Name a better game.
I'll wait.

pokemmo
That's the best Pokemon game. But there's hundreds of better games outside of Pokemon.

Name a video game that isn't Cory in the House for the Gameboy Advance.
Hello 18 year old
cory in the house for the nintendo ds, easy
this is also my favourite pokemon game.
it hands down has the best soundtrack being equal parts orchestral while still managing to be super catchy.
youtube.com
i also like how they made your dadinto an actual character with weight as one of the gym leaders fighting him felt epic like you are trying to win his approval to continue your adventures.
Black 2 and White 2
HAHA, no
>Name a better game
Pokemon Gold played on an Atomic Purple Gameboy Color
heart gold and soul silver = best and most content
black and white/ black and white 2 = best story
pokemon ruby, sapphire, emerald = best soundtrack
pokemon fire red and leaf green = best trainer designs
Platinum, you stupid fucking queer. Kill yourself.
Based
>heart gold and soul silver = best and most content
HGSS is Pokemon: Quantity over Quality
Platinum and it's not really even a contest
>black and white/ black and white 2 = best story
Haha, no. Pokemon games were never story focused that's why when one of those happened it became not only highly divisive but overall shit, thank god for Takao Unno getting rid of it for the most part.
>HGSS is Pokemon: Quantity over Quality
That'd be ORAS (and didn't even have much content)
I can't, there will never be a pokemon game with such great quality, quantity and soul as Emerald.
>That'd be ORAS (and didn't even have much content)
Nah, its HGSS. The devs boasted about shoving so much shit into it, but any seasoned player knows that they didn't fix the core issues of the original GSC, they just propped them over to a new engine.
>here will never be a pokemon game with such great quality, quantity and soul as Emerald.
There's like Five: FRLG, Platinum, HGSS, BW, BW2.
Only 1 worth noting was FRLG, Gen 4 and onwards Pokemon just started being souless compfag shit
>The devs boasted about shoving so much shit into it, but any seasoned player knows that they didn't fix the core issues of the original GSC, they just propped them over to a new engine.
Nothing wrong with that; you just remake shit. In HG/SS's case that would have implied major changes into the games resulting in a more different game than the one you're supposed to remake.
Ironically, now they boast of removing it.
HGSS is goat pokemon, go back to your garbage bw2 nonsense with muh story
>Gen 4 and onwards Pokemon just started being souless compfag shit
Nah it's when the series actually started getting good and fixed up the issues of the predecessors, namely the introduction of the phy. split.
>FRLG
>BW
"Souless" remake in comparison and the starting of point of the series forgetting why it was good.
Don't get me wrong; I have my copy of FR and it's the best way to play Kanto but as a remake is pretty limited and suffers from gen 3 flaws.
>HGSS is goat pokemon
Not even the GOAT of Gen 4.
Pokemon Gaia
>"Souless" remake in comparison and the starting of point of the series forgetting why it was good.
BW or FRLG? Because the former was a breath of fresh air after four gens of seeing the same guys again. And the latter had great sprites and awesome add-ons in that gave it replayability.
Flat out wrong and the number 1 argument Unovafags try to defend it. It was a failure for all the good reasons, just comparing the route in the games is proof of how bad B/W was, just the tip of the iceberg.
First post best post.
The fuck are you judging a game based on story ai? Pokemon is better when you're constantly catching and training new Pokemon as you advance, not overleveling a single team to blaze through the metagame. It's a better game, get over it. It's not meant to be played competitively until you're done with the main game
you... had trouble with gen 4 gym leaders?
>Flat out wrong
How? Lemme guess because everyone is just a Kantomon redesign? Buddy, every region has a niche pokemon
>It was a failure for all the good reasons
It actually sold well for being a game in the final stages of the DSi's phase-out period. If anything the game exceeded expectations. Hell it was only a million less than XY and that came out in the middle of the 3DS era.
I'm playing Platinum right now. Catching every available pokemon as soon as I can involves a lot of backtracking, but it makes my progress from gym to gym seem much more impressive.
I'd be with you nigger but Sinnoh games and Rocket's gen 2 are the most uninspired parts of the whole series so a comparison between utter boring shit is meaningless.
emerald is the most comfy and alluring.
>It's a better game, get over it.
It isn't desu, you have to wait until the postgame because the level curve fucks everyone over and gives them shittier teams. Just look at this tripe.
Nah, had more fun with Platinums.
