>He didn't buy one of these and a USB adapter for PC games
Comfy as shit. What's your excuse? Even I am a pleb for not using the Duke but I couldn't find one in green.
>b-but muh shoulder buttons are not in their usual place!
So what? You're not a fucking scrub now are you, Yas Forums?
He didn't buy one of these and a USB adapter for PC games

Hyperkin sells a USB version of the duke controller for Windows. it;s on amazon.
>$65 as opposed to $10 (controller) + $2 (Adapter)
>Shitty gimmicky screen
>Not wireless but detachable cable (???)
>Friend who owns one told me it started drifting after a few months of use
It's shit.
>not playing on mouse and keyboard
Why
Because fuck playing anything other than FPS/TPS with mouse and keyboard.
because m/kb's are for nerds and it's uncomfortable
Most games play like absolute shit with m+kb unless it's fps or rts, as the other user said
I mean I know it's usable because I did it for every game until I decided to finally get a controller. But most of these games are designed with controller in mind. You're really getting an inferior experience using m+kb for anything besides fps or rts.
m+kb-onlyists really like to cope hard about this, to the extent that I have actually seen some losers trying to defend things like having to use the mouse wheel to control analog walking speed in games like Splinter Cell. Doable? Yes, I did it. Clunky? Fuck yes.
But I did do that. It was fun for 6th gen games but then I got an Xbox 360 controller for windows.
You did feel the shoulder buttons being out of place when playing games that required shoulder buttons while having your thumb on the right stick
i unironically use pic related
git gud
>Playing Code Vein with this thing
I bought an extra break-away cable back in the day and just hacked together my own usb cable for my s controller. I don't use it anymore though since I have a bone controller.
why was it so BIG
seriously what was the purpose of the dinner plate sized logo
>just hacked together my own usb cable for my s controller
I did that too but for some reason I could never get it to work. I had to give up, wait for the USB adapter to come in the mail, then solder all the cables back to the original connector which was a pain in the ass.
why would you use this garbage instead of xbone controller? i mean, really?
what is it with kids on this board and trying SO hard to be contrary to every good idea or recognized best thing
I prefer a normal controller
The Xbone controller fucking sucks dude, so uncomfortable.
>b-but muh shoulder buttons are not in their usual place!
You are right, what sort of animal needs shoulder buttons when you have nigger and master race buttons
The ones in the small controller ain't that bad either
i don't know. it's fucking laughable.
>USB adapter for PC games
will it be plug and play if i do that?
And where to get the adaptor
You need to install one driver, and Ebay.
It's been so long, but I remember having to hunt down a specific driver or something. It definitely was a bit of a headache to get it working back then.
>install one driver
okay but no gay apps like xinput or joycon or whatever rtight?
That's not the fucking Duke dumbass.
THIS is.
No, just install this driver (which is a pain in the ass on itself)
s-config.com
And then just configure it as an Xbone controller in Steam Big Picture.
I suggest developing a bit of reading comprehension.
I use a 360 controller with the official USB wireless adapter. Got no complaints about it really.
>360 controller
Boring.
For the OG Xbox controllers you can literally splice the controller cable to a USB cable, then install a driver, and it works. I remember a friend did that like 15 years ago.
It's the most compatible and hassle-free out of all controllers I've tried on PC. And I've got a fucking shitload of controllers and adapters. I haven't had to worry about button mapping since I started using it since a lot of PC games design it to just werk.
>I haven't had to worry about button mapping since I started using it since a lot of PC games design it to just werk
...So just like literally any other controller when you have Steam open.
Yeah because unofficial xbox controller support was great on Windows XP
>Steam
>Steam
imagine using Steam in currentyear
It's needed to play pirated games online, not to mention (again) the controller feature.
X1> X360 > S > Duke
Should have bought a Duke contrarian fag.
Xbone sucks ass
Idk but when I first got an xbox with that bad boy and I held it, it's just felt right, it felt like the future was now.
Not really. If you're saying you haven't had to fag around with button mappings or profiles with other controllers you're full of shit. I've used DS2, DS3, DS4, NES, SNES, N64, Gamecube, Wii, Wii U Pro, Switch Pro, and a couple Logitech controllers on PC and none of them come remotely close to being as plug and play as a 360 controller. That's why I bought a 360 controller when I don't even own a 360.
Make fun of The One all you want, but once we reach 1 billion units sold you will be crying like an anime fan on prom night
>Make fun of The One all you want
That's not what I meant. What I meant is that the controller is fucking uncomfortable and I hate it.
Branding, unironically. As for why the controller was built for giants I have no clue, probably trying to be so different that it fell into absurdity.
It was my favourite until the Switch Pro came along. The triggers are wonderful for racing games.
>Switch Pro
i just got a XB1 over a Switch Pro
>The triggers are wonderful for racing games
The triggers is what I hate the most about it.
Also
>racing games without a wheel and pedals
Unless you're talking about kart games, you make me SICK
Can totally understand, I just fell in love with the big fat clicky face buttons
i dont want to pay $300 for that stuff but yes it is superior
Fuck man, if only the Gamecube one had all the buttons it's missing.
fucking WHEN
Steam controller API beats the shit out of using third party shit like XinputWrapper. I'm sorry you are a Chinese Spyware shill, but come the fuck on.
really
b8
i always just felt like it was a silent statement that the small controller ps2 had was for kids and xbox was for MEN!
still didn't like that damn controller though
That controller was xbox huge
Only a problem for manlets, women, babies and fatasses.
>dualshits anywhere near top
Their gimmicks are cool, but they all feel like cheap fucking plastic creaking and cracking during normal use.
>small and inaccessible black & white buttons
Both original Xbox controllers are pretty bad
Why did the gamecube controller have to be so ugly?
Looks like cheap fisher-price babby shit.
>M$ hasn't made an xbone1s version with the transparent green
> inaccessible
just use your index on the buttons and middle finger on the triggers
Because it's for children
I genuinely miss the transparent controller/console fad.
Why did it pretty much die off with the end of the sixth gen?
It died out for the solid black box minimalism look.
They still do controllers but yeah, transparent consoles are long gone. You're lucky to get anything that isn't solid black or white or just a lame decal.
manlet filter
UV light fucks up internal components my dude
That pic evokes nice, fuzzy feelings.
Truly a patrician console.
Fuck the duke, I dont care about the size, but the position of the black and white buttons sucked ass, not to mention the shape of the buttons
Consoles needed to be super serious for the serious gamer.
I can't go back to L2/R2 being the black and white buttons above the ABXY buttons
t. owns two actual dukes.
