it depends on what you're looking for, really.
It's absolutely not deep and barely even qualifies as a battle shonen, but it has a charm to it that can keep you invested despite its pretty clear-cut formula of "make science thing as situation requires it"

It's enjoyable. The characters act like archetypes a lot but are still fairly endearing and the science parts are nothing mindblowing but are still serviceable.

I learned alot of britbong history by reading the Vinland Saga manga

I've only read the manga but it's great. It has the plot beats and "power" scaling of a normal shonen except it's all scientific advancement on a smaller scale. The first arc is ~20 chapters of them trying to make an antibiotic and it manages to be engaging. Boichi's art is gorgeous as well, and I doubt the anime matches it.

The anime isn't inherently bad looking. But its extremely plain looking, especially compared to the manga, which I'll agree is fucking amazing looking, even moreso for a weekly release.

It was an asspull of a logical deduction, rather. Don't know about the manga as I haven't read it, but from what I remember in the animu the only indication he got about his destination was the direction in which his trail led, and that he had packed up shop and left. I don't think that's nearly enough to pinpoint where he was going.

He easily guessed that Senku was going to build a gun to be able to defend himself from Tsukasa. The asspull is him knowing the ingredients for gunpowder and where to get it, even though he's supposed to be a STRfag and not a science genius like Senku.

I like that background, it's a rarity for outdoor environments in open world games to have this level of flora crowding the area, most games just have trees and bushes spread apart
