So, Yas Forums, I've played Dark Souls Remastered for four hours now and I'm still stuck at Undead Burg. I simply cannot kill the Taurus Demon. Would it be stupid for me to buy Dark Souls II and/or III and pray that they're easier than the first one? I'd also LOVE to play Nioh and Sekiro but I'm afraid they'd be way too difficult for me.

Have you been dropping down on him from above? you aren't supposed to fight him fair

The drop attack is the most reliable move in the game.

Don't get 2, it's harder than 1. 3 is also a shit game in general so give it a miss.

That said, you have many options: you can go from Firelink to the New Londo Ruins with the elevator, then use master key to get into valley of drakes and take that route to get to Darkroot. You could head to Blighttown further east, but I don't recommend that. You could jump over the wall in the first part of the Burg to get to the depths early, or you can go to Taurus Demon again, climb the tower, and flick your left stick forward while you two-hand your weapon, hold R2 and you'll hit him twice which is a bug, but you'll do 4/5 of his health bar and then it's as easy as two more hits. Enjoy user, DkS1 is based.

Sekiro is harder than dark souls so don't ever try
What weapons do you have?, you can always pick the zweihander at the begining of the game, is a heavy greatsword that hits like a truck, you have to get past a few skeletons to get it
Kill the crossbowmen before fighting taurus, and just roll and hit, that's what this game is all about, when you time your rolls perfectly your character becomes invisible and receives no dmg, so you have to master rolling, on a sidenote, the heavier your equipment is, the slower the roll, so try to take your shield off for fast rolling, you can also avoid creating a knight since they are the heavier of them all.

>mfw when i first played DS i didn't even know there was a firekeeper downstairs or even less new londo ruins until i got the lordvessel

Yeah, I've done the drop attack. But when I drop down, I try to go back up the stairs but he just blocks my way and kills me.

I'll keep that in mind. Thanks for the tips.

I've got a broken uchigatana and a broadsword. Thanks for the tips. Hopefully I'll get him one day!

>Don't get 2, it's harder than 1.
It's not harder it's just worse in every aspect, 3 is just straight up harder though but with a lot more responsive and better gameplay

>But when I drop down, I try to go back up the stairs but he just blocks my way and kills me.
Have you tried simply dodging his attacks and then hitting him with a weapon that isn't a broken uchigatana?

3 is easy as fuck user what are you talking about? The only difficulty that game ever posed to me was being summoned for the darkmoons so I resorted to farming the silver k***hts.

This all day. 3 just feels better.

>I've got a broken uchigatana
Nigga what the fuck, you get the uchigatana like 10 minutes before facing taurus for the first time

Yeah, I'm hitting him with a broadsword. But should I make the barrel roll dodge? I have such a heavy armour that it's a clumsy dodge and takes a lot of my stamina.

3 has the hardest bosses but the rest is easier because you get less bullshit deaths.

>I have such a heavy armour that it's a clumsy dodge and takes a lot of my stamina
You should either have a fast roll or if you insist on heavy armour then use your shield instead of rolling. Most shields will block 100% physical damage.

Ehhh, gonna have to disagree there. Bloodborne and Sekiro had the hardest bosses, Souls has never really had difficult bosses imo, only thing that ever gave me actual trouble was Manus but then you realise you can dodge into him even on NG7 and trivialise the nigger.

drop down attack, use fire bombs, don't be afraid to block.

Don't act like dying in a boss room and then spend 5 minutes to get again to the boss room is good game design.
Thank god from realized not having fast travel was a fucking mistake.

I thought Bloodborne was the easiest desu. I don't count Sekiro because it's a totally different game.

It broke for some reason. I don't know why.

Should I use the armour that the skeletons have dropped? It's lighter, no?

the shield you start with as a knight has 100% physical damage block so just shield up between swings.

>It broke for some reason. I don't know why.
Weapons and armour have durability. You used tour sword too much without repairing it.
>Should I use the armour that the skeletons have dropped? It's lighter, no?
If you want to fast roll I suggest you lighten your armour yes. Theres a ring you can get just before the boss that lets you fast roll in heavier armour but the guy you fight is way tougher than the boss.

stand close to the Taurus demon, then when you dodge or block you have plenty of time to hit back. if you're up top it's easier to be safe by walking to the side or behind him

You mean the Black Knight? I've tried to fight him for a few times and I've always failed. He is so quick and strong.

You could always go to the graveyard next firelink and unlock the games easy mode.

This dude behind a locked door. He is much tougher than a black knight.

>3 is easy as fuck

What kind of shitty bait is this? Even a chimpanzee can SL1 the first Dark Souls game.

Fun fact, you can beat him by standing in front of him and pressing L2 and then R1.

You can easily run past pretty much every mob. Also name one boss fight more than 2 minutes from a bonfire besides 4 kings.

you can also easily SL1 DS3:
>go high wall
>get lightning resin
>Rape vort
>use souls to purchase bastard sword
>+10 it
>go farron keep swamp
>get dusk crown ring, free Orbeck, buy all his spells with your excess souls
>kill everything with buffs and op weapons

DS3 is babymode.

