammed into your head like a hammer

It is perfectly acceptable in its presentation. If not subtle, then at least we can say it is plain and presentable. It isn't just womanly screeching and resentment however.

There is a difference between clever joke for flavor, and copying John Oliver's homework for twitter points.