>Lemme guess because everyone is just a Kantomon redesign?
This was actually a very good thing; the real breath of fresh air.
>It actually sold well for being a game in the final stages of the DSi's phase-out period
And here's the number 2 argument. Reminding you, the sales numbers are "out of date"; a good chunk of it are because gen 4/HG&SS's merit not the game itself. Not many people notices this.
The two games are designed in fundamentally different ideas, where 4th gen and on fully expect you to be healing before every major boss, with some even forcing the heal on you before things such as Team Leader and a fee gym leader fights. The original two generations, and RS to some extent, expect the player to be running as far as they can on endurance, and the gym leaders are capstone experiences to the entire gym.
Put more simply, DPP gym leaders have five or six pokemon; GS gyms have ten to twenty.
>but Sinnoh games and Rocket's gen 2 are the most uninspired parts of the whole series so a comparison between utter boring shit is meaningless.
Cope. Cyrus shits on TR2.
>Only Pokemon game I've played
>Parents bought it and a GBA for my birthday
Once again OP obliterated by fp
Silver or gold
they have more content than that garbage game. Everything emerald is praised for, silver already had it.
>The original two generations, and RS to some extent, expect the player to be running as far as they can on endurance, and the gym leaders are capstone experiences to the entire gym.
That makes sense for Gen 2 games, but HGSS is a remake, a change up. So instead of giving us something new, they just recycle the same shit despite games like FRLG and Platinum hitting out the park.
Put Crystal and Yellow in "Another Game does the region better but can still be enjoyed" and you're golden.
I'd include LGPE in that same tier but a majority of the fanbase still hate it so it'll be a few years until I can talk about how much I liked it.
Currently playing through the old games region by region as SWSH severely disappointed me but also for a lot of the games I hadn't played the best version and I also never touched the Battle Facilities which I plan on doing now. Also gave myself the rule of only using Pokemon that were introduced in that region. Finished LeafGreen (only played Red before) and did the post-game and gave the Trainer Tower a try (Though apparently it's not a "real" battle facility like later games). Currently going through SoulSilver (only played Crystal before) and just got Surf. Won't be doing the Battle Frontier in that one since apparently it's the same one as Platinum so I'll wait until I'm in Platinum to do it. Also I just caught a Natu hoping to replace my Noctowl but its level up moves are awful.
Also every time I beat a new gym leader/rival/etc. or catch a new Pokémon I go on gelbooru to collect fanarts.
Platinum sucks
>Platinum sucks
Seething because his favorite game doesn't have one of these bad bois
>Start playing ORAS
>Get to the flower shop
>Pokemon stands out of the grass
>Sneak on it
>It's Taillow
>Shiny
Not even 1hour in, does the game give this one away, right?
It's just a boring entry
But.... Platinum has it....
I fucking love Emerald. Always have. I'm trying out Kaizo Emerald at the moment, it's hard as shit but that's what makes it good.
>It's just a boring entry
The same can be said about any of the others, only this time Platinum is actually good.
theres a certain smell these products had
i wish i could smell it again
If it's boring, it doesn't matter. Also you're wrong
>Also you're wrong
I'm not tho.
You're just proving what an autist you are by equating good Pokemon with number of Pokemon on teams and levels. Enjoy your game
Emerald has the best legendaries
>Box legendaries are cool as fuck, great design, unique, first ones to be part of the story, had the most in-game lore yet. Really memetic for some reason
>Regis stand out just by how complex it is to obtain them, requires metagaming as it has you use elements from outside the game to complete their sidequests. Culminates in allowing you to catch their leader in the next game if traded up, still the only Legendaries to work this way. They also have really unique appearances that isn't similar to any other Pokémon
>Deoxys was a mythical with actually decent amount of giveaway unlike Mew or Celebi which nearly nobody got, had an unique mechanic of changing form depending on the game
>Jirachi was the Mew-tier rare mythical
>equating good Pokemon with number of Pokemon on teams and levels.
That's how the series goes, yes. What, do people actually like fighting low leveled gym leaders like that of HGSS?
>Enjoy your game
Thanks. Platinum is fun.
Besed indeed. HG/SS is too easy. Comparable to SM
fpbp
Yeah, just need to look at when the seventh gym in x and y is 3.4 levels higher than that other game, that makes it better bro, case closed
The games progressions are vastly different. The Galactic fight is end game in platinum, the team rocket fight in gold/silver is like early mid game. I can't believe someone would lie like this
