I don't understand how people can play VR games where you teleport. Seems incredibly annoying and unhandy, HLA especially.
I watched a bit of gameplay and I was nearly sick with how jumpy and terrible the movement looked. I can't imagine actually playing it.

Teleporting still calculates as a regular movement. What you see it just a visual representation of a movement minus motion sickness, dipshit.
If you will try to just hop through the level, you will still get hit by all the projectiles and all enemies will detect you the same way as you would run past them.

None of these are constraints of VR. They are arguments against being overly conservative in game design. I can imagine playing the entirety of Half Life 1 and 2 in VR with their standard controls plus VR aiming.

Room scale and traditional controls typically both exist at the same time, including in Alyx. They just made design decisions to limit some aspects of the controls. Design choices and not a limitation of the hardware. You may as well just say slow movement speed is a constraint of games that have a slow movement speed.
