Shopkeeper is so fucking broken, I beat the Gate with her on my first time playing her. I didn't even look up all her shit and forgot what her basic attack did the entire run. Doesn't matter cuz she's so broken holy shit

Flow is a bonus on some spells, which also often give flow. However, Flow is consumed even if you cast a non-Flow spell. Basically, Flow builds rely on getting a lot of Flow spells and chaining them together.

It's really nothing like StS. It has a card system and a path system, but the combat is so different I have no idea why people bring up the comparison.

I made it to the last stage with the meme shield strat. I know it's basically cheating but bosses were still kind of challenging because my mana gain wasn't up to speed. It made my dick very hard.

make Flow/Trinity give a bonus to regular spells, otherwise it's kind of pointless getting artifacts/upgrades. Flow especially is a feel-bad upgrade if you're not running a Flow build. It could be something minor like refund 10% of spell's mana cost

Because the combat makes up 90% of the game and it's drastically different and inherently incomparable? The path system is a superficial similarity. Deck building is similar to StS only in that it's the same deck building you're going to find in any other games of the genre

I've already put in 30h so I'd say it's definitely worth $20. I'm a massive pirate but I try not to pirate indies. It's at least worth a try, there's a demo and a mega link somewhere

Died One Step from Eden with Chrono Saffron. I never use her Time Slow even though stacking Mana Regen and spamming it is legit.

Here are some tips for all of you out there: When picking spell cards, don't force yourself to pick one up because it's offered to you. It's okay at the start when you're experiment and all, but once that's done with, If all three reward spells suck or don't fit with your strategy, you can skip them and don't be afraid to. The smaller your deck is, the more often you'll see your good spells and it's better have a small deck with one good spell than a huge deck with several. You'll actually remember what your spells do and you'll be able to have a more consistent strategy through each battle this way. There's a reason why it cost 65$ to remove a card from your deck and you have one right at the start too that you should use ASAP. From what I've seen so far each character have at the very least one spell that should be discarded.

You should also try to stick to one character (I personally really like the mechanic girl) and practice their playstyles. If you just wanna tier whore, I'm pretty sure Shield girl is a very good character, if not the best right now. Once you've mastered her parry and get lucky with the shield beam upgrades, the game becomes your bitch real quick.
