I think Fusion is the best Metroid game
I think Fusion is the best Metroid game
I did too until I played Super
I don't know why but the sound effects are my favorite thing about the game.
It's not the best, but it's up there.
I think OP is a faggot.
That's your opinion and you're free to have it no matter how much it disgusts and enrages me.
I agree but I haven't played Super.
Unironically kino
Based and underrated post. You'll get a lot of criticism from zero IQ cucks who'll screech that Super is the best in the franchise and that you have shit taste but keep that chin up lad. I believe in you.
I'm glad you do, it's not mine but more power to you.
That's mean, you shouldn't trick people into shitty opinions with fake encouragement like that.
Condescending wit is literally the lowest form of humor after sarcasm. You should work on ironing that out. Don't be so salty because you can't appreciate good game design and choose to cling to a hive mind mentality instead.
After playing Zero Mission Fusion bored me and I never finished it.
I also really like Fusion but I flip flop every once in a while between it and Super
That's because it is the best Metroid game.
Fuck off with this absolute garbage.
All their fucking animations are exactly the same.
That's pretty good. You're putting on just enough smarm to hide the obvious bait. I knew what you were doing and I wanted to argue with you.
>decide to play through the Castlevania and Metroid Games.
>play Castlevania up to Bloodlines/Rondo
>Load Up Zero Mission
>Controls are great
>Boss Fights are fun
>Platforming is solid
>Upgrade Hunt is completely tedious.
Please tell me the other bosses are fun.
I agree! It's one of my top 10 fav games ever.
And for Zelda, my fav is Wind Waker. For Mario, it's Legend of the Seven Stars.
How about for you, user?
It's my legitimate opinion that Metroid: Fusion is the best game in the series. I don't care what you think. But I don't appreciate it when Super cucks try to act smug and propagate fake news.
; )
hey I have this issue, I have like every issue between 2002 and 2010 I have no idea what to do with them
*blocks your path and rightfully takes Fusion's place as best metroid, despite being an unnofficial fan game made by a guy in his basement, but at least it had a million times more effort and love put into it than Samus returns, a shitty 3d game which was literally created by that hack who created other m and all the horrible shit in it*
I think the living armor set known as "SAX" is very hot.
has to be zero mission for me, with super coming in second
But it just takes Metroid 2 and reskins it with the features of Super
sounds like a lotta
>WAAAHHHHH I CANT ANIMAAAAAAAATE
to me
So what you're saying is that it's the best Metroid.
Maybe the Metroid team wants to actually make something different.
peepeedoodookaka is Weavil
It hasn't been working that well for them so far.
That's probably you projecting. I don't give a crap about animation at all.
But I watch it from time to time and this channel has to be the most repetitive crap on YouTube in terms of animation.
All his videos follow the same fucking formula.
>duurr what if the joke was SPEED RUNNING
It only gets so much praise because it's Nintendo but there are far better channels out there.
Maybe for you, cuck.
I agree.
Fusion > Prime 2 > Super > Prime > Zero Mission > the rest
>he likes Other M and Samus Returns
Not other M but at least they tried something new. Samus Returns was fun.
Samus Returns is good, romhack tranny
Been playing Doom Eternal lately and I want a new Metroid Prime with some similar platforming mechanics. You feel so much faster and more agile in that game, and that along with Doom 2016 really feel like more linear, combat-focused spiritual successors to MP. I really fucking hope that Retro doesn't fuck up MP4 because honestly, for as much as I loved 1 and 2, one thing I always lamented that those games always felt slower than the 2D games. I want a new FP Metroid that feels as fast as the 2D ones. Just the feeling of double jumping, air dashing, and wall-clinging feels so slick and fun, and really like something that feels like it belongs in Metroid. There have been so many games since the old MP trilogy that have gone forward in terms of mobility and movement in the first-person, like the aforementioned Doom, Titanfall, Mirror's Edge, Overwatch, etc., that I really hope Nintendo takes from those games and doesn't just retread the same old shit.
How is it tedious, are you going for blind 100% or something?
Fusion has the best 2D bosses in the series so I guess look forward to that
Fusion has the best atmosphere.
Super has the best finesse.
Zero Mission has the best fun.
2 has the best game about actually killing metroids.
I really want to see them try to port the Speed Booster to 3D.
Not even the best Metroid on handheld.
>3D shinespark
I really liked Samus Returns.
This is gonna sound fucking weird, but hear me out:
What if they added first-person parkour movement system to the next Metroid game? That way, they could implement the wall jump in true 3D without tying it to a context-sensitive ability like the Screw Attack, and you could tie the speed booster into something like instant acceleration and wall running over huge gaps.
God, yes. There's so many ways they could do it too. They could go for a straight 1:1 translation, where as you run, your Speed Booster starts to engage, yada yada yada. Or maybe make it some kind of air dash with environmental destruction properties or something. Just god, do anything to make the platforming faster and more technical, also more open for insane speedrunning stuff.

This is more or less what I've always wanted. Or even if they don't go full Mirror's Edge (which they shouldn't but hey, maybe incorporating some parkour elements would be pretty dope), at least give us wall jumping. It'd open up a lot of dimensions to the platforming and make it more like the 2D games but without having it be context-sensitive like in the old games.
I'd imagine then you might have to rework the Screw Attack someway. Or maybe not.
SR was fun dipshit.
I still laugh about how this fan made game shat on the actual remake so hard they had to sue.
SR was definitely good. Maybe it didn't really blow anyone's minds but it was still fundamentally a good game with some flaws.
I want the parry to return
The weapon UI immediately killed any interest I had in pursuing it, knew right there it was souless autism.
The parry gimmick ruined Samus Returns for me
You can literally ignore it, especially once you get ice beam
The parry gimmick could do with a slight tone down, but it isn't bad by any means.
>2002
>Prime releases after 8 years of no new metroids since Super
>Fusion releases literally the day after
>wait two years
>Zero Mission releases
it was a great time to be alive
fusion is pure shit
>dude what if we made the level design shit
>dude what if we dumbed down the exploration immensely
>dude what if we had unskipable cutscenes and a lot of them
>dude what if we forced handholding despite the game being linear as fuck already
>dude what if we inserted an OC donut steal and made him a focus of the story
>dude what if we tried to have a horror atmosphere but turned up the brightness to max and put save points everywhere so the fear of death doesn't exist
>dude what if we made the setting really shitty with the most boring areas in the series
>dude what if the music was completely mediocre and forgettable
>dude what if we bullshitted a new ugly biosuit but rehashed all the abilities
>dude what if we force in some half assed evil galactic federation shit
only thing fusion does well are bosses
It is very good but it is too easy. And fuck the original GBA screen, was too dark.
NO METROID SHOULD ONLY BE RUN THROUGH WITH NO PLOT AT ALL REEEEE
you can have plot and not have it fuck up the game. Metroid prime did it on the same day of fusion's release, and not only that it was far better than fusion's shitty plot
Honestly outside of the non-linearity, there isn't really anything in Super I feel Fusion and Zero Mission didn't do better. The bosses in Fusion are just generally among the best of the 2D era, the plot's better and does a much better job with its villain than Super did, the gameplay (especially movement) is generally tighter and the fact they opted to remove the Grappling Hook and X-Ray Visor was a good move because cycling becomes pretty annoying in the late game for Super.
Nah the parry was legitimately not that great and I say this as a big defender of SR. They need to tone it down if it does return or just use the button for something else.
I could also do without all the big GOD OF WAR LOOK AT ALL THIS COOL AWESOME BADASS SHIT HAPPENING crap that doesn't even really suit Samus.
It's not the best but it's one of the better ones.
