I agree, but what would be the point? It's been done before. Vice city is so fondly remembered because it captured a feeling of a time and place, but satirised it and gave it character. Literally, vice city was the very definition of "soul", without memeing or being hyperbolous. Transferring it to modern technology, you either lose that soul by giving it modern graphics, a bigger map etc, or remaster it with better graphics which is not only pointless but also rids the game of soul again. If that was the case I don't see them putting wilderness between it. You'd have to fly between the two, and not in freeroam, through an airport menu.

I couldn't see them doing two cities though. Rockstar really likes to do their research to fully develop these cities and condense it down into a recognizable, but fictional version of whatever it's based off of. We're talking interviews with locals, traffic data, hot spots and times, surveying the city and landmarks etc. They would never do that with two cities and put it in one game. Whatever city they choose they want it to have the focus.

Has anybody heard anything of Rockstar being seen scouting any major US cities? I'm surprised nobody has spotted them. Usually there is some article at some point where someone noticed them snooping around whatever city the next game is going to be in

If this shit is reliable then my guess is that San Fierro was meant to be included in GTA V but got scrapped, they were also meant to have SP DLC which got cancelled mid development in favor of GTA Online, maybe San Fierro was gong to be a part of that

No, it was going to be a What-If DLC like Undead Nightmare featuring aliens. The other one being post-story mode following Ending C and Trevor doing shit for the IAA. Then after the PS4/Xbone release they were going to do an Undead Nightmare/zombie DLC just for the next-gen/PC versions. All got scrapped and recycled into GTAO. The two what-if DLCs would have completely revamped the Los Santos map.

As far as anyone knows from datamining and inside sources, there were never any plans for San Fierro DLC. Rockstar puts too much work into their maps for it to be featured in a DLC.
