I was hoping it would be Byleth after finishing FETH because I love the FE Avatars. Robin, Corrin, and Byleth should be the only FEs imo and maybe Marth because he's the first.
When Banjo released there was 3 slots in the fighters catalogue despite there being I guessed it would mean one character would have a female alt.
I knew it was either pranked Terry or Byleth. I'm happy with her inclusion.

Gayleth is a shit choice from a shit game that provides nothing new to the game at all. Gayleth's "gimmick" is literally "i'm not like other girls" despite Gayleth being even less fun to play than all the other FE characters. Gayleth's main gimmick is litterally Peach's side smash but peddled as a new gameplay gimmick when in reality it's fucking garbage and Gayleth is still just a retarded FE faggot but worse

It's a fun game, there just isn't enough to do. Splatoon had a single player campaign and the Ranked Battles which mix up gameplay substantially, but ARMS is either pure arena battle or a very limited minigame. That said, the arena battles were super fun, and that's pretty much all most fighters get, so maybe it was just unfair to compare.

ARMS is a pure fighting game, there's not much more to add to it. It's built like a true, old school fighting game.

Yet it totally fell flat on it's face, really makes you think. It's almost as if it didn't have soul at all and was just gimmicky dog shit, built not out of genuine spontaneous creativity, but to sell a specific feature of a newly launched console.
It's character designs are also fucking awful. This is in fact one of the main reasons why it failed so hard, a fighting game lives or dies based on it's roster, and ARMS has an absolutely terrible one.
Game is shit and dead, and shoehorning one of it's faggoty characters into Smash isn't going to change that. Good riddance
