not in every title. Not even close. I've had games where even the 2080Ti was struggling to maintain 100fps. Now that can be attributed to the game being garbage optimization, but regardless. The 2070S is the best bang for buck on 1440p though, hands down. I'm not knocking people for buying mid range stuff as opposed to halo tier products, but there is a market for it.

Nvidia is in the position that Intel was not long ago. They're the only name in the game that matters for the vast majority of buyers. The 5700XT is basically competing against the 2070S at the same/lower price, at least on release.
Nvidia can charge so much because they're the only ones making high-end gpus.
But their pricing is way more jewish than Intel's.
The only issue with AMD is that drivers are sometimes pretty fucked.
But they do compete, it's just at the low-mid range. High-End belongs to Nvidia which is why the 2080Ti costs so much more than the 1080Ti on release.
But it's the consumer's fault too. Idiots were begging for new gpus so Nvidia started to sell some prototypes they had lying around. Idiots bought them and then Nvidia released the Super/Ti line.
Of course AMD is a company like them too, it's just that right now, they're the only ones being able to do something about it.
The R5 2600 is more than you need and people often call it a budget-CPU because it's only 200 bucks

the xbox looks amazing for its form factor but it still won't be better than a 2080 ti. it will be midrange by the time the rtx 3070 comes out which will match/beat the 2080 ti in performance. really good for the price as well considering a 3070 would probably cost $500 on its own like this gen but it will be outdated by pc price/perf after a couple years. that's also why sony shills should be worried because their machine might not be able to keep up at high resolutions. nobody wants a 720p vs 1080p situation again.

I used to think this way until I got a decent paying job and didn't have to worry about bills. I've already got a retirement account. I've got a stock portfolio. I've got savings. The only debt I have is a mortgage. What should I even do with my money except spend it on things I like in the best quality possible?
