7, I genuinely liked most of the Pokemon, barring the ugly as fuck starters (except Rowlet) and the Lycanroc line. I like some of gen 8's designs but chopping up my collection killed mainline Pokemon for me entirely.

5 was the peak of the franchise. Every game since then managed to be worse than the last. I thought for sure Let's Go would be the lowest point the series could fall to but SwSh proved me wrong. What's worse is that the games, while being worse and worse, are selling better than ever, so GF has zero incentive to ever rectify their course and it's never going to get better, let alone good again.

Gen 7 is unfinished, but it's certainly more complete than 8.

I enjoyed it more than 6 but eh, that's subjective. Personally it was just because I liked the designs a hell of a lot more, barring a few. Gen 6 felt extremely forgettable in terms of new Pokemon because the temporary super forms took all the spotlight. Not even having a T-Rex could remedy it.

Ultra Beasts are great though, some of the best designs in the series. I don't particularly care about a Pokemon's marketability but Rowlet was insanely marketable.

The removal of various Pokemon and moves, extremely linear routes and lack of overall content outside of raids and the Battle Tower, the fact that it's insanely easy to steamroll the game with the busted EXP system and extremely weak story and characters really outweigh any of the positives the game has.
At least the fashion is nice though.

gen 6 was the last one I played and I didn't enjoy Y too much but it was ok enough for me to buy and enjoy May's game, after that I decided that pokemon was no longer for me

Gen 1.

The new anime is going for that fujoshi audience, ash is now a researcher for a kanto professor alongside this guy named Go, they have adventures traveling to all the regions,

>ash has registered in the tournament to become world champion but since he just registered, his victory in alola doesn't count he has to climb up to higher tiers
>Go wants to capture all the pokemon, he is a personification of pokemon GO so he mostly trows a lot of pokeballs instead of battling
>Ash team is currently, his mr mime, pikachu, Gengar and Dragonite
>Go mostly fights using his scorbunny that evolved into raboot already, but he has a lot of pokemon already including a giant Golurk they found in unova

there's been a lot of gay moments with Go blushing in front of ash, Ash grabbing Go's ass and both of them slipping into akward poses, there's also this girl named koharu but she doesn't like pokemon and hasn't done much
