I've tied, oh dear lord, I've tried. Started four separate playthoughs over the years. Sometimes with mods, sometimes without. And every time, I end up quitting because of how much of a chore it is to talk to people and explore the towns. Running around in the wild is fine. But when you try to actually do the main story quests, its worse than going to the dentist.

And after downloading all the best mods, that just made it worse. Since I did all the modded content, then went back to the main story. And it was even worse in comparison.

Give Skyre a try. It changes and adds a bunch of weapons, perks, spells, skills, combat, racials, armor, and standing stones. It gives the game more depth when it comes to building your character by offering more weapon types and perks that coincide with it. From my experiences my builds were
>spellblade who used mage armor and a spell that gives your equipped weapon an enchantment
>a manipulator who uses illusion magick to trick enemies into killing themselves or attack an image of me while I made my escape
>a full combat archer who sniped enemies with a longbow and fought in close range with a shortbow
It's insane with what this mod offers. Of you do decide to pick it up then read the extra shit at the bottom if you want to use other mods that include weapons or armor.

I literally just was. I had to start a new character because of a gamebreaking bug. All my weapons dealt 1 damage, unless they were tempered.

Just stop uninstalling that shit and feeling disgusted. I used to be the same way. After doing it for the 2nd time, I said fuck it and now I just have a wank whenever I need to.

I managed to get out of the cycle by not uninstalling.

High elf but never use magic, alchemy, enchanting, or stealth, only heavy armor, smithing, block one and two handed weapons, and archery. Only use found magic items, no recharging weapons or disenchanting anything, played on Legendary difficulty.

Even more fuckery than usual because a bunch of mod makers go out of their way to make their shit specifically incompatible with loli characters and since no one documents anything trying to work around it is far more of a nuisance than it should be.
