Extra garbage content. Overall creates a shittier experience. The base game itself is nothing special in the first place, that's why I'm recommending Golden, but if you REALLY want to play the fifth game then I just suggest playing the original.

Golden is actually a good re-release, and literally no one gives a shit about it anymore. The hype is all about Joker now. The guy can probably snag it for like twenty bucks at the store and have a better time than dropping a shit ton for garbage like Royal.

Kasumi is pretty good and new villain is the best villain in the game

The only thing it has is better visuals and style. The dungeons look fucking gorgeous, but level design is equally shit and rarely better. The only one that sticks out is The Castle. But that's besides the point, playing Persona for the dungeons is retarded, the main pull is the life simulator and Golden delivers much more. Royal tried to up the ante but just added shit, and the base game has barely any fun daily life moments for you to give a shit. It was an okay game, but compared to Golden, it's just garbage.

The characters in golden are utter shit and they added retarded cliche anime moments like the girls finding out your peeping on them and the girls fucking comparing boob sizes. It’s so fucking tired and boring. not to mention characters like yukiko and chie are literally sociopaths with one-note personalities.

Dungeons are all better.
Music is better.
Mechanics are better.
Confidants/S Links are better and actually impact the gameplay now.
