They pushed so hard to add settlements they forgot to add other content. The game just doesn't interest you.
Far Harbor was very good but it was obviously rushed: it's short, empty and buggy. Should've had more time for development. And you can't start the game with the dlc like the witcher 3 unfortunately so you have to play through unberable vanilla and level up enough which you won't do because you will die of boredom by the time you are ready to go the island.

No it wasn't, it was just a shooting gallery with no substance. I remember i reinstalled Fallout 4 one and a half year ago, was playing alright without getting bored too much. Leveled up until 30 or 35 or whenever Nuka World starts and as soon as i got there i just lost any interest in playing at all. Even Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta were more fun with Fallout 3's shooting. I only regret not replaying Far Harbor first before starting NW. I haven't played it since 2016 and it's the only thing that would make me ever return to Fallout 4 ever again.

Well there's not much you can do in the game. I've tried to run a settlement, tried sim settlements, tried larping as a lone settler and building shack and crops just for myself but it all gets boring incredibly fast. You always start the game in the northwest part of the map so your initial route is pretty much always the same. There's only three actual town in the game and they all near each other in the same part of the map. Compare that to Fallout 3 where you started right in the middle of the map and had different towns in all directions.

I loved fallout, yet I never finished this game. Just lost all my interest, even have a hard time remembering where I quit. I got to the fort and did some shit for the bos at the zeppelin but it just sucked balls.

Humm, did mods fix it yet? Haven't touched it for a few years and while it was slightly fun it sort of grinds to a halt at some point when you're about halfway done collecting everything (bobbleheads and magazines, fuck the story) and after that it just feels samey and stagnant.

Has Fallout 76 come out on any civilized platform yet? I'm not downloading Bethesdas botnet.

Because spending 10 hours modding a game I'll get bored of in 2 doesn't sound very appealing to me.

I played through the game once and never touched it again. It was shitty in so many ways in comparison to fallout 3/new vegas. I'm still kind of triggered that a good portion of the map was covered in water and yet there was nothing but a single quest to do there.
