Has there been an influx of new players recently? I played a few games earlier and encountered a ton of f2p's who had no clue what they were doing. My favourite was a spy on 2fort who was on my team and kept trying to sap my equipment.

lmao no it's not. You're capped to a MAXIMUM dozen drops per week (average 8/9) = 6 scraps. One refined is 18 scraps. One key is 55 refined. Even being extremely generous you need to idle for 3 YEARS to get a SINGLE key. You'd need more than 1 hundred bots running 24/7 to get an amazing profit of 2 whole dollars per week.

The vast amount of bots are NOT for idling, but mainly for automatic trading, which dominates the current market and is something you'd know if you actually played the game.

I'd say it's at 30k tops since A) the numbers on teamwork.tf never go above 20k and B) assuming there's maybe 5-10k players looking for a match, though I admit that is being generous. Even 24/7 2fort servers that have been around forever like No Heroes have finally kicked the bucket. I do believe that a good chunk of those players could also be bots as well considering that when I decided to delete my back back, ~75%of what I gifted away went to 00000AAAAADDDDDFFFFFF or some similar "player". Now that HL:Alyx is done, they need to get the Heavy Update out. But even then, considering the past updates have been shit, unless it is perfect, it will probably be the final nail in the coffin for the majority of players still holding on

It pretty much stopped being fun when matchmaking was implemented. And no, I don't mean quickplay removal, quickplay was horse shit too, in fact TF2's decline, for me, started as soon as the main menu stopped looking like this.
It was the beginning of the end for custom skins, custom maps, all of that shit.
I tried to find ONE arena server, and I couldn't find one. Almost all community servers at this point are shitty Saxton Hale MLP servers.