Here's how you beat taurus demon if you're struggling:
>Kill archers up the ladder first
>Start the fight
>Sprint back to the ladder and climb
>Plunging attack
>Get away from him asap
>Run to opposite tower where he was at the start
>Get him as far from the ladder as possible
>Make your way around him and sprint for the ladder
>Plunging attack
>Repeat until he ded

You can say that about every human enemy. Doesn't mean OP will have any chance.

Don't play it. It's basically jank garbage and only meme spouting nostalgiafags pretend this game was ever good when the sequels were superior in everyway.
>b-bbut muh interconnected world
LOL fromsoft drones are the only retards who uses this buzzword as if it's a metric of a game being fun

Get DS3 for the complete Dark Souls experience then play DS2 Sotfs for the rpg/adventure and pvp

Then finally you can play Bloodborne their best game

Grab the Zwei from the graveyard and slap on some gold pine resin, he'll go down in three shots and stagger for most

This but unironically even the remaster is worse than the base game LMAO

>Get DS3 for the complete Dark Souls experience
>cut content: the game is supposedly 'complete'
OH NO NO NO HAHAHAAHHHAHAHA

Learn about iframes then he won't be able to touch you
Also there's a chest with 3 lightning resins in it if you haven't found that yet that will help immensely

Based

Yikes

You know you can repair your sword right?

Dangerously based

>not having elite knight set, crest/grass crest shield and +4 astora straight sword before you fight him
Completely understandable desu

Yeah, but I was told that there isn't a blacksmith in Undead Burg. And I killed the skeleton merchant in Undead Burg as someone told me to do so to get the katana in the first place.

Taurus is hard on your first playtrough if you fight him certain ways. Trying to roll through his attacks usually fails, especially if you're wearing heavy armor and your roll sucks because of that.

His attacks are laughably slow and massively telegraphed. What more, despite how it looks, you can block most of them without any damage with a good shield. And by good shield, I mean one that doesn't let any damage through when blocking.
Simply stay cool, keep your shield up (not all the time to regen stamina faster) and try to make him whiff his attacks, then counter and back away again. Only roll backwards as the last resort, never roll to sides or forwards with him for maximum safety.

You can also do the plunging attack method like others advice, but I've seen some beginners get killed a lot with the ladder shenanigans. The first plunge is the safest if you dash right after Taurus appears, so I advice you do it just once as an opener and fight him normally after that.
If he gets you stuck right after the plunge (I've seen it happen many times), just keep your shield up and he should jump backwards after couple attacks.

Epic truth

There is a smith under firelink shrine

>master key
>kill butterfly
>dupe for infinite souls
>upgrade hand axe to +5
>kill Quelagg
>join her hot sister's covenant and upgrade to the pyromancy glove to +10 from her servant
>upgrade to +15 from Waifu of Izalith and buy her broken pyromancies
>bend the entire game over, poise tank 4Kids, gank the ever living shit out of Burg, 2HK Smough, and parry Gwyn with the lightning Falchion

The game practically plays itself

>>dupe for infinite souls
explain

You can dupe consumables in DaS by using it without actually consuming the item. You grab a boss soul and you practically have infinite souls.

elaborate further, still work in Remastered?

Drop attack, run to the other side to bait away from ladder, evade one hit, go to ladder and repeat

>dude just cheat and the game is easy lmao

A better question is why would you play remastered in the first place?

From what I hear, it was fixed, but the devs somehow managed to fuck that up and a new dupe glitch was found

Boy, early chaos weapon is just as good. Pyromancy glove is just retard proof.

If you can't beat Taurus even with the drop there's something wrong with you.

The non-remastered version was removed from the Steam store, pretty much. If you're coming to the franchise late and want to play PC, there's not much choice.

Just keep at it. You'll figure out the game eventually. Don't follow the advice of anons who tells you how to skip it, you'll just get even more stuck at the next boss instead.

You can do the plunge thing, but it's not necessary at all. IMO, Taurus is a fairly simple boss to really learn how to roll, so try to beat him "fair", you'll need those skills anyway for the rest of the game.

It might seem impossible right now, but eventually the game will just click for you.

Is PC remastered alive if I want to fuck around with PVP and Co-op? I already have PTD but that shit is dead as fuck

Pirate PtDE then. Remastered has no community, so you're not missing out on multiplayer.

I think part of the reason people find Dark Souls difficult is because the bosses terrify them with their ginormous size and equally gigantic weapon that deal quite a lot of damage but in reality they are not that bad. The secret to beating most bosses is overcoming that fear. You don't have to do a plunging attack over and over again on the Taurus, just dodge into his highly telegraphed attacks and punish. That's all there is to it.
And you have the Uchigatana that early in the game. Did you kill the undead merchant wtf?

PtDE's community is like ten times smaller than Remastered. Played both, and there was a depressingly small amount of multiplayer.
I didn't even get invaded in the Darkroot Gardens wooded area despite the fact I had loads of trouble fighting Sif. Hell, I didn't even know the Forest Hunters existed at all until I played Remasted.

There's an okay amount of players around.

>mfw I skip the Taurus demon just for fun even though he's a puny sack of shit, go through Darkroot and fight him last, killing him in one strike
