I don't think so. The player almost died several times and he doesn't used dashes or upgrades (I presume). Maybe it would be better if the enemies don't drop health as well.

It's an interesting idea, but to call it a Classic Doom experience is just incorrect.
Plutonia and TNT are the best version of doom.
TNT being the superior wasnt except for that fatal map oversight where you cant get the key needed to progress.

The only times stages got to 58+ enemies in a single area in the original games (Not counting Go 2 It from plutonia) was during big outdoor areas, which were rare.

Seems dumb because all the enemies and their projectiles literally auto track you because the developers are retards and had to force you to use their 20 shoe horned in gameplay systems
They lead their shots, but since it is all projectile based then you can theoretically dodge them all.

This speed plus high ammo counts plus faster enemy projectiles and no glory kills and it's fixed

my guess is that all the glory kill animations are entirely first person, and the game just hides it by vanishing the monster model. meanwhile in battle mode the slayer just plays generic finisher animations in third-person so it vaguely looks like he's glory killing even if it's not what the first-person sees at all.

I know not everyone feels this way, but to me its simply how they missed using it. Sometime X to awesome can be fun as a closer to a long fight or something. Every single enemy doing it is boring.
Is it too much to ask for a mode where there's no glory kills and enemies sometimes drop health/ammo? I couldn't put myself through DOOM 2016 because of glory kills alone.
True, but that was just an engine limitation. I don't oppose freelook in general, except the original levels weren't designed with that in mind. If someone wants to use vertical aim with custom levels, I don't see any problem with that. Jumping too, if the game wants to add jumping sections, that's fine. Although I noticed that OP's video instantly looked a lot more like the original game's projectile dodging style of gameplay, when you just move from side to side instead of jumping around
